[Bug 1776150] [NEW] 2.6.19 on bionic: QIF import wizard hangs when manipulating account tree
Public bug reported: Occasionally when manipulating the account tree attempting to assign transactions to existing accounts, the dialog just hangs when the "expand tree" widget is clicked on. It seems to be related to possibly manipulating the dialog too fast, but I really have no idea. It is very frustrating because you lose the entire state of the import (all transactions) when this happens. 0x7fe18f18abf9 in __GI___poll (fds=0x55eb83c99ac0, nfds=3, timeout=1) at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/poll.c:29 29 ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/poll.c: No such file or directory. [Bug 1161012] Re: Clamav package adds proxy to config on install and update
Experienced this bug today across 10 different installs (mix of Desktop and Server edition). Had to manually remove the apt-cacher-ng proxy address from the freshclam.conf files. I had a quick look at the clamav source code and only found proxy settings being imported from $http_proxy. Didn't see anything specifically targeting apt proxy settings, so I suspect apt-get is setting the http_proxy environment variable during runtime, which is then being picked up by clamav if installed via apt-get. I've confirmed http_proxy is not set in my standard environment, but haven't had time to run apt-get through a debugger to confirm my theory of apt setting the http_proxy variable in its process. There also seems to be a duplicate bug here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/clamav/+bug/1631355 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1161012 Title: Clamav package adds proxy to config on install and update To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/clamav/+bug/1161012/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1776087] Re: package libvirt-daemon-system 4.0.0-1ubuntu8.1 failed to install/upgrade: installed libvirt-daemon-system package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. On upgrading a service this service has to be restarted to pick up the fixes. Rather rarely a real issue occurs that the newer version does e.g. fail with the formerly working configuration. But most of the time what happens is, that a service was installed, but stays unconfigured or experimented with but left in a broken state. Now on any update of the related packages that service has to be restarted, but since its config is incomplete/faulty it fails to restart. Therefore the update of that package has to consider itself incomplete. Depending on your particular case there are two solutions: - either remove the offending package if you don't want to continue using it. - Or if you do want to keep it please fix the configuration so that re-starting the service will work. Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I'm marking this bug as Incomplete. If indeed this is a local configuration problem, you can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New. ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1776087 Title: package libvirt-daemon-system 4.0.0-1ubuntu8.1 failed to install/upgrade: installed libvirt-daemon-system package post- installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1776087/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1776087] Re: package libvirt-daemon-system 4.0.0-1ubuntu8.1 failed to install/upgrade: installed libvirt-daemon-system package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
Hi, the logs don't indicate a lot, I can only see that it failed to restart service libvirtd. In general if a service fails to start as-is due to any bug/configuration change then an upgrade will fail as it has to restart the service. The block of virsh/virt-manager just seem like libvirtd being down, witch matches your fail to restart it. You'd have to check a few thing on your installation independent to the upgrade to ensure it is running fine which usually is then unblocking the upgrade. 1. does a "systemctl restart libvirtd" work (repetively) 2. if it does get more data on why 2a. what does "journalctl -xef" while doing so report 2b. consider enabling libvirtd debugging [1] and check the log 3. try to config your system so that libvirt restarts reliably 4. then re-kick the update of the package [1]: https://libvirt.org/logging.html -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1776087 Title: package libvirt-daemon-system 4.0.0-1ubuntu8.1 failed to install/upgrade: installed libvirt-daemon-system package post- installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1776087/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1776145] [NEW] Transition Up issue
Public bug reported: I noticed that there is an issue for a transition that is applied from a lower track to an upper track direction. The image in the lower track will always reappear at the end of the applied transition. That means the image in the lower track first appears. During transition, the image in the lower track changes to the image in the upper track. However, at the end of the transition, the image in the lower track will reappear and then it disappears the and image in the upper track will reappear again. Even if I make the transition duration surpass the end of the image in the lower track, this issue cannot be resolved. This issue did not occur for transitions in the "down" direction. This is a bug in Openshot 1.4.3 that I hope it can be fixed. [Bug 927952] Re: When I press the Print Screen button, it will not appear in "Save Screenshot" window.
