Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 1806165] Re: Ubuntu 18.10 I get logged off on resume from suspend - Unregistered Authentication Agent for unix-session
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1806165 Title: Ubuntu 18.10 I get logged off on resume from suspend - Unregistered Authentication Agent for unix-session To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1806165/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1750197] Re: App grid animation causes heavy CPU spikes and dropped frames in Wayland & Xorg
Those upstream fixes (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome- shell/issues/349) were actually authored by Canonical. They will appear in Ubuntu when we ship gnome-shell 3.32 (likely Ubuntu 19.04). Note however the high CPU (not the animation smoothness) fix (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gjs/merge_requests/236) is being backported already, in bug 1803271. In hindsight though I could have used this bug instead... Also, given how simple the fix for the animation smoothness is (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/merge_requests/253) then I think yes it would be easy to get that backported to existing Ubuntu releases. ** No longer affects: mutter (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1750197 Title: App grid animation causes heavy CPU spikes and dropped frames in Wayland & Xorg To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1750197/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1806272] Re: resize2fs results in ext4 filesystem with warning/errors
This looks like a dup of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/e2fsprogs/+bug/1798562 and is fixed by: commit 4b3038134baf81c6f9bd36dbbf565ea66e46331f Author: Theodore Ts'o Date: Sat Oct 20 09:14:48 2018 -0400 resize2fs: update checksums in the extent tree's relocated block When shrinking an file system, and we need to relocate an inode, the checksums in its extent tree must get updated to reflect its new inode number. When doing this, we need to do this *after* we update the extent tree to reflect any blocks which need to be relocated due to the file system shrink operation. Otherwise, in the case where only an interior node of the extent tree needs to get relocated, and none of the entries in that node need to be adjusted, the checksum for that interior node is updated in the old copy of that block, and then after the extent tree is updated to use the new copy of that interior node, the extent tree is left with an invalid checksum. This is a relatively rare case, since it requires the following conditions to be true: *) The metadata checksum feature must be enabled. *) An inode needs to be relocated. *) The inode needs to have an interior node. *) The block for that interior node needs to be relocated. *) None of blocks addressed by entries in that interior node needs to be relocated. When all of these conditions are true, though, the file system is left with corrupted with bad checksum for the extent tree block. Addresses-Launchpad-Bug: 1798562 Signed-off-by: Theodore Ts'o Reported-by: Jean-Baptiste Lallement If you're up for downloading the latest maint branch from e2fsprogs and give it a try to see if it fixes your issue, since you have a reliable repro, I would really appreciate it. Sorry no longer have Ubuntu installed on my machine..! What I can confirm was that at the time it was a fresh install of Ubuntu 18.04 Beta (about a month before it's actual full release), I believe I had all the updates. In general terms with this computer model of mine, screen corruption after the computer sleeping has been an on and off problem, particularly with the Ubuntu distro on different versions..! [Bug 1797386] Re: [SRU] OpenSSL 1.1.1 to 18.04 LTS
Here is a quick update on this SRU. Bringing in Apache support is currently not in scope. However, this can be investigated separately and possibly would most likely look like a targetted backport of mod_ssl, rather than a full upgrade of all of the apache2. But again only after OpenSSL 1.1.1 SRU is completed. It is investigated to bring OpenSSH compiled against libcrypto 1.1.1 support. But again only after OpenSSL 1.1.1 SRU is complete. The current goal is to SRU OpenSSL 1.1.1 without causing any regressions to the dependent packages, which is quite a large task. In practice that does mean enabling TLS1.3 support in a few packages that are affected by the new handshake. As stated, this SRU is being staged https://launchpad.net/~ci-train-ppa- service/+archive/ubuntu/3473 possibly with a better stage page of the currently expected runtime regressions as shown at this page https://bileto.ubuntu.com/excuses/3473/bionic.html As you can see there, this upgrade cannot land until after relevant python/perl/ruby/R changes are also brought in. Python stack is mostly ready now, the others will be quite easier to test and land. If you can, I do urge you to test https://launchpad.net/~ci-train-ppa- service/+archive/ubuntu/3473 PPA on bionic with your workloads to spot breakage, incompatibility, and/or any unexpected connectivity issues (client<->server protocol negotiation failures). My personal goal is to land this in time / well ahead of the next bionic point release (currently penciled in for 7th February). But this is not a guarantee or a firm commitment that one can bank on. I hope this update helps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1797386 Title: [SRU] OpenSSL 1.1.1 to 18.04 LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssl/+bug/1797386/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1806291] [NEW] Tilda opens terminal window and hangs (freeze)
