2019-05-08 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Jochen, or anyone else affected,

Accepted nfs-utils into xenial-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nfs-
utils/1:1.2.8-9ubuntu12.2 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-xenial to verification-done-xenial. If it does not
fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the
tag to verification-failed-xenial. In either case, without details of
your testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[Bug 1585332] Re: Graphical snaps don't honour the desktop theme

2019-05-08 Thread Daniel Flaum
I'm on Fedora 30 here in May 2019, and this bug dismays me. From my
reading of the comments so far, the only problem with the solution in
#26 is that Snap applications may expect a different version of the
user's GTK theme than is installed.

Version mismatches may not be easy to fix--I don't know, I'm an outsider
--but surely it's easy to detect them? With that, can't the solution in
#26 be implemented so that it solves this bug at least for some users?

[Bug 1821130] Re: Sync twextpy 1:0.1~git20161216.0.b90293c-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2019-05-08 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Rahul, or anyone else affected,

Accepted twextpy into disco-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/twextpy/1:0.1~git20161216.0.b90293c-1.19.04.1
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-disco to verification-done-disco. If it does not fix
the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag
to verification-failed-disco. In either case, without details of your
testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

Two months left; it's a settings glitch in the UI which can be worked

[Bug 1813068] Re: rtl8812au 4.3.8.12175.20140902+dfsg-0ubuntu9 ADT test failure with linux 5.0.0-1.2

2019-05-08 Thread Connor Kuehl
Experiencing this same issue on bionic/linux-hwe-edge:

  amd64:
https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac
/autopkgtest-
bionic/bionic/amd64/r/rtl8812au/20190429_215013_0195c@/log.gz

https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac
/autopkgtest-
bionic/bionic/i386/r/rtl8812au/20190429_215359_0195c@/log.gz

To fix this, I've backported patches from rtl8812au in disco to
rtl8812au in bionic. No context changes were required.

Testing:

- Create Bionic 18.04 VM
- Install bionic/linux-hwe-edge kernel headers, image, and modules packages
from -proposed:
https://launchpad.net/~canonical-kernel-team/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+packages?field.name_filter=linux-hwe-edge_filter=published_filter=bionic
- Enable the -proposed repository in the VM
- "sudo apt update"
- Verify the version of rtl8812au-dkms is the one failing (found on this bug)
"apt show rtl8812au-dkms"
- "sudo apt install rtl8812au-dkms", confirm it fails at installation step
- Uninstall "sudo apt remove rtl8812au-dkms"
- "pull-lp-sources rtl8812au bionic"
- Apply the debdiff, this will change a little depending on your cwd:
"debdiff-apply < rtl8812au_4.3.8.12175.20140902+dfsg-0ubuntu8.1.debdiff"
- Build the package "debuild -us -uc"
- Install the .deb generated from the previous step
- Verify the package installs correctly "sudo dpkg --install
rtl8812au-dkms_4.3.8.12175.20140902+dfsg-0ubuntu8.1_all.deb"

[Bug 1828259] Re: [rocky][19.04] Upgrading a deployment from Queens to Rocky resulted in purging of neutron-l3-agent package

2019-05-08 Thread Corey Bryant
I'm using the following snippet of config and wasn't yet able to
recreate. I'm probably missing something in the config.

Looking at the neutron-ovs charm code it seems like this bug might
recreate if use_dvr() evaluates to false (ie. would prevent python3
-neutron-fwaas from being installed). I think we will always need to
install python3-neutron-fwaas when neutron-l3-agent is installed in
order to enable the upgrade of neutron-l3-agent to py3.

@Dmitrii, I'll try this scenario ^. If you think that's the scenario you
were hitting, let me know. I don't think it matches up with the bundle
config you shared though so we'll see.

[Bug 1828304] [NEW] QCA6174 slow transfer speeds

Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 19.04

A temporary solution as downloading linux-firmware 1.175.3 from cosmic-
updates, and overwriting binaries in ath10k/QCA6174/hw3.0/ with the
binaries from this package.

