[Bug 1724919] Re: Bluetooth headphones only use A2DP when connected manually
I am also affected, same solution as for other, I simply need to reconnect from the UI. The same headset works fine on Android, Windows, Mac OS, iOS and even my cheap DAB-Receiver can stream to it via A2DP right away. For me the issue exists since 18.4 and is still present in 18.10. I am using the Sony WH-1000XM2. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1724919 Title: Bluetooth headphones only use A2DP when connected manually To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1724919/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1651561] Re: openarena crashes upon starting or joining a game
For what it's worth, the problem is that the game .so files are compiled without `-fvisibility=hidden` causing all symbols in the shared objects to be global which then causes some sort of symbol conflict on load and wrong functions being called. The fix would be adding it to compiler flags. I don't know where in the packaging and building process it has been lost or if the default behavior of the compiler/linker has changed. It may very well be that it's an Ubuntu downstream bug and it does not affect Debian. This issue *does not* affect ioquake3/baseq3 on Ubuntu 18.04 and is specific to OpenArena. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1651561 Title: openarena crashes upon starting or joining a game To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ioquake3/+bug/1651561/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1844962] [NEW] apparent memory usage regression - not getting freed?
Public bug reported: In eoan on a 5.3 kernel, have noticed a few incidents of the system becoming sluggish/unresponsive, which appears to be caused by low available memory. top is reporting 13 of 16G are "used", but adding up the memory reported by top sorted by memory usage appears like it should be closer to 3-4G "used". Attaching two top screenshots, one shows 3.3G used and system behaving well, the other shows 14G used and system lagging. In both cases, approximately the same programs are being run taking up approximately the same amount of resident memory, so not sure where all the memory usage is coming from. [Bug 1843490] Re: lxc.cgroup.devices.allow prevents unprivileged container from starting
So is there a workaround? In my case, I'm trying to access an OpenCL gpu from a userland container. I was assuming that the below might be enough. lxc.mount.entry = /dev/dri/card1 dev/dri/card1 none bind, optional, create=file lxc.mount.entry = /dev/dri/renderD128 dev/dri/renderD128 none bind, optional, create=file lxc.cgroup.devices.allow = c 226:* rwm The mounts work (although owned by nobody:nobody instead of root:video) and the devices cgroup stanza in the config file generates the container boot error, as described above. The mounts are not enough to get opencl access in the container: running "clinfo" (the opencl diagnostic) in the container doesn't find the devices (I presume because of ... well, something to do with /dev/dri but don't really know) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1843490 Title: lxc.cgroup.devices.allow prevents unprivileged container from starting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/1843490/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 913444]
Created attachment 65280 Patchset for wine 4.15 Hello, The attached file is a patchset and this is a request for comments. The patchset aims at retaining userdirs symlink/real directories across updates. It is different from the other proposed patch in that it only creates one symlink when looking for a specific folder. On prefix creation, the default is still to create symlinks. If the user unticks the links in winecfg, he gets real directories in the wineprefix. With the patchset, they are retained across updates. I made a small modification to the 'educated guess' that is used to chose the target of the symlinks: The old behavior did target the PICTURE, VIDEO and MUSIC symlinks to subdirs of PERSONAL (=My Documents) if they did exists, wherever the PERSONAL folder target to ($HOME/My Documents, XDG documents dir, OSX documents path, '$HOME' or %USERPROFILE%). The new behavior is that it does that only when PERSONAL really comes from '$HOME/My Documents', no more when PERSONAL comes from XDG or OS X. XDG and OS X will use the separate PICTURE, VIDEO and MUSIC settings that they define and fallback to PERSONAL if necessary. I think that people that have setup XDG or use OSX paths want the feature to be consistent for all the folder. If that change is undesirable, I may provide another patchset with original behavior. Regards. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/913444 Title: Every wine update re-enables desktop integration links To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/wine/+bug/913444/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. [Bug 1844853] Re: IBus no longer works in Qt applications after upgrade
The problem is not bionic specific (ibus 1.5.17). Myself has confirmed it both on 19.04 (with ibus 1.5.19) and 19.10 (with ibus 1.5.21). [Bug 1844944] [NEW] Ubuntu 19.10 switching users broken with Nouveau driver
