[Bug 1797673] [NEW] mute/unmute key function semi-working
Public bug reported: So, apparently, when i press the key function "mute/unmute" on lubuntu default, the audio goes mute, BUT, if i press the mute/unmute key again, the audio doesn't unmute, it seems a one-way function only. tested on multiple lubuntu on at least 3 - 4 laptops, every laptop got the same result. Attached System profiler and benchmark if needed What you expected to happen: Pressing the mute/unmute button again, the audio returns What happened instead Nothing, the audio remain muted even if i press the button again, like a one-way switch ** Affects: lubuntu-default-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: audio mute sound unmute ** Attachment added: "System profiler and benchkmark report" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1797673/+attachment/5200569/+files/hardinfo_report.html ** Tags added: mute sound unmute -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1797673 Title: mute/unmute key function semi-working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lubuntu-default-settings/+bug/1797673/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1791193] Re: errores dmesg
it may not be a bug but a flaw in logwatch as the message just says that an error collector has been initialized so it is more likely an info. [Bug 1450588] Re: /var/log/dmesg No Longer Being Updated
./debian/rsyslog.dmesg.upstart was shipped by rsyslog package in Trusty and/or other releases. It was: start on runlevel [2345] task script savelog -q -p -c 5 /var/log/dmesg dmesg -s 524288 > /var/log/dmesg chgrp adm /var/log/dmesg end script Thus if such functionality is desired to be preserved, imho rsyslog should be shipping a similar configuration or unit. Note that journald pushes all entries to rsyslog, thus i would have thought it could have generated /var/log/dmesg using normal rsyslog logging configuration facilities. I'm not sure how to configure rsyslog correctly to retain these. But I can write an equivalent systemd unit: $ systemctl cat dmesg # /etc/systemd/system/dmesg.service [Unit] Description=Save kernel messages [Service] Type=idle ExecStartPre=/usr/bin/savelog -q -p -c 5 /var/log/dmesg ExecStart=/bin/sh -c '/bin/dmesg -s 524288 > /var/log/dmesg' ExecStartPost=/bin/chgrp adm /var/log/dmesg [Install] WantedBy=multi-user.target The dmesg command can be approximated with the following journalctl command, which may have more data than dmesg ring-buffer: $ journalctl --boot 0 --dmesg --output short-monotonic --quiet --no- pager --no-hostname however, that is slightly incompatible format due to the extra `kernel:` stanza after the timestamp [1195009.811669] kernel: aufs au_plink_put:436:umount[15188]: pseudo- link is not flushed --boot 0 -> means to show output from current boot only --dmesg -> means to show dmesg logs only --output short-monotonic -> means to prefix things with regular [monotonic] time in dmesg like format --quiet -> disables the headers with when the logs/boot started finished --no-pager -> dumps to stdout, instead of less --no-hostname -> supresses the hostname entry which is injected between time and kernel: normally E.g. on my system journalctl command above recovers things from 0.00 time microcode updated, instead of from very late messages. Imho journalctl should suppress the `kernel:` as that should be implied by --dmesg flag. Depending on how much things happen during boot, i'm not sure if dmesg should be used, or journalctl to retrieve the boot log. ** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1450588 Title: /var/log/dmesg No Longer Being Updated To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rsyslog/+bug/1450588/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Marking as invalid for systemd package. As neither it, nor upstart shipped the functionality in question. It is a regression in the rsyslog package. [Bug 1264368] Re: GLib-CRITICAL **: Source ID was not found when attempting to remove it - warning when leaving Network menu of g-c-c
The message is emitted by glib: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/glib/commit/a919be3d39150328874ff647fb2c2be7af3df996 The commit log description is: "gmain: Warn when g_source_remove() fails". So why is it calling g_critical() instead of g_warning()? Obviously, it's not a critical error, if people are able to live with these annoying messages for five years with no obvious ill effects. Critical errors are often routed to /dev/console, and it's clearly inappropriate to escalate these messages that high. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1264368 Title: GLib-CRITICAL **: Source ID was not found when attempting to remove it - warning when leaving Network menu of g-c-c To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/androidsdk/+bug/1264368/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1797002] Re: all my bluetooth headsets skips terribly after todays update
hi, FINALLY, i was able to localize problem :) all my headsets are skipping only when setting window is open! so basically when you click test left or test right - it is in settings window and thus it sounds terribly. But, if you close setting window - every headset works just fine (on online radio for example). my guess would be that while settings window is open - system constantly looking for available devices and thus interfere with present devices. Sorry guys for all these troubles, meanwhile solution was so simple. [Bug 1776563] Re: Acer Aspire A315 IOAPIC failure on Ubuntu 18.04, kernel hangs, can't load, kernel freeze (AMD Ryzen 5/Radeon/Raven) / AMDGPU Hybrid crash
I've got some interesting news. I did in fact contact Acer Support and opened a case. Went from Lvl1 to Lvl2 support, was called a couple weeks later with a survey about support, I gave my honest opinion, stating that I don't blame support team as they are limited in what they can do. Today I received a call from LVL3 support! They wanted me to go over my problem in more detail. I let them know of the issues with disassembly and the calling of scopes and functions that do not even exist in the firmware, and that they may be doing something in software with windows drivers to hide it or make it work anyway. He did let me know that they do target the Windows 10 audience and couldn't promise anything, but then I mentioned with the way Windows 10 updates are going I doubt Acer is going to continue to rewrite drivers everytime Microsoft breaks them with their updates, and considering how terrible QA is with windows updates lately having it all just built correctly in firmware to begin with would avoid that. The man agreed and laughed a little. I let him know about iasl and asked if he could have the team look into acpi a little better and that I knew they had dealt with linpus in the past which is effectively just fedora, so I know they have some experience with Linux. I also mentioned my model wasn't the only one affected by these oddities and there were threads in ubuntu, fedora, and the linux kernel's bug system. He agreed to pass on the issues and information to the engineering team in Taiwan. Fingers crossed. So far the customer support has blown away Samsung. I'm not holding my breath for a fix, but I am impressed I got this far. The LVL3 support guy said he'd call me back when he got a response from Taiwan's Engineers. So I'm guessing within a couple weeks. I told him I understood it wouldn't be a quick response, or even a quick fix if they agreed. He was very cordial and the conversation went well at the least. Thumbs up for Acer Customer Support guys. [Bug 1797649] [NEW] receive authentication canceled in terminal when changing options in "Other Software"
Public bug reported: I've tried to disable some PPAs in the "Other Software" tab of software- properties and whenever I check a box for the first time I get a message in the terminal about "ERROR:root:Authentication canceled, changes have not been saved" (although an authentication dialog has not appeared) and the dialog box greys out.
