[Bug 1799853] Re: German translation of "Create New Note" template breaks functionality
Something is strange in general with the localization stuff in Tomboy. See the recording in the attachment: Everything in the UI is in English (Menus, Columns, etc.) but when I create a new note, it's title is in German and runs into that particular bug. What is interesting here as well: it is working when I load Gnome as a Desktop environment but it shows the buggy behaviour on KDE. ** Attachment added: "English UI but German template" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tomboy/+bug/1799853/+attachment/5256227/+files/tomboy_bug.gif -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1799853 Title: German translation of "Create New Note" template breaks functionality To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tomboy/+bug/1799853/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1824920] [NEW] 19.04 QA-test post-install really minor cosmetic issue
Public bug reported: I'm trying to follow the 19.04 Xubuntu QA-Test post-install script which is why this bug report. It's really petty/minor & could be just how I interpret the steps to follow. On locking screen, the displays power-save & go dark almost instantly. To wake them so I can see the password entry screen I hit (bottom right corner of keyboard) and instead of a password entry screen, a bright blue bar tells me I've entered my password incorrectly. It took the I used to 'wake' my screen as a password was entered & I want to return to my session. I did it again & used which was the expected result (my screen wakes on touch of key, with no entry into password prompt). I do it again and this time try and wake my keyboard using a random letter, it does wake the screen but I've got a "o" (black circle representing a character entered into the password field) on the display. I believe the first key should do nothing but wake the screen, not be interpreted as a password entry screen because the field hasn't appeared on screen yet. This is really minor - users will adjust to the way it is, and I probably only noticed it because I was following instructions as per QA- Test. [Bug 1824588] Re: Ubuntu Disco boots to or logs out to black screen
Thanks. Unfortunately that log is not helpful because it contains only one boot done in recovery mode with modesetting disabled: Apr 15 14:33:53 lance-desktop kernel: Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-5.0.0-11-generic root=UUID=ddacea78-cdda-4236-94c3-4c4d9d3dad20 ro recovery nomodeset Please reproduce the black screen problem once (ensuring that you are not booting into recovery mode*), then reboot again once, and then run: journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt to collect the log of the previous boot which had the problem, and send us the file 'prevboot.txt'. * To ensure you are not booting in recovery mode, as soon as the purple screen appears tap Escape. Then search through the menus and choose a kernel to boot that is not recovery mode. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1824588 Title: Ubuntu Disco boots to or logs out to black screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1824588/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1824415] Re: Vertical line screen flickers randomly appears on built-in laptop display only
I think that's a different flickering. That bug is about the Chromium web browser. This bug is about a hardware defect affecting bright/white areas of the LCD, and the fact that Linux handles hardware defects less elegantly than Windows does. So this remains a Linux kernel bug if anything. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1824415 Title: Vertical line screen flickers randomly appears on built-in laptop display only To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1824415/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1821609] Re: lightdm login screen briefly appears and then blanks out on Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5870
I will try to do videos for you tomorrow it is getting late in the day here .. a brief synopsis for now .. history: this is standard grub arrangement as "installed by default" used to work flawlessly with multiple partitions of various linux OS's .. It is only since early march that I noticed an issue with newer install disco boots failing .. I have an older disco install on sda1 which has been working all this time through without issues .. upgraded daily .. no alteration of netplan config or i915 module forcing.. I can prevent failures in two different ways .. add the module to /etc/modules or change netplan config to not use NetworkManager as the default.. attached my suspicion is that NetworkManager is crashing the system by running too early as on part of the failure.. the second part is slow loading of the necessary kernal module i915 this may be also the reason the plymouth (busy screen) does not show in the boot phase of the effected partitions which are all recent disco xubuntu spins.. an ubuntu install showed no issues .. wayland only works! When using the freshly installed grub with the partition it belongs to we get the first boot normal every thing works .. but on restarting again (2nd boot) xorg/lightdm initially crash then in about 6 seconds xorg/lightdm restarts ..and works on any other disco-xubuntu partition (except sda1) booting from this fresh grub .. we get the initial crash of xorg/lightdm and a locked system .. no restart of xorg/lightdm at all .. no console either .. only the power switch/ power removal works to reset .. and thus " a very perturbed and frustrated tester " ** Attachment added: "01-netcfg.yaml (password obscured)" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1821609/+attachment/5256176/+files/01-netcfg.yaml -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1821609 Title: lightdm login screen briefly appears and then blanks out on Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5870 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1821609/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