Just recently upgraded to bionic, and after using it for a while I mostly got used to it, but the one feature that keeps bothering me painfully is the lack of the printscreen dialog. I understand the initiative to adopt gnome standards, but this is introducing a big inconvenience in comparison to how it was functional in the Unity desktop. It is not just about being able to save printscreens to an arbitrary location under an arbitrary name. It is even more importantly being able to copy a printscreen into a clipboard without saving it to a file on a disk. I used to be able to just copy a printscreen and Ctrl+V it into a IM window, a email client or any webapp. Now I have to take additional steps to open file manager, navigate to the Pictures folder, locate the one printscreen file I need among other ones, and drag it to where I need it, then, delete it. The functionality and user experience has decreased significantly for me, and on top of that I get constantly annoyed by it. I wish Canonical shipped the previous user experience with the new gnome-desktop based Ubuntu. A display plugged in prevents logging in, and plugging in kills the session and drops you back to login -- at least on Arch. https://github.com/DisplayLink/evdi/issues/133 ** Bug watch added: github.com/DisplayLink/evdi/issues #133 https://github.com/DisplayLink/evdi/issues/133 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1720133 Title: USB 3.0 displays are black on Ubuntu after x.org update to 1.18.3 or newer To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1720133/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1774950] Re: Suspend fails in Ubuntu and Kubuntu 18.04 but works fine in Ubuntu and Kubuntu 17.10 (and on Kubuntu 18.04 using kernel 4.14.47)
I'm having the exact same problem in a clean installation of Ubuntu 18.04. I'm on a Lenovo Legion Y720. Even suspending by command or by closing the lid, it hangs. I can see a dash blinking in top left of the screen. In that stage, the laptop is not completely dead: the numlock button stills toggles the numlock led. But when I hit ctrl-alt-F1, then the blinking dash disappears and numlock button doesn't even work any more. From then, I have to hard reset the machine. My logs look just like the OP described, so the machine actually thinks it went to sleep. It's odd that it doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes it suspends correctly. I'm using nVidia drivers. Some said that driver might be the problem, although some people report having the same problem with intel cards. Not sure if related, but I got LOTS of these on dmesg: [dom jun 10 20:55:04 2018] pcieport :00:1c.4: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Corrected, type=Data Link Layer, id=00e4(Transmitter ID) [dom jun 10 20:55:04 2018] pcieport :00:1c.4: device [8086:a114] error status/mask=1000/2000 [dom jun 10 20:55:04 2018] pcieport :00:1c.4:[12] Replay Timer Timeout Also, in those cases where it actually suspends ok, sometimes it randomly wakes up as if someone would have opened the lid (many times I double checked it was actually suspended before putting the laptop in my backpack and then found it freakingly hot because it turned on by itself). I'm running Ubuntu on Samsung SSD 850 Pro and I also have a WD Black M.2 on the pci express slot with a different SO. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1774950 Title: Suspend fails in Ubuntu and Kubuntu 18.04 but works fine in Ubuntu and Kubuntu 17.10 (and on Kubuntu 18.04 using kernel 4.14.47) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1774950/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1776119] [NEW] Lubuntu 18.04 installation fails (dualboot attempt windows 10/Lubuntu 18.04)
Public bug reported: I am trying to install Lubuntu 18.04 (64-bit PC (AMD64) desktop image) as dual boot with Windows 10 on a computer. I burned the iso on a dvd and proceeded to the installation (from the "try lubuntu" and clicked on the desktop icon), I chose "install Lubuntu next to Windows 10" and continued the installation, when I arrived to the final step before the installation, where you can resize the partitions, I pressed next but the installation didn't start and the window just disappeared. I tried again but nothing. When I restarted I was promoted with a popup asking if I wanted to report a bug in ubiquity, I ignored it and restarted, trying the "install lubuntu" option from the bios. This time I noticed that the option "install Lubuntu next to Windows 10"had disappeared, so I could either erase everything and install lubuntu or manually partition (which I am not familiar with). To avoid issues I aborted this attempt and restarted. From the "try ubuntu" I tried for the last time from the "try ubuntu" option (and then icon from desktop), but this time here too I saw that the option to install Lubuntu next to windows 10 had disappeared... i am sorry if I wrote a lot, I hope you can understand the issue, basically if I try to install Lubuntu as dualboot the installation setup fails, and after restarting the option to keep windows 10 disappeared. What can I do? Edit: seems that Bug #1754174 is somehow similar/related but not exactly the same and it says that a fix was released but my issue persists. ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: I am trying to install Lubuntu 18.04 (64-bit PC (AMD64) desktop image) as dual boot with Windows 10. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu

[Bug 1773859] Re: upgrades to 18.04 fail
