[Bug 1777008] Re: Fix log reopen in >=2.2.33
There is a test build in [1] that I'd ask you to try before going forward. It would also be great if you could assist by providing short steps to reproduce that we could use as test verification of the issue under the terms of [2], to fill the test section for the SRU template here. [Bug 1777579] [NEW] 18.04 Dekstop LTS DNS behavior (systemd-resolved)
Public bug reported: Hi, I am using te latest Ubuntu Mate Desktop 18.04 LTS release and have issues getting local DNS to work. In my network I maintain a central router instance that povides DHCP and DNS successfully over many years. The DHCP assigns a valid address and correct DNS information to my above mentioned network client. However DNS resolution does not work for DNS records maintained in my router for my local network. See here: (local DNS server on .3.1) uho@Asus:~/Schreibtisch$ systemd-resolve --status Global DNSSEC NTA: 10.in-addr.arpa 16.172.in-addr.arpa 168.192.in-addr.arpa 17.172.in-addr.arpa 18.172.in-addr.arpa 19.172.in-addr.arpa 20.172.in-addr.arpa 21.172.in-addr.arpa 22.172.in-addr.arpa 23.172.in-addr.arpa 24.172.in-addr.arpa 25.172.in-addr.arpa 26.172.in-addr.arpa 27.172.in-addr.arpa 28.172.in-addr.arpa 29.172.in-addr.arpa 30.172.in-addr.arpa 31.172.in-addr.arpa corp d.f.ip6.arpa home internal intranet lan local private test Link 2 (wlp2s0) Current Scopes: DNS LLMNR setting: yes MulticastDNS setting: no DNSSEC setting: no DNSSEC supported: no DNS Servers: 192.168.3.1 uho@Asus:~/Schreibtisch$ uho@Asus:~/Schreibtisch$ nslookup filou Server: 127.0.0.53 Address:127.0.0.53#53 ** server can't find filou: SERVFAIL uho@Asus:~/Schreibtisch$ nslookup filou 192.168.3.1 Server: 192.168.3.1 Address:192.168.3.1#53 Non-authoritative answer: Name: filou Address: 192.168.3.10 uho@Asus:~/Schreibtisch$ nslookup 192.168.3.10 10.3.168.192.in-addr.arpa name = filou. [Bug 1758243] Re: bumblebee needs configuration changes to work with nvidia-driver-390 and libglvnd0
I can confirm that the full procedure covered in #1 and #5 has worked for me once I added one addition change. I found a file in /etc/modprobe.d with the line "alias nvidia off" which prevented bumblebee from loading the nvidia module. It was in /etc/modprobe.d //blacklist-nvidia.conf which I believe is created by prime-select and remained although nvidia-prime had been purged. I commented out the line and restarted bumblebee with "sudo systemctl restart bumblebeed" and everything then worked. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1758243 Title: bumblebee needs configuration changes to work with nvidia-driver-390 and libglvnd0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bumblebee/+bug/1758243/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1777565] Re: pulseaudio seems to have crashed
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your bug report is missing crash details. In order to debug a crash we will need a crash report. To create one, please follow these steps: 1. If you are not running a future development release of Ubuntu then apply the workaround from bug 994921. 2. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport. 3. If the crash is in Xorg then uncomment this option from /etc/gdm3/custom.conf: # Additionally lets the X server dump core if it crashes #Enable=true 4. Reboot. 5. Reproduce the crash. 6. Look in /var/crash for crash files and when found, run: ubuntu-bug /var/crash/YOURFILE.crash 7. Add a comment here telling us the ID of the new bug that was created in step 6. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments, and doing so is also a security risk for yourself. ** Changed in: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1777565 Title: pulseaudio seems to have crashed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/1777565/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 1777378] Re: [nvidia] GDM no longer presents GUI login Ubuntu 18.04
It appears your crash reports are not being sent because the nvidia driver you're using is not the official Ubuntu one. Please remove your nvidia driver and install the official one from: sudo apt install nvidia-driver-390 When done, reboot. Assuming that doesn't fix the problem, please check again for new crash files. If you find any, please DON'T send them to us but instead run this command to do it: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash and tell us the new bug ID created. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1777378 Title: [nvidia] GDM no longer presents GUI login Ubuntu 18.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1777378/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1777268] Re: Simple Scan crashes in Ubuntu 16 with Brother MFC-L2710DW
It looks like the problem here is that the Brother's official driver installer is installing an outdated driver file. This was found previously: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=262330#p1425901 instead of downloading and installing the latest brscan4-0.4.5-1.amd64.deb it is installing the older brscan4-.04.4-3.amd64.deb. This older version is causing the crash. When the installer script is manually patched to install the latest version of the brscan4 package, the crash goes away. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1777268 Title: Simple Scan crashes in Ubuntu 16 with Brother MFC-L2710DW To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/simple-scan/+bug/1777268/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1777552] [NEW] garbled output with truetype fonts
Public bug reported: In 17.10 I printed with enscript using the truetype font "DejaVuSansMono" without any difficulties. (I had set up the appropriate afm files and edited font.map.) After upgrading to 18.04 enscript produces output that is garbled, with incorrect glyphs or squares replacing most of the characters in the output. Other applications such as libreoffice print using DejaVu fonts without difficulty. Enscript still works fine with the fonts it came with as far as my testing shows. So Bookman and the default font both work. But Liberation (another truetype font) also fails.