[Bug 1823778] Re: Unable to set Serbian as Language

2019-05-08 Thread Brian Murray
Hello momcilo78, or anyone else affected,

Accepted gnome-control-center into disco-proposed. The package will
build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
/gnome-control-center/1:3.32.1-1ubuntu4.1 in a few hours, and then in
the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-disco to verification-done-disco. If it does not fix
the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag
to verification-failed-disco. In either case, without details of your
testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[Bug 1828299] [NEW] update to netplan.io 0.97

2019-05-08 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
Public bug reported:

[Impact]
This release contains both bug-fixes and new features and we would like to
make sure all of our supported customers have access to these improvements.
The notable ones are:

   * [d96a6a0] networkd: force bringing up devices with no IP addresses
  (LP: #1763608)
   * Reworked renderer choosing to avoid regression in default renderer when
multiple files specify it globally (LP: #1825206) (already SRUed in a simpler
form)
   * Fixed networkd activation. (LP: #1821867) (already SRUed)

See the changelog entry below for a full list of changes and bugs.

[Test Case]
The following development and SRU process was followed:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NetplanUpdates

Netplan contains an extensive integration test suite that is ran using
the SRU package for each releases. This test suite's results are available here:
http://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/packages/n/netplan.io

A successful run is required before the proposed netplan package
can be let into -updates.

The netplan team will be in charge of attaching the artifacts and console
output of the appropriate run to the bug. Netplan team members will not
mark ‘verification-done’ until this has happened.

[Regression Potential]
In order to mitigate the regression potential, the results of the
aforementioned integration tests are attached to this bug.

[Discussion]
This addresses in priority an important issue with integration of netplan with
openvswitch; where devices are hard to bring up to hand over to openvswitch:
behavior was changed such that as soon as a device is listed in netplan config
(even without an IP), it gets brought online by the networkd renderer. This is
consistent with the idea of having only configured interfaces touched by
netplan; if the name of the itnerface appears in netplan YAML, it gets
configured (albeit without IP).

[Changelog]
ea47bd4 (tag: 0.97) parser: refactor / factor out validation and error reporting
a001750 parser: reorganize validation to happen in a single pass at the end of
parsing
3e99f59 Revert "parser: fix explicit backend assignment due to file merging"
(LP: #1825206)
3e732b7 (tag: 0.96.1) Fix failure in make install
a5389e5 doc: add notice about interfaces configured in YAML being brought up
16b297b Fix tests after reverting systemd-networkd.service's activation from
network-online.
ef43dd5 Partially revert the change for enabling systemd-networkd.
network-online.target may not be depended on by anything on minimal images, but
multi-user.target already is. (LP: #1821867)
d96a6a0 networkd: force bringing up devices with no IP addresses (LP: #1763608)

[Bug 1828294] [NEW] 100% CPU utilization

Version: 5.1.6.2
Build ID: 1:5.1.6~rc2-0ubuntu1~xenial6

I don't know if it's related, but I'm low on root disk space; only about
200-500MB.

I normally have about a dozen writer documents open, and 1-4
spreadsheets in calc open. Also, these documents are generally open
until a crash happens; Days, weeks...

I do not close most of these documents (nor exit libreoffice) for a very
long time, if ever. I only reboot the machine or quit libreoffice when
I'm forced to. So perhaps it's related to length of time open, I don't
know.

Hello Teemu, or anyone else affected,

Accepted bind9 into disco-proposed. The package will build now and be

[Bug 1828293] [NEW] [Queens -> Rocky Upgrade] python3-neutron-fwaas-dashboard installation: trying to overwrite '/etc/openstack-dashboard/neutron-fwaas-policy.json', which is also in package python-ne

2019-05-08 Thread Dmitrii Shcherbakov
Public bug reported:

The upgrade process from Queens to Rocky fails due to a failure to override a
policy file:
https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/tH4qrvP7mS/

The issue causes an upgrade action to exit prematurely which leaves the
dashboard in a broken state as the keystone v3 policy json file is not
rendered.

