[Bug 1780897] Re: Installation failure on UEFI systems using older images with automatic download of updates enabled

I have just performed a sanity install of ubuntu-desktop daily bionic.
The install resulted in a bootable system - therefore I consider all
test cases performed successfully.

[Bug 1728012] Re: Many 3rd party scanner drivers are broken by a sane change

2018-07-11 Thread Ilja
I also have a problem installing Panasonic KX-MB1500 on Ubuntu 18.04
LTS. Drivers taken from
https://panasonic.net/cns/pcc/support/fax/common/table/linuxdriver.html#SD
As a printer and a copy device it works. Installation itself seemed
unproblematic. In the past, version 14., it has worked, it failed in 16
but I have not tried hard.

lsusb gives:

Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0bda:8179 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8188EUS 802.11n

sudo scanimage -L gives nothing.

[Bug 1320455] Re: Thunderbird Unity integration does not work

2018-07-11 Thread gf
Hi Tamas,
I am sorry for bothering you in this way. I have just volunteered and started
bug triaging last week, working to clear the older bugs. I was instructed to
use the standard template response which I have modified slightly since these
are really old tickets. They also suggested to change the ticket to incomplete
while waiting for a response. It is possible at this late date that a person's
email address has changed and I'll get no response at all. Only about 10% of
the people have responded on the 453 tickets I have addressed so far. Setting
it to incomplete will automatically close it if no response in 60 days.

Again, I am sorry this has hit you the wrong way and that was definitely
not intended. Thank you for getting back to me on this.

I'll close the ticket now.
Take care.
G

Closed per reporter's feedback.

Thanks for the prompt response. I removed 'nomodset' and ran 'sudo
update-initramfs -u' but still the secondary monitor is not detected. In
Display setting it shows 'Unknown Display'.
I've tried selecting the 'nvidia-driver-390' from software & updates >

So the user is there, the password must be wrong.

mysql> alter user 'debian-sys-maint'@'localhost' identified by 'the password in
debian.cnf';
Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec)

mysql> select User,Host,authentication_string from mysql.user where User =

+--+---+---+
| User | Host | authentication_string |
+--+---+---+
| debian-sys-maint | localhost | *the same hex string, it didn't change|

and the reason is that the password was already correct

mysql> select password('the password in debian.cnf');
+---+
| password('the password in debian.cnf')|
+---+
| *the hex string is both queries on user |
+---+

The problem is that the password doesn't work:

$ mysql -u debian-sys-maint -h localhost -p
Enter password:
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'debian-sys-maint'@'localhost'
(using password: YES)

which is exactly the message in error.log

[Bug 1781193] [NEW] kwallet forgot my password and asks for a password when it did not use to

2018-07-11 Thread Jan Daciuk
Public bug reported:

After a software upgrade yesterday involving libpam-kwallet4 and libpam-
kwallet5, a window with a title "KDE Wallet Service" appears when I
choose a VPN channel in knetworkmanager, launch opera, etc. Until
yesterday, this did not happen. In addition, when I enter the correct
password, the window reappears with a message "Error opening the wallet
kdewallet. Please try again. (Error code -9: Read error - possibly
incorrect password.) The wallet used to ask for its password only in
some situations, probably because it kept passwords in two wallets: one
accessible through kwalletmanager, and one invisible, but still working,
and containing most passwords.

I understand that KDE wallet is no longer secure, but it still collects
my passwords, and there seems to be no other application that can save
them automatically.

[Bug 1623440] Re: package mysql-server-5.7 5.7.15-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2018-07-11 Thread Paolo Montrasio
Workaround:

sudo vi /etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d/mysqld.cnf

Add this line

skip-grant-tables

to the [mysqld] section

sudo systemctl restart mysql.service
sudo apt-get install mysql-server-5.7 # to fix the broken installation

This will hang at

Upgrade process completed successfully.
Checking if update is needed.