Public bug reported: Having a number of crash issues in Unbunt mate 16.04 when loading programs that freeze the cursor and desktop when launched/run from a terminal. It not one individual program, as can happen anytime a program begins to run. Just today it acurrs when loging in WIFI network. I am confussed by the amount of debug informaton and that which is outdated. Trying to explore the default debug programs that are pkged with Ubuntu mate. not sure yet which thse are or what PKGS are required, due to the information found on the online. Does apport require Whoopsie to file a report. When installed and doing ls - l /var/crash all reports are prfixed with name Whoopsie. Then I see debug command can be run as apport-cli (-f) or pkg name. Ubutu-debug (Alt + F2) only list installed programs. My issues seems to be more systematic than programs. Installed apport-gtk, it does not launch/run at command line. At a lose as to where to start debugging as not been able know how to debug system. For ezxample if I run the program with debug (tilda) using ubuntu-debug then other programs in .xsession-errors start to load, sudk as bluepromity and KDE, the tilda drop down opens but no debugging occurs. the other lauched pkgs gnerate ther own errors. So this time around I used apport-cli tilda option S When I fist time run and selected to view report the tile name was something like CPU core meltdown. Now I am starting to get ownership issues from firefox. (/usr/lib/firefox/firefox:6538): dconf-WARNING **: Unable to open /var/lib/snapd/desktop/dconf/profile/user: Permission denied I created a new admin user and deletd he old but left the deleted admin/user home directory. As mention mistaken I ran Bleachbit and removed the older user .cache and belive it removed the old user profile that I was hopping to trans the bookmarks to the new account. I changed the GID in group (admin (user name)) for the new admin/user from 10001 to 1000 (the old Admin. Added new admin to sudo. Deleted the old Amin from all groups. Yet now see not so simply done. I do so in hopes of avoiding possible prior Networking and LXC/LXD conflicts and concerns about other programs such as geomagpy CDF file network viewing. The resaon I made the new admin/user account was do to a mate-panel problem I described in a prior bug report. The panle did not appear after booting.. There seems to be a matter of various msgs reporting the a inappropriate window manager is being used. The best I can determine is its some thing like. As stated in prior report I had to run command mate-panle ( to display) then marco reset( to have window funtions) I ran Pkg compiz reconfigure and compiz reset and think servive compiz restart. I dont want to overstate this here as its another bug report but this seeemed to be the culprit that led to bigger issue and creating a new admin/user. The .xsession-errors carried over Now see ERROR: apport (pid 15949) Sat Dec 1 16:56:19 2018: called for pid 3362, signal 11, core limit 0, dump mode 1 ERROR: apport (pid 15949) Sat Dec 1 16:56:19 2018: executable: /usr/bin/mate-panel (command line "mate-panel") ERROR: apport (pid 15949) Sat Dec 1 16:56:19 2018: gdbus call error: Error connecting: Could not connect: Connection refused ERROR: apport (pid 15949) Sat Dec 1 16:56:19 2018: debug: session gdbus call: ERROR: apport (pid 15949) Sat Dec 1 16:56:25 2018: wrote report /var/crash/_usr_bin_mate-panel.1001.crash [Sun Dec 2 10:31:39 2018] magic group: gid=0 (root) [Sun Dec 2 10:31:39 2018] logfile: /var/log/ninja.log [Sun Dec 2 10:31:39 2018] whitelist mapped in memory at 0x7f5348386000 [Sun Dec 2 10:31:39 2018] entering daemon mode [Sun Dec 2 10:31:39 2018] entering main loop [Sun Dec 2 10:31:39 2018] generating initial pid array.. There is no reason that using an absolute rather than a relative symlink for this file would fix "slow" DNS. Those two symlinks point to the same real file, and either the symlink works and your DNS resolves the same, or the symlink doesn't work and you get no DNS at all. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1725840 Title: resolvconf not correctly configured after update from 17.04 to 17.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cubic/+bug/1725840/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

HOWTO REPRODUCE apt-get install mysql-server-5.7 mysql-client-5.7 apt-get purge mysql-server-5.7 mysql-client-5.7 apt-get install mariadb-server-10.1 mariadb-client-10.1 DISCUSSION The mysql-server-5.7 package install an /etc/apparmor.d/usr.sbin.mysqld APPARMOR(7) profile: # dpkg -S /etc/apparmor.d/usr.sbin.mysqld mysql-server-5.7: /etc/apparmor.d/usr.sbin.mysqld When purging the mysql-server-5.7 server package get purged, the /etc/apparmor.d/usr.sbin.mysqld profile is also removed but, it is still loaded: # aa-status | grep 'mysqld' /usr/sbin/mysqld This lead to MariaDB 1.0 server not being able to start due to MySQL 5.7 APPARMOR(7) profile that is still loaded. Furthermore, the mariadb-server-10.1 also comes with an APPARMOR(7) profile which as per it header comments is "intensionally empty to disable apparmor by default for newer versions of MariaDB". This is a big mistake as such a profile is simply wrong in regard of APPARMOR_PARSER(8) and as such, won't be unloaded: # apparmor_parser -v -R /etc/apparmor.d/usr.sbin.mysqld # aa-status | grep 'mysqld' /usr/sbin/mysqld while: # echo "/usr/sbin/mysqld { }" > /etc/apparmor.d/usr.sbin.mysqld # apparmor_parser -v -R /etc/apparmor.d/usr.sbin.mysqld Removal succeeded for "/usr/sbin/mysqld". # aa-status | grep 'mysqld' FIX PROPOSAL 1. When mysql-server-5.7 package is being removed/purged, the APPARMOR(7) profile should be unloaded and removed ranther than be simply removed. 2. The profile provided by the mariadb-server-10.1 package should have correct syntax in regard of APPARMOR_PARSER(8) 3.