Public bug reported: I've performed an upgrade from Ubuntu 19.04 to 19.10 5 days ago by running the command "sudo do-release-upgrade". The upgrade went well, without errors. I've installed all updates to date (22 sept 2019). One thing seems broken since the upgrade to 19.10: it is not possible to switch users when using the Nouveau driver. Prerequisites: - Use Ubuntu 19.10 - You need at least 2 users (e.g. user1 and user2) - The Nouveau drivers must be used Step to reproduce: - Start your computer - At the graphical login prompt, log in with user1: user1 is able to log in, its desktop is shown - While logged into the desktop of user1, choose "Switch user" - When back at the user selection screen, choose the profile of user2 - Provide the password for user2 and attempt log in RESULT: the desktop of user2 is never shown. Instead, the lock screen is shown. After pressing [Enter] to hide the lock screen, the login prompt for user1 is displayed. On that screen, it is possible to press "Log in as another user" and provide the password for user2 again. A login attempt results again in the lock screen being displayed. it is never possible to login in as user2. NOTE 1: the same happens when user2 was the first to log in after a reboot of the system. User2 is able to log in, and user1 is then stuck in a login loop. NOTE 2: this bug doesn't happen when the proprietary NVidia driver is used (the version which can be installed via the Software & updates screen, version 340.107). ** Affects: gdm3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1844944 Title: Ubuntu 19.10 switching users broken with Nouveau driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1844944/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1844942] [NEW] No HDD parking on shutdown
Public bug reported: This text is copied from the Github report I made instances ago. My external HDD is not parker/spundown as the system shutsdown. # Expected Behavior I select "Shutdown" and the system parks the external hdd normally. # Current Behavior I select "Shutdown" and it abruptly shuts the system down seconds thereafter, not even parking/spinning the hdd down. This ruins the disc. # Possible Solution Perhaps change the shutdown scripts to park all the discs first? umount /media//* umount /dev/sd* hdparm -y /dev/sd* # Steps to Reproduce (for bugs) 1. Press super 2. Shutdown 3. wait 4. hear the fast SQUEAK from the HDD. # Context This ruins the hdd. Also, it is my main hdd (for work data) and I typically shut the system down right after I finish using it. # System Information * Distribution & Version: Lubuntu 18.04 (as it came) ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1844942 Title: No HDD parking on shutdown To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1844942/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1844384] Re: Display bug with kernel 5.2/5.3 on Dell XPS 13
I did some additional tests: - First by testing with the future kernel under development (5.4 RC0) and I found the same problem (no improvement) - I searched the web and found similar problems with other people like for example here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1723167 https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2339302 Following their recommendation, I therefore disabled the Intel PSR function in the grub configuration ("i915.enable_psr=0" in /etc/default/grub) so that the kernel does not activate it at boot time and indeed with this feature disabled, I no longer have the display corruption problem. The problem is that this feature is used to last longer on battery, so it's something useful on a laptop (especially since it worked well with older kernels <5.2). Could you please fix the display corruption problem without disabling this power saving feature for cpu intel. In the meantime, I leave this feature disabled because display corruption is too annoying. [Bug 1844934] [NEW] screen jitter after long idle
Public bug reported: It's 1st time happens on my xps13 9380 with bionic + oem kernel 4.15.0-1056-oem. I have updated to 1056 from 1050 for several days, this issue not happens for these days and not experienced it on 1050 as well. So, looks it's just randomly happens or I can not find a static way to reproduce it. I also not sure if unattended upgrade bring in some regression. [Bug 1844654] Re: Remove from archive
Your screenshots show that the default answer to the license Eula question is "yes", which is NOT acceptable for a Eula presented via DebConf. When using the non interactive frontend, this results in software assuming the license has been accepted when there has been no such intent on the part of the user. Canonical did not accept this license, but the download was being triggered from autopkgtest instances as if we had. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1844654 Title: Remove from archive To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtualbox-ext-pack/+bug/1844654/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1812754]
I just saw this. Sorry for the delay. I use the version distributed with my Linux, and follow the versions there. I'm never going to be at the bleeding edge, and I don't want to mess with the support I get. May I suggest that it's easier for you to do a quick load of the two samples I suggested than it is for me to do an unsupported upgrade and keep following thereafter. This is especially true if you run it under Ubuntu or anything where you can use a command line like I did. This is a VERY quick way to reproduce the problem or confirm it has been fixed. [Bug 1844926] [NEW] Kernel panic when booting Razer Blade 15" 2018
Public bug reported: A few days ago I decided to test the upcoming 19.10 release. After rebooting, I faced a very early kernel panic. The whole disk is encrypted and I couldn't even reach the decryption phase where it asks for the password. The kernel package is `linux-image-generic/eoan,now 5.3.0.10.11` I am currently running 5.0.0-29-generic without problems. I don't have any versions installed in-between those two. Following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelBoot I collected photos of the kernel booting. There is a little bit scrolled out, but it scrolls way too fast for me to capture even on video. Please let me know if I can provide any further information.