In another shell:

sudo killall mysqld

Or maybe I could have stopped mysql.service before installing mysql
again

sudo systemctl start mysql.service

sudo vi /etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d/mysqld.cnf

Remove

skip-grant-tables

from the [mysqld] section

sudo systemctl restart mysql.service

I still can't connect as debian-sys-maint so apt-get upgrade will fail
again but at least I managed to complete this one.

[Bug 1780971] Re: Insufficient simple partitioning options

2018-07-11 Thread Steven Maddox
** Description changed:

- I'll try to keep this as concise as I can by telling you to circumstance
- I found myself in so you've got a real use case.
+ It won't look like it, but I've tried to keep this as concise as
+ possible whilst trying to keep the detail needed to show a genuine
+ frustration with the situation faced.

  --

- My workplace gave me a new Dell laptop and (although I don't use
- Windows, unlike my colleagues) I have been told to keep the Windows
- partitions intact (e.g. the Dell/Windows recovery, EFI and main Windows
- partitions) probably so that if the laptop needs re-purposing later they
- can as Windows 10 doesn't seem to use a serial/recovery media any more.
+ My employer gave me a new Dell laptop and (although I don't use Windows,
+ unlike my colleagues) I'd been told to keep the Windows/Dell/EFI
+ partitions intact for any potential later use (as it seems Windows 10
+ doesn't believe in serial keys/recovery media any more).

- I was happy to oblige with this request and on first ever laptop power
- on got it booting the Ubuntu MATE 18.04 installer from USB pen. I'd
- have loved to have just picked the encryption option presented (which
- also makes LVM mandatory) but this would erase Windows off too... so I
- had to use the advanced partitioning screen... where I shrank the main
- Windows partition and made myself a little ext4 /boot partition and an
- encrypted ext4 root partition.
+ I happily obliged, and on first boot up got it straight into the Ubuntu
+ MATE 18.04 installer via USB pen. I wanted to pick the "Encrypt the new
+ Ubuntu installation for security" but this would've wiped the whole
+ disk. So I head in to 'Something else' to shrink the main Windows
+ partition and made myself a little ext4 /boot partition and an encrypted
+ ext4 root partition.

- This was fine until I realised that hibernation doesn't work with swap
- files (read other reports online about this) and needs a swap partition
- (I'd normally be overjoyed as I hate swap partitions - that is... until
- now, when I need one).
+ But I quickly learned that hibernation doesn't work with swap files and
+ needs a swap partition (I'd normally be overjoyed as I hate swap
+ partitions - that is... until now, when I need one).

- Making another partition for encrypted swap would have worked but would
- surely have resulted in two password prompts on boot and a lot of re-
- configuring. Which got me thinking that what was really needed in this
- use case... is a way of using the normal encryption option in the
- installer (not using the advanced partition screen) which uses LVM also
- (so both swap and root partitions are covered by the same encryption)...
- BUT in a way that it just uses whatever free space is available...
- rather than wiping the whole disk.
+ What is really needed is to be able to use the "Encrypt the new Ubuntu
+ installation for security" as that will put both an ext4 root and swap
+ partition within LVM and also within LUKS/crypt.

- In the end I had to manually create the ext4 /boot, the crypt partition,
- LVM pv on top of that, the LVM vg, two LVM lv's and format them... then
- open up the installer for the advanced partitioning screen to see the
- pre-existing /dev/mapper/ entries for it to install to. But because the
- installer doesn't know it is installing to an encrypted area I still had
- to (afterwards) teach it about these by making a /etc/crypttab and
- reinstalling grub.
+ So I did just that (but using a VM) so I could witness what things got
+ named... turns out I'd need /dev/nvme0n1p5 to be an ext4 /boot and
+ /dev/nvme0n1p6 to be LUKS as /dev/mapper/nvme0n1p6_crypt. Then make an
+ LVM PV with a VG named ubuntu-mate-vg and 2 LVs which end up being
+ /dev/mapper/ubuntu--mate--vg--root and /dev/mapper/ubuntu--mate--vg-
+ swap_1. This way I'd end up with what "Encrypt the new Ubuntu
+ installation for security" would have created if it just supported going
+ into available free space rather than wiping the whole disk.