KEYSTONEV3_POLICY = ('/usr/share/openstack-dashboard/openstack_dashboard/conf/'
 'keystonev3_policy.json')

This is reproducible without charms by simply doing the following:

lxc launch ubuntu:bionic neutrontest
Creating neutrontest
Starting neutrontest

lxc exec neutrontest bash
root@neutrontest:~# apt update
root@neutrontest:~# apt install python-neutron-fwaas-dashboard

[Bug 1827501] Re: keyboard layout different changes during installation set-up and boot for de-encrypting unencrypting hard drive

2019-05-08 Thread apt-ghetto
Now I understand, what you mean with the asterisks.
I think, it is normal to hide the passwords. And you have to enter the password
twice, to ensure, that there are no typos. (And from a security point of view,
it would be even better not to show the asterisks)
During the installation, it uses the keyboard layout, which you have selected.
(Unless there is another bug.)

The problem is, that Grub does not have the information about the keyboard
layout, when it attempts to open the LUKS container (because these informations
are inside the LUKS container). It uses the American keyboard layout as default.
The other flavours don't have the /boot directory in an encrypted partition. So
Grub loads the kernel (or a part of it), and the kernel then opens the LUKS
container.

I would say, that dropping to a Grub rescue shell when entering the wrong
password is a bug, that should be solved.
And there is a request to improve the Calamares UI to provide a clear
information/message/warning, that Grub is using the American keyboard layout
for unlocking the LUKS container.
I am not sure, if it would be possible, to change the keyboard layout of Grub.
The packages of Grub are in main, and are not maintained by the team of Lubuntu.

[Bug 1819485] Re: AMD Rome : Additional patches

2019-05-08 Thread Kim Naru
SRU

[Impact]
Some house cleaning and adding PCI devices for Rome. The PCI topology patch is
so that the correct root PCI device gets used for the correct SMU access. With
the PCI topology patch, k10temp(thermal monitoring) will accurately provide the
temperature for both sockets. The MCE patch adds more robustness.

[Test Case]

On a Rome system, just load k10temp, and the sysfs entries are in:
localhost:/sys/bus/pci/drivers/k10temp/:00:*.3/hwmon/hwmonN/
on Rome and if you have sensors installed, sensors should display the
information.

[Regression Potential]
Risk is low as the code is localized to AMD specific hardware and what is
added is PCI awareness for devices on Rome.

[Other Info]
All these patches have already been accepted upstream.

[Bug 1828292] [NEW] Please remove old binaries (arm*, powerpc, ppc64el and s390x)

2019-05-08 Thread Dylan Aïssi
Public bug reported:

Please remove old binaries: arm64, armhf, powerpc, ppc64el and s390x.
They were wrongly built in older versions whereas they were not
functional due to some missing instructions. Now, upstream has fixed
their build systems to check requirements before to try to build. The
new version is blocked because of these missing build.

On arm64:

configure: ::--- no vector instruction set ---::
configure: HMMER3 requires SSE or VMX vector instructions.
configure: Supported platforms are x86 (Intel/AMD) and PowerPC.
configure: error: No supported vectorization found for your machine.

On ppc64el:

configure: ::--- no vector instruction set ---::
configure: HMMER3 Altivec/VMX only supports bigendian platforms: e.g.
ppc64 not ppc64le
configure: error: No supported vectorization found for your machine.

[Bug 1824434] Re: [0-day SRU] MAAS 2.6.0beta1

2019-05-08 Thread Robie Basak
Rejecting this upload because it does not appear to meet current Ubuntu
SRU policy and I haven't been given any argument to the contrary.

Specifically I presume you are aiming for
"https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Other_safe_cases; under
"For Long Term Support releases we sometimes want to introduce new
features", but this isn't targeted for an LTS release, and in any case I
don't see how a beta upstream release can be considered to "have a
minimal regression potential, and have been tested properly".

I just added a paragraph to
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Documentation_for_Special_Cases
in the hope that this clarifies things better.
