[Bug 1716857] Re: gdm3, hybrid nvidia with modeset=1, no external monitors detected

2019-05-15 Thread Jeremy Soller
The solution to this is to run X11 as root, so it can use VGA arbiter
and detect displays on both the NVIDIA and modesetting drivers.

Add this to /etc/X11/Xwrapper.config :
needs_root_rights = yes

[Bug 1754671] Re: Full-tunnel VPN DNS leakage regression

2019-05-15 Thread dwmw2
I am receiving reports that it isn't fixed in 18.04 either. Users are
still seeing DNS lookups on the local network, until they manually edit
the VPN config to include:

[ipv4]
dns-priority=-1
dns-search=~.;

I thought that wasn't going to be necessary?

[Bug 1829274] [NEW] ppd file has wrong language after cups update

2019-05-15 Thread pauljohn32
Public bug reported:

When the cups system is upgraded during an Ubuntu release, the ppd file
for the Konica Minolta printer that I use is replaced.

The PPD file I found on the Konica site starts like this:

```
*PPD-Adobe: "4.3"
*% Linux Version
[cut license]
*FormatVersion: "4.3"
*LanguageVersion: English
*LanguageEncoding: ISOLatin1
*FileVersion: "20002."
*Manufacturer: "KONICA MINOLTA"
*ModelName: "KONICA MINOLTA C451 PS/P"
*ShortNickName: "KONICA MINOLTA C451 PS(P)"
*NickName: "KONICA MINOLTA C451 PS(P)"
*PCFileName: "KOC451UX.ppd"
*Product: "(C451)"
*PSVersion: "(3015.102) 1"
```

When the system upgrade occurs (this has happened several times over the
years), the English language version is replaced by Chinese.

```
*PPD-Adobe: "4.3"
*% Linux Version
*FormatVersion: "4.3"
*LanguageVersion: Simplified Chinese
*LanguageEncoding: None
*FileVersion: "20002."
*Manufacturer: "KONICA MINOLTA"
*ModelName: "KONICA MINOLTA C451 PS/P"
*ShortNickName: "KONICA MINOLTA C451 PS(P)"
*NickName: "KONICA MINOLTA C451 PS(P)"
*PCFileName: "KOC451SCX.ppd"
*Product: "(C451)"
*PSVersion: "(3015.102) 1"
```

I asked about this in the "askubuntu" forum a few months ago, but waited till
now to say it really is a bug and report to you.
https://askubuntu.com/questions/1038456/printer-config-uses-wrong-language

The bad effect of this is that the printer menus do not have correct
English language labels and options, so you can't see, for example
"Print 2 sided". You see just question marks and failed efforts to show
Chinese.

Are you using systemd-networkd to manage your anonymous bridge ip address? Or
are you setting the ip address manually? You mention lxc, do you have a test
case involving lxc that reproduces the bug?

[Bug 1828912] Re: Failed to build reuseport_bpf test in net from ubuntu_kernel_selftests on PowerPC with X-fips

2019-05-15 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
Hello Marcelo,

It looks like this was induced by running the test from the Bionic
source tree, instead of the Xenial tree.

I have corrected this on the infrastructure. And restart the kernel-
selftest against the same P8 box, all tests have passed.

This bug will only valid if we're gonna to port these tests back to Xenial.
If not, I will close all of them
Thanks!

we'll get to it any time soon. If someone can help with this task,

2019-05-15 Thread Chad Smith
** Description changed:

+ == Begin SRU Template ==
+ [Impact]
+ Ubuntu-advantage-tools package version 19 introduced a new command line
client that is backwards incompatible with previous ubuntu-advantage-tools
releases.
+
+ Changes in cloud-init 19.1 support only the new ubuntu-advantage-tools
+ CLI.
+
+ To avoid breaking the cc_ubuntu_advantage cloud-config module, we need
+ to revert changes in cloud-init tip to avoid tracebacks for customers in
+ Xenial, Bionic and Cosmic using ubuntu-advantage: declarating in their
+ cloud-config.
+
+
+ Once ubuntu-advantage-tools >= 19 is SRU'd to Xenial, Bionic and Cosmic. This
debian patch can be dropped.
+
+ [Test Case]
+ # Use old ubuntu-advantage cloud-config syntax to enable livepatch on a kvm
instance to enable livepatch
+
+ cat > ua.yaml <']
+ EOF
+ for series in xenial bionic cosmic do;
+
+multipass launch daily:$series -n sru-$series --cloud-init ua.yaml
+
+ done
+
+ == End SRU Template ==
+
+
+ === Original description ===
+
  Xenial Bionic and Cosmic are currently running earlier versions of
  ubuntu-advantage-tools (10 for xenial and 17 for bionic/cosmic).