- So I do *at last* have a hibernating, dual booting and encrypted laptop.
+ So using the 'Try Ubuntu' option on the USB pen I got a desktop and
+ manually created all the entities talked about... then immediately after
+ ran the installer from the desktop which could then see the /dev/mapper
+ entries to install to. This has been fine but since the installer
+ didn't set up LUKS I had to manually install a /etc/crypttab afterwards
+ and re-initramfs/re-install GRUB.

- But it shouldn't be this difficult to get that surely?
+ I suppose I *could* have just made another partition as encrypted
+ swap... but that'd require jumping through just as many hoops doing that
+ to then possibly then find on boot it may ask for two encryption
+ passwords.

- I'd equally welcome a way of installing with encryption (again to free
- space, not wipe whole disk) without LVM... but if this is with a swap
- partition then the user should only be prompted for

[Bug 1770801] Re: Xsession: unable to launch "/usr/bin/lxsession -s Lubuntu -e LXDE"

2018-07-11 Thread Ashfaqur Rahman
Hi

This is just a hack that I figured out when I wanted to see if it was
possible to get a pure LXQt flavor in (l)ubuntu 18.04

Everything was done in Virtualbox.

First I installed ubuntu 18.04 server (x64), as that is the only way I know of
to get a minimal install without X.

Then I installed LXQt desktop pkgs with 'tasksel'

sudo tasksel install lubuntu-qt-desktop

Sure enough after that I started facing the exact same errors as
mentioned by the OP.

I checked the following location..

user01@vm-ubuntu:~$ ll /usr/share/xsessions/
total 32
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jul 11 14:29 ./
drwxr-xr-x 289 root root 12288 Jul 11 18:04 ../
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 157 Feb 13 01:09 Lubuntu.desktop
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2309 Dec 15 2017 lxqt.desktop
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 198 Mar 12 15:41 openbox.desktop
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 125 Feb 13 01:09 QLubuntu.desktop

I removed the 'Lubuntu.desktop' file and created a symlink with the same
name pointing to the file 'lxqt.desktop' and voilà..., problem solved
:)

now /usr/share/xsessions/ looks like this

user01@vm-ubuntu:~$ ll /usr/share/xsessions/
total 32
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jul 11 14:29 ./
drwxr-xr-x 289 root root 12288 Jul 11 18:04 ../
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root root33 Jul 11 14:29 Lubuntu.desktop ->
/usr/share/xsessions/lxqt.desktop
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2309 Dec 15 2017 lxqt.desktop
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 198 Mar 12 15:41 openbox.desktop
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 125 Feb 13 01:09 QLubuntu.desktop

Hope somebody will find this useful
Thanks
Emon

[Bug 1762491] Re: [SRU] No graphics after update, caused by virtualbox

2018-07-11 Thread LocutusOfBorg via ubuntu-bugs
** Description changed:

  [Impact]
  * ubuntu when used as a guest inside a Virtualbox VM machine

  [Test Case]
  * Install Ubuntu and mate or other DM, experience a black screen

  * Install vbox on xenial with guest and host. Test if everything works
and starts with 3d enabled and disabled, as well as different Desktop
  Managers.
+
+ [ autopkgtests ]
+ * this package has a really huge autopkgtest suite performed by upstream on
each release, and this is the reason for me using the new release as-is instead
of patching old versions.

  [Regression Potential]
  * This is part of virtualbox on Debian and Ubuntu since bionic and 3 months

  Author: Gianfranco Costamagna
  Date: Tue Apr 24 00:15:39 2018 +0200

basically, I now detect at runtime the --check3d switch, and enable the
mesa override only for desktop and not for applications, the same as the
  official guest-additions packages do.

  this is the code:

  + if /usr/bin/VBoxClient --check3d 2>/dev/null; then
  +   if test -e /usr/lib/virtualbox/additions/00vboxvideo.conf;
then
  + cp -f /usr/lib/virtualbox/additions/00vboxvideo.conf
/etc/ld.so.conf.d/00vboxvideo.conf
  + ldconfig
  + fi
  + fi

  + if test -e /etc/ld.so.conf.d/00vboxvideo.conf; then
  + rm -f /etc/ld.so.conf.d/00vboxvideo.conf
  + ldconfig
  + fi

the update-alternatives switch can't work when 3d is not enabled, and
with user applications using mesa-specific features.

