[Bug 1805920] Re: iPXE ignores vlan 0 traffic
Thank Vern for outlining your testcase. @Vern Doesn't that also have to include some component that does QoS management adding the VLAN-0 tag? I don't have the systems to verify this case on Bionic and Cosmic. As I read it from Vern he can only test Bionic at the Customer and is unsure he can test Cosmic the same way. @MAAS team - Would you have a MAAS tets environment that you can re-use to verify this? If so could you confirm that you can locally trigger the bug as it is today so that we can rely on it on SRU processing? @Vern - if above is Nack'ed by the MAAS team could you ask if you could if could get nodes to verify that on Cosmic as well. As I read your test description I think it would be enough to bump the node that is supposed to start the guest to Cosmic+Proposed then - no need to update all systems to Cosmic. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1805920 Title: iPXE ignores vlan 0 traffic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1805920/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1808266] Re: Docker daemon drops all bound ports, recovers them after long docker ps
Thanks for taking a look, Tianon. You're right that Docker appears to be behaving normally... running journalctl -b I see that the system did in fact reboot causing the Docker shutdown, and that it came back online at 19:29:45 with multiuser system target being reached at 19:30:04. So my issue is with why it took systemd so long after bootup to start dockerd, not with Docker itself... apologies for not checking that out first. [Bug 1568604] Re: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics
I'm seeing something like this on a 32bit Acer laptop - with Intel graphics - running Kubuntu 18.04.1 - it's been doing it for quite a long time - but it's still a current bug - I did a full apt upgrade/update just today. When the machine awakes from a sleep (eg with by closing and opening the lid) the mouse cursor is gone - and the whole screen below the mouse position is white. So as you move the mouse up and down and it covers and uncovers the entire screen. You have no way to tell where the X position of the mouse is - but it does seem to work and you can still click on things. Switching to a different virtual console and back again using Ctrl-Alt- Fn seems to fix it...until the machine goes to sleep again. I have added a patch which applies both upstream merge requests linked above. I was not above to successfully set up pbuilder, but built and tested it successfully with debuild in a bionic VM. Subscribing ubuntu- sru in accordance with http://packaging.ubuntu.com/html/security-and- stable-release-updates.html as I'm pretty sure the change I'm requesting would be a stable release update. [Bug 1780841] Re: ubuntu-release-upgrader should transition debs to snaps
Not sure if this should get a new ticket, but if `snap debug connectivity` fails, the whole upgrade mysteriously aborts (user sees ```Reading state information... Done Restoring original system state Aborting ``` and `main.log` shows ```2018-12-12 21:24:20,067 DEBUG running Quirks.bionicPostInitialUpdate 2018-12-12 21:24:20,367 DEBUG abort called ``` with literally no other output anywhere. `strace` is what finds the `snap debug connectivity` call, and `service snapd status` shows `Active: failed (Result: start-limit-hit)` - `service snapd start` fixes that and `do-release-upgrade` goes through fine. Re: [Bug 1600622] Re: Screen doesn't lock or go to sleep when certain Chrome tabs are open
I have noticed that a) systemctl suspend does actually suspend, but it takes about 30 seconds. I'm on 18.04.1 with kernel 4.18.0-13-generic from the proposed PPA This is quite surprising, but good news. I don't know why this is working now. It works with either Chromium or Chrome open, with hangouts running. Because gnome uses systemctl suspend, this means that manual suspend from gnome shell is also working. I just suspended right now with a hangouts conversation in progress and a Zoom meeting started, and it succeeded. Maybe the more recent kernel fixes it? b) pkexec systemctl -i suspend (run with root privileges) always works, but this is less suprising, since -i means ignore inhibitors. [Bug 1808266] [NEW] Docker daemon drops all bound ports, recovers them after long docker ps
Public bug reported: This event ocourred on a single-node Docker.io version 18.06.1-0ubuntu1~18.04.1, Docker version Docker version 18.06.1-ce, build e68fc7a, Ubuntu version 18.04.1 LTS, kernel Linux 4.15.0-42-generic #45-Ubuntu SMP Thu Nov 15 19:32:57 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux. At 2018-12-12 19:30:04, our uptime monitor detected that all sites hosted in Docker containers, with ports exposed to the outside world, were down. Upon investigation, netstat showed that docker did not have any ports open, and ip addr showed that docker had no network interfaces. Finally, after various troubleshooting attempts, I ran "docker ps" at the command prompt. The ps command, which normally returns instantly, produces no output and hung. I hit ^C and re-ran the command. After a few seconds, the command returned that all containers which should have been running were running. Netstat and ip addr showed normal Docker network configuration, and all containers sprung back to life with normal functionality. I suspect this means that the docker daemon hung, and docker ps somehow returned it to its normal state. Unfortunately debug mode wasn't on, and I have been unable to reproduce. I've enabled it and will update back if it recurs. I've attached the journalctl (truncated to start at 1900 hours) and the stack tract manually generated with a SIGUSR1 after everything went back to normal. ** Affects: docker.io (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "docker_service_journal.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1808266/+attachment/5221825/+files/docker_service_journal.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1808266 Title: Docker daemon drops all bound ports, recovers them after long docker ps To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/docker.io/+bug/1808266/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1808264] [NEW] caldav free-busy query is broken
Public bug reported: A couple of bugs are present which make CalDAV scheduling effectively useless - the combined effect of them is that everyone else shows as having your availability information, rather than their own. I am submitting here rather than to Debian as the versions of this package in Debian are out of lockstep with Ubuntu's, so the patch doesn't cleanly transfer -- let me know if this is the wrong approach. [Bug 1805546] Re: ubuntu is using half of my battery
Thanks. It appears Chrome is using the most power there, followed by gnome-shell which is a result of Chrome and other apps redrawing. So we can't blame "Ubuntu" for using the battery. The current versions of Chrome, and even the sites it visits, didn't exist in 16.04 so you can't really compare 18.04 to 16.04 in that respect. Unless 'powertop' on this machine suggests any kind of low-level device or kernel problems, we will need to find a software configuration that works (doesn't use so much power). Then we would be able to identify roughly when some regression occurred. [Bug 1776563] Re: Acer Aspire A315 IOAPIC failure on Ubuntu 18.04, kernel hangs, can't load, kernel freeze (AMD Ryzen 5/Radeon/Raven) / AMDGPU Hybrid crash
Hi All...Have A315-41-R8UU Bios v. 1.11. What I have tested: Debian 9 Stretch [with firmware] kernel 4.9x, xfce4...This boots, without issue, but haven't tested out it's stability long-term. No boot args needed. Brightness controls do not work. Also tested openSUSE Leap 15, no boot args, KDE edition. Brightness controls do not work. Will eventually freeze after some time idle. On both distros, get the same acpi bugs during boot. To try and mitigate some of the BIOS bugs, I turned off WoL, SATA ch1, Open Lid resume, Disable TPM (would get tpm errors on boot), D2D Recovery disabled, secure boot disabled, and basic touchpad. Oddly, when attempting to install xubuntu 18 LTS or debian 9 testing, that's when I get all the errors described above. I have added the ivrs_ioapic[4]=00:14.0 ivrs_ioapic[5]=0:00.2 to grub when trying to run the installers, and they will indeed run, at low resolution. Why would older kernels run without the boot params for acpi, while these newer kernels will not? Maybe this can help someone?