  ubuntu-advantage-tools 19 and later is a completely rewritten CLI that
  is backwards incompatible.

  Until ubuntu-advantage-tools >= 19.1 is released into Xenial, Bionic and
  Cosmic. Carry a debian patch file to revert upstream cloud-init config
  module changes for cc_ubuntu_advantage.py.

[Bug 1829269] [NEW] kubuntu flatpak

2019-05-15 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Apparently, based on my experience, any flatpak that uses
org.kde.Platform takes between 1 and 4 minute to launch. For example,
this is the case with Telegram Desktop and Kdenlive. However this same
behavior is not seen with GNOME-based flatpaks such as GIMP. Also, I
have only encountered this behavior on Kubuntu 19.04. Ubuntu, Xubuntu,
Ubuntu MATE do not exhibit this behavior so I assume there is something
specific to Kubuntu 19.04 at fault.

Flatpak is installed as described on the Flathub quick start guide. If I
launch from the terminal with something like `flatpak run -v
org.telegram.desktop' it gets to "running bwrap" and just sits for 1-3
minutes. It does eventually launch and then runs as normal.

[Bug 1822973] Re: Clicking link in slack snap under KDE causes infinite loop of retrying xdg-open

2019-05-15 Thread Larry Garfield
I can confirm the fix from Adan Koch. I went into the Fonts panel,
changed the anti-aliasing settings, Apply, change them back, Apply. Now
Slack links are opening almost immediately like in every other
application. I did not have to restart Slack.

Thanks Adan!

[Bug 1825049] Re: dnsimple adapter produces invalid URL in create_record

2019-05-15 Thread Steve Langasek
Hello Leon, or anyone else affected,

Accepted lexicon into cosmic-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lexicon/2.7.0-1ubuntu0.1 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-cosmic to verification-done-cosmic. If it does not
fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the
tag to verification-failed-cosmic. In either case, without details of
your testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification .  Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[Bug 1829264] [NEW] incorrect separator for multiple ARP IP targets

2019-05-15 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
Public bug reported:

https://github.com/CanonicalLtd/netplan/blob/ea47bd4e1c5319b1a624ea61c843ee96e7c128da/src/networkd.c#L208

The separator used to add multiple ARP IP targets for the networkd
renderer is ",".

Unfortunately, networkd doesn't allow that, but rather expects
whitespace:

(in config_parse_arp_ip_target_address():)
[...]
for (;;) {
[...]
r = extract_first_word(, , NULL, 0);

extract_first_word's third parameter is const char *separators; where
NULL is handled like so (src/basic/extract-word.c:37):

if (!separators)
separators = WHITESPACE;

Finally:

src/basic/string-util.h:#define WHITESPACE" \t\n\r"

So; it doesn't handle commas for the list, just whitespace; so let's
give it whitespace please :)

[Bug 1767720] Re: Ubiquity crashed during install of 18.04 with error 'BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)'

2019-05-15 Thread Tien Do
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1751252 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1751252

The scaling factor is what caused the crash on my machine. By default it
is 200 % and this makes Ubiquity crash. Changing to 100 % (even just
before validating last input panel) prevents it from crashing.

Obviously this a bug.

[Bug 1801071] Re: XPresentPixmap() BadWindow, recompiling fixes it

2019-05-15 Thread Pedro Fleck
I know it is not, but I found this issue trying to fix the tearing since
modesetting doesn't have a VSync option like Intel did and XFWM 4.12
VSync option didn't fix it. But I just tried the Eoan package and now
XPresent works for XFWM 4.13 and my tearing problem is solved! Any
chance that it will be backported to 19.04/18.04?