  [ upstream changes ]

  Version 5.1.38 (2018-05-09)

Linux hosts: support Linux 4.17 changes. Thank you Larry Finger
Linux guests: support Linux 4.16 and EL 7.5 kernels (bugs #17676 and #17678)
Linux guests: 3D fixes for recent guests (bug #17623)

  Version 5.1.36 (2018-04-17)
VMM: Fixed missing NULL pointer check in MMIO code.
Network: fixed VERR_INTNET_FLT_IF_NOT_FOUND when bridging to some adapters on
Windows hosts (possibly related bugs #15294, #15060, #13481)

  [Other info]
  After performing an "apt-get update && apt-get upgrade" on a Ubuntu 16.04.4
box, graphics fails to start. I use my laptop with text boot, then I log in and
issue "startx", with "/usr/lib/gnome-flashback/gnome-flashback-metacity" in my
~/.xinitrc file. After update, "startx" (Xorg) returns me to character prompt.
Same with KDE, and while WMaker seemed to start, I still couldn't run apps like
Firefox or Konsole. Tinkering with my system for about two hours I managed to
figure out that this behaviour is caused by some Virtualbox package. After
issuing "apt-get purge virtualbox*", the normal behaviour returned. Fortunately
I don't use Virtualbox, it was installed 'just in case', so I could remove it
without affecting everyday usage. But it seems that something in Virtualbox is
seriously broken.

A cut from apt's history.log after upgrade and before package removal:

Ah, so you have the right one, at least now. The description of the bug said
you had the older one installed:

Apparently you upgraded since then. Can you confirm this is happening

[Bug 1780930] Re: [SRU] ceph 10.2.10

2018-07-11 Thread Robie Basak
Hello James, or anyone else affected,

Accepted ceph into xenial-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ceph/10.2.10-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 in a
few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed.Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-xenial to verification-done-xenial. If it does not
fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the
tag to verification-failed-xenial. In either case, details of your
testing will help us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

2018-07-11 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
Since you resolved your problem via a manual reinstall and there hasn't
been any other similar reports since, I'll go ahead and close this.

There might have been an 17.10-18.04 upgrade issue, but that would be
rather hard to track down if it was the case.

[Bug 1780664] Re: Recent libgl-mesa graphics update prevents drop down list menu appearing in apps like firefox three line/bar menu icon

2018-07-11 Thread Patrick Wigmore
This appears to be the same bug I am experiencing.

Graphical regression

Kubuntu xenial/16.04.4
Intel HD Graphics 530

Symptoms:
* Under KDE Plasma 5, the blur effect for most widgets with a transparent
background is not rendered. Instead, an opaque background is rendered.

* The on-screen display provided by KMix when adjusting the volume using
keyboard hotkeys is not rendered. Instead, only its background blur
effect is rendered.

* In some applications, some pop-up menu widgets do not render (they are
invisible). For example, in Clementine, the drop down menu on the Stop
button does not appear visibly when summoned, the main menus do not
appear visibly when summoned, and the right-click menu does not appear
visibly when summoned. In Firefox, the all-in-one "hamburger" menu, as
well as other pop-ups from the main toolbar, do not appear visibly when
summoned. However, the main menus (accessed by pressing Alt, if hidden)
do appear. In the print dialogs in Okular, the drop-downs for "Page set"
and for printer-specific settings do not drop down. (Selection has to be
made by blindly scrolling through options using the arrow keys.)

As remarked by others, menu and volume OSD visibility is restored by
using XRender instead of OpenGL 3.1, but there is no background blur
effect and the background of Plasma widgets remains opaque.

For completeness, here are the results of my investigation into which
packages were causing the problem. This seems very similar to what has
already been said.

The symptoms appeared after upgrading some packages using the package
manager (aptitude).

