[Bug 1709877] Re: CPU hotplug fails in the system with empty numa nodes, "Invalid value '0-1, 16-17' for 'cpuset.mems': Invalid argument"
A proper documentation of a limitation is just as much effort as a fix since it is known in this case. And I like to fix things, I just wanted to make sure that the case is real. You will have to check the PPA and later in the processing of the bug you'll have to do the SRU verification as you are the only one with such a system to trigger and verify the issue. Please could you explicitly state that you are also willing and able to do the SRU verification later on? Otherwise the SRU hangs around forever and blocks other things. I have rebased (wow 10 versions since our last try) the fix that I had and created a new PPA for you at [1]. Please could you verify that PPA, if the fix is ok we can go on to start the SRU process on this. [Bug 1810022] Re: Totem does not play MOV file with x264 encoding
Also since you get this after following Seb's advice: totem 1.MOV double free or corruption (!prev) Aborted (core dumped) we next need to get some information about that crash. Please follow these instructions to find the crash details and send them to us: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. [Bug 1810444] Re: The screen freezes
OK. Firstly, you seem to have one kernel message flooding the log: [ 44.158265] Audio Port: ASoC: no backend DAIs enabled for Audio Port [ 44.158962] Audio Port: ASoC: no backend DAIs enabled for Audio Port [ 44.159402] Audio Port: ASoC: no backend DAIs enabled for Audio Port So I would suggest using a newer kernel on this machine. [Bug 1809692] Re: distorted lines when using google chrome browser
Thanks. That's either a bug in the web browser, graphics driver, or even in the web page. I would first assume it's a bug in the web browser, but unfortunately Google Chrome is not part of Ubuntu so we can't handle that here. [Bug 1809660] Re: When starting new user session, new gdm session may spawn
I can only guess. gdm3 will usually run the login screen on VT1 only. The second login screen on VT3 may be either a pure mistake (gdm3 not knowing what is current at the time), or it might be a fallback if changing to VT1 briefly wasn't possible (for some reason). Either way it's failing to clean up. I suggest the next step is to report the bug to the gdm developers here: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gdm And when done please let us know the new bug ID. ** Changed in: gdm3 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1809660 Title: When starting new user session, new gdm session may spawn To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1809660/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1809517] Re: OS freezes after screen turns off and I return to account
I did interpret "I have disabled Ubuntu from requiring my password after the screen turns off" as automatic login/no password. Maybe that's incorrect. So a few questions: 1. Does your login have a password and/or is it configured for automatic login? 2. Is the dock ("taskbar") visible on the "landing page"? 3. Does re-locking (Super+L) and re-unlocking the system get around the problem? 4.
