[Bug 1830807] Re: Update to bug-fix release Qt 5.9.8 to fix security issues in qtwebengine in Bionic
I have accepted the upload to bionic-proposed. I saw a lot of optional symbols being dropped/modified - as they were optional I suppose it should be fine, but let's keep an eye out for issues in case we missed something non-optional changing and breaking the ABI. Also, since I have accepted it to bionic-proposed, in case we want it to land in bionic-security it would have to be rebuilt in a security- enabled PPA. If not, we'll simply release it to bionic-updates only. But it might be a good idea to get in touch with the security team here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1830807 Title: Update to bug-fix release Qt 5.9.8 to fix security issues in qtwebengine in Bionic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qtwebengine-opensource-src/+bug/1830807/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1830807] Re: Update to bug-fix release Qt 5.9.8 to fix security issues in qtwebengine in Bionic
Hello Amr, or anyone else affected, Accepted qtwebengine-opensource-src into bionic-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source /qtwebengine-opensource-src/5.9.8+dfsg-0ubuntu1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository. Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from verification-needed-bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed-bionic. In either case, without details of your testing we will not be able to proceed. Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance for helping! N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s) fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in -proposed for a minimum of 7 days. ** Changed in: qtwebengine-opensource-src (Ubuntu Bionic) Status: New => Fix Committed ** Tags added: verification-needed verification-needed-bionic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1830807 Title: Update to bug-fix release Qt 5.9.8 to fix security issues in qtwebengine in Bionic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qtwebengine-opensource-src/+bug/1830807/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1837399] [NEW] file selection does not work properly in 'search-results' mode
Public bug reported: When nautilus is in 'search-results' mode, the first found file is displayed as selected (the file symbol and text have an orange background color) but apparently in fact it is not. (Copying the file does not work, or a file that was selected previously is copied instead.) How to reproduce: * open two tabs at different paths * use CTRL+F to enter 'find' mode * type some letters until a file is found * use CTRL+C to copy the first found file * switch to the second tab * use CTRL+V to paste the file What I expected to happen: * the file should be copied to the second tab What happened instead: * the file was not copied or a different file is copied instead Also when using CTRL+left click to select addition files, these are also displayed as selected, but nothing is copied. When using SHIFT instead, the behaviour is a little bit different, as you have to click two times for the files to be selected, but then all files are copied correctly. Workaround: * unselect the first found file after searching by clicking into the white * select the file(s) again * copy works as expected Nautilus version: 3.26.4 Ubuntu version: 18.04.2 LTS ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1837399 Title: file selection does not work properly in 'search-results' mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1837399/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1820832] Re: [xorg] multiple monitors: limits the framerate of faster 120/144hz monitors to 60hz
I can also confirm that this bug is still present. I'm on Ubuntu 19.04 with the latest drivers & updates installed. Also, I want to add something here: It's not that it specifically limits the framerate to 60 Hz. Rather, it limits it to the monitor with the lowest refresh rate. Try setting one monitor's refresh rate to 30 Hz, and you should instantly notice how laggy the whole desktop environment becomes. I understand that this issue might be looked at as "not that important", but I believe a lot of people that would love to switch from Windows to something like Ubuntu really wouldn't appreciate the fact that their 144 Hz monitor doesn't work as intended. If you own one yourself, you probably would never want to set it to 60 Hz out of free will. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1820832 Title: [xorg] multiple monitors: limits the framerate of faster 120/144hz monitors to 60hz To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-418/+bug/1820832/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1837397] [NEW] Make possible to load Mellanox OFED modules
Public bug reported: [Impact] Infiniband and Mellanox modules are currently built-in which makes impossible for users to build and load OFED drivers. [Test Case] Users should be able to build and load OFED drivers without conflicting with the built-in drivers. [Regression Potential] The major regression potential is related to the linux-modules or linux- modules-extra packages. The built-in modules should be build as loadable modules and placed at the linux-modules package, having then in the linux-modules-extra package will cause issues for current users. ** Affects: linux-azure (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Marcelo Cerri (mhcerri) Status: In Progress ** Affects: linux-azure (Ubuntu Xenial) Importance: Undecided Status: In Progress ** Affects: linux-azure (Ubuntu Cosmic) Importance: Undecided Status: In Progress ** Affects: linux-azure (Ubuntu Disco) Importance: Undecided Status: In Progress ** Also affects: linux-azure (Ubuntu Xenial) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-azure (Ubuntu Disco) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-azure (Ubuntu Cosmic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux-azure (Ubuntu Xenial) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: linux-azure (Ubuntu Cosmic) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: linux-azure (Ubuntu Disco) Status: New => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1837397 Title: Make possible to load Mellanox OFED modules To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-azure/+bug/1837397/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1837394] [NEW] Only N-1 icons appear in dock when reversing "Workspaces" defaults
Public bug reported: When the defaults are left in the "Workspaces" preferences, everything functions as expected. But when the options are reversed from the defaults, the result is that the icon for the most recently opened app on a workspace is missing from the dock. Steps to reproduce: Select "Dock Preferences" -> "Workspaces" For "Pinned application dock icons" select "Display on all workspaces" For "Unpinned application dock icons" select "Display unpinned apps only from current workspace" Apply the settings Now open any app (like calculator). The app opens on the current workspace, but its icon does not show in the dock. Now open another app (like font viewer). It too opens on the current workspace but without its icon appearing in the dock. However, the icon for the first app (calculator) now shows in the dock. Repeating for a third app has the same results (its icon is missing from the dock), but now both the first and second apps appear in the dock (calculator and font viewer). This behavior continues with each new app opened. The most recently opened app on the workspace is not displayed in the dock. Only n-1 app icons on the current workspace are displayed. Switching to another workspace and back will momentarily bring all app icons into the dock for that workspace, but then the unexpected behavior continues when further apps are opened. Setting the "Workspaces" preferences back to default restores expected (but not desired) behavior. This behavior was observed on an Ubuntu Mate 18.04.2 LTS system with Mate Dock Applet 0.87 (GTK3) ** Affects: mate-dock-applet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1837394 Title: Only N-1 icons appear in dock when reversing "Workspaces" defaults To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mate-dock-applet/+bug/1837394/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Does anyone still see a problem related to the one that was reported when using a currently supported version of Ubuntu? Please let us know if you do otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time. Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better. [Bug 1672459] Re: incorrectly asks for password on .pdf file
Thanks for the reply. Obviously evince 3.4.0 is never going to be updated now and any fixes would be applied to later releases of evince. I cannot reproduce the problem using either evince 3.28 in Xubuntu 18.04, or evince 3.32 in Ubuntu 19.10 (dev). I've also viewed the same file downloaded from other sources. There have been several reports of this problem in the past but they seem to have been fixed before this bug report was raised. The problem that you are experiencing may not be an evince bug but a bug in one of the dependencies. I'm closing this report for now by marking it "Fix Released" as the issue seems to have been fixed in later releases of evince. If when you upgrade to a supported Ubuntu release and you find that you still experience the bug as the originator of the report you can re-open it by changing the status back to "New". Preferably you should use the command 'ubuntu-bug evince' in a terminal so that the appropriate logs are attached to a new report. ** Tags added: precise ** Changed in: evince (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1672459 Title: incorrectly asks for password on .pdf file To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1672459/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