The following subset of the package upgrades that took place appear to have
caused the symptoms, since downgrading only these packages eliminates the
symptoms:
package / old version / new version
libwayland-egl1-mesa:amd64 17.2.8-0ubuntu0~16.04.1 18.0.5-0ubuntu0~16.04.1
libdrm-common:all 2.4.83-1~16.04.1 2.4.91-2~16.04.1

libegl1-mesa:amd64 17.2.8-0ubuntu0~16.04.1 18.0.5-0ubuntu0~16.04.1
libgl1-mesa-dri:i386 17.2.8-0ubuntu0~16.04.1 18.0.5-0ubuntu0~16.04.1
libgl1-mesa-dri:amd64 17.2.8-0ubuntu0~16.04.1 18.0.5-0ubuntu0~16.04.1
mesa-vdpau-drivers:amd64 17.2.8-0ubuntu0~16.04.1 18.0.5-0ubuntu0~16.04.1
libsensors4:i386 [not previously installed] 1:3.4.0-2

There were other package upgrades at the same time, but downgrading only these
packages eliminated the symptoms. There are no symptoms with the following
versions:
package / version downgraded to
libwayland-egl1-mesa:amd64 11.2.0-1ubuntu
libdrm-common:all 2.4.83-1
libdrm-dev:amd64 2.4.83-1
libdrm2:amd64 2.4.83-1
libdrm2:i386 2.4.83-1
libdrm-intel1:amd64 2.4.83-1
libdrm-intel1:i386 2.4.83-1
libdrm-radeon1:amd64 2.4.83-1
libdrm-radeon1:i386 2.4.83-1
libdrm-nouveau2:amd64 2.4.83-1
libdrm-nouveau2:i386 2.4.83-1
libdrm-amdgpu1:amd64 2.4.83-1
libdrm-amdgpu1:i386 2.4.83-1
libegl1-mesa:amd64 11.2.0-1ubuntu
libgl1-mesa-dri:i386 11.2.0-1ubuntu
libgl1-mesa-dri:amd64 11.2.0-1ubuntu
mesa-vdpau-drivers:amd64 11.2.0-1ubuntu
libsensors4:i386 [removed]

(N.B. I downloaded the 2.4.83-1 versions of the libdrm packages manually
from archive.ubuntu.com since the older version 2.4.67-1 in the xenial
repository created many dependency problems. These are therefore not
precisely the same package version as they were before the upgrade that
caused the symptoms.)

[Bug 1762952] Re: Alternative shortcut for layout switching Alt+Shift unexpectedly set by default

2018-07-11 Thread yoosofan
Is there a reason why we cannot use CapsLock for changing layout?
CapsLock is the most simplest key for changing layout when you want to work
with both hand while writing a mixed text of two language. Actually CapsLock
does not use to its main function because people barely write with a lot of
bold words and using shift for occasionally one letter is very common,

@yoosofan: Several options, including CapsLock, are available to switch
layout. If you want to suggest that to be the default option in Ubuntu,
you'd better approach the GNOME developers:

Re: [Bug 1623440] Re: package mysql-server-5.7 5.7.15-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2018-07-11 Thread K Markey
I suppose I can reply directly.  I suppose I should post this...

I only recently found a solution to my problem.  First, some history:

When I installed Ubuntu and mysql, I needed to import databases from a
previous installation on a Mac.  Nine years earlier I had moved the same
database from Ubuntu to the Mac.  But my Mac had failed.  I had file
backup, but not the *mysqldump* backup. So the easiest way to restore
the Mac's DB to Ubuntu was to copy the entire mysql datadir to Ubuntu.
I did the following:

1. I copied my backup to a more desirable location than in /var
2. After stopping the service, I moved /var/lib/mysql to
/var/lib/altmysql to keep it around just in case.
3. I modified *datadir* in /etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d/mysqld.cnf to point
to the new location.
4. After attempting to restart the server, I realized I needed to modify
apparmor.d locations to enable access.
5. I updated character set changes to my desired *utf8* default.
6. I restarted mysql.  Everything worked.

I believe I also needed to run one process that I haven't documented to
modify some system tables from 5.5 to 5.7.

It works except for the Ubuntu upgrades.  E.g...

I realized that Debian insists on mysql having a user for upgrade post
processing, and that after copying wholesale the old Mac DB, that user
was no longer on the system.  So, finally, a month later and a dollar
short, I add the user...

Yes, apparently soon I'll need to add the user instead of merely adding
the password.

I attempt another "sudo apt-get upgrade" and get some but not all of the
same errors.  I run "sudo apt install -f".  Same thing.  I run
"mysql_upgrade" directly.  Same errors.  But only one is fatal, and this
was unique to my machine, which had an extra empty database subdirectory
under the mysql datadir.  My bad!  Removed the offending directory.
Rinse and repeat.  "mysql_upgrade" now works.  Running "sudo apt install
-f" finishes the installation. It needs to set up the meta-package
"mysql-server" now that the "mysql-server-5.7" is finally installed.
Success!

Now updates work regularly.

I suppose when mysql requires a change to mysqld.cnf, it will complain
that I've modified datadir, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Thanks

Kevin Markey

[Bug 1781015] Re: Calamares fails in UEFI mode after external command in Lubuntu Cosmic

2018-07-11 Thread sudodus
@Simon,

But I want to add that in BIOS mode (alias CSM in this Toshiba laptop)
it is possible to install Lubuntu Cosmic from the cosmic-desktop-
amd64.iso file dated dated July 11 2018.

This is a great step forward :-)

So now we can focus on UEFI mode and in the next step secure boot.

[Bug 1774279] Re: unable to create pools before OSD's are up and running

This works around the issue; we need a more complete solution but this
at least gets automated deployments with vault based dmcrypt keys
running again.

Ok thanks, we will try this workaround in one of our deployment to see
if we can reproduce the behavior.

[Bug 1774279] Re: unable to create pools before OSD's are up and running

2018-07-11 Thread James Page
Raising Ubuntu task; it would be nice if we could tell the ceph-mon
cluster how many OSD's there *will* be, rather than it defaulting to '3'
if there are no OSD's currently checked in.

This will require a new configuration option and adoption by the ceph
project.

For a charm based deployment, the value of 'in' osds is unreliable until
the cloud is fully deployed; having this trip hazard is non-ideal.

[Bug 1750356] Re: Apache2: BalancerMember worker hostname (65.character.host.name) too long

2018-07-11 Thread Robie Basak
I'm not very keen on this from an SRU perspective. RFC or not, it's
really a feature addition (the support for longer hostnames for
BalancerMember) and the patch implements it as such (across nine source
files). This makes the patch difficult to review comprehensively.

Do we really need this in an SRU? Can affected users use shorter
hostnames instead?

[Bug 1768379] Re: python3-minimal should predepend on versioned version of python3-minimal

2018-07-11 Thread Brian Murray
It's not clear to me what is going on in the ubuntu-make autopkgtest for
artful/s390x but the failure isn't related to my SRU. From the log:

Investigating (0) autopkgtest-satdep:s390x < 0 @iU mK Nb Ib >
Broken autopkgtest-satdep:s390x Depends on ubuntu-desktop:s390x < none @un H >
  Removing autopkgtest-satdep:s390x because I can't find ubuntu-desktop:s390x
Done

There is no ubuntu-desktop for s390x in artful, so the failure makes
sense.

[Bug 1435020] Re: Custom Shortcut keybindings does not work

Custom media keys shortcuts will not work without re-login on 18.04. I
believe it's a regression from g-s-d. However if you enable commands
from ccsm, those will work automatically.

Public bug reported:

After installing Ubuntu version 18.04, I tried to install virtualbox,
virtualbox-dkms, virtualbox-ext-pack and virtualbox-guest-additions-iso
using Synaptic. All were successful except virtualbox-ext-pack. I then
copied a VM previously used under Ubuntu 16.04 and ran it. It
complained about the lack 0f the ect-pack, so I returned to Synaptic and
this time it appeared to intall. Subsequently, the VM ran OK and still
appears to do so.
