[Bug 1845232] [NEW] Launcher mouse input only working on 1 of 2 monitors installed

2019-09-24 Thread Rick
Public bug reported:

unity-lens-applications "Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS"

I have two monitors stacked above/below. Launcher set for bottom and
available to be seen on both monitors. If the SUPER key is hit while the
mouse is in the upper monitor window the mouse is able to click on any
icon loaded via search. If the SUPER key is hit while the mouse is in
the lower no mouse click input works and I must resort to using the
arrow keys to highlight any returned search icons.

[Bug 1845221] [NEW] Fails to handle a combination of option and else

2019-09-24 Thread Bob Harold
Public bug reported:

AssertionError on this portion of a dhcpd.conf file:

class "AppleNBI-ppc" {
match if substring (option vendor-class-identifier, 0, 13) = "AAPLBSDPC/ppc";
if (option dhcp-message-type = 1) {
option vendor-encapsulated-options 08:04:81:00:00:09;
}
else {
option vendor-encapsulated-options 00:01:02:03:04:05:06:07;
}
}

If either the "option" line or the "else" section is removed, it works,
but it does not handle the combination of those lines. This is part of
a valid, working DHCP configuration file.

[Bug 1826691] Re: fwupd hangs after 19.04 upgrade from 18.10

2019-09-24 Thread Mario Limonciello
I'm marking eoan as fixed, as it has 1.2.10 which contains the
workaround to avoid using synaptics mst on amdgpu devices.

The kernel tasks is still open as this is still a real kernel problem.

your platform is supported on fwupd it looks like from that picture. if
you build a cab, you can install it using # fwupdmgr install file.cab

[Bug 1779156] Re: lxc 'delete' fails to destroy ZFS filesystem 'dataset is busy'

2019-09-24 Thread Colin Ian King
Been digging into this a bit further with lxc 3.17 on Eoan.

lxc launch ubuntu:bionic zfs-bug-test
Creating zfs-bug-test
Starting zfs-bug-test
lxc delete zfs-bug-test --force
Error: Failed to destroy ZFS filesystem: Failed to run: zfs destroy -r
default/containers/z1: cannot destroy 'default/containers/z1': dataset is busy

However, re-running the delete works fine:
lxd.lxc delete z1 --force

Looking at system calls, it appears that the first failing delete
--force command attempts to destroy the zfs file system multiple times
and then gives up. In doing so, it umounts the zfs file system. Hence
the second time the delete is issued it works fine because zfs is now
umounted. So it appears that the ordering in the delete is not as it
expected.

It seems to do:
zfs destroy x 10 (or so and then gives up because of errno 16 -EBUSY)
zfs umount

It should be doing:
zfs umount
zfs destroy

This matches the observed reference counting. The ref count is only
dropped once the umount is complete. Attempts to destroy it before that
will cause an -EBUSY.

[Bug 1839065] Re: power8 machines need FW update or qemu/libvirt code - cap-cfpc=broken

2019-09-24 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
Ok, I can confirm that with:
Version of System Firmware is FW860.70 (SV860_205) (t) FW860.70 (SV860_205) (p)
FW860.70 (SV860_205) (b)

Guests now run fine not crashing into the issue they had before.

This FW still has:
ubuntu@wichita:~$ sudo qemu-system-ppc64 -enable-kvm -nographic -machine
pseries-3.1,cap-cfpc=fixed
qemu-system-ppc64: Requested safe cache capability level not supported by kvm,
try cap-cfpc=workaround

The same happens to many other P9 only features, but that is fine.
At least broken and workaround work now (and the default without adding an
argument).

Marking as resolved.

2019-09-24 Thread Akarshanbiswas
@grmat libplacebo is a renderer not a hardware decoder and is unfit to
be used in a browser. First thing we need dmabuf support so that we can
import decoded frames without copying them back to the system RAM and
then display it on the screen. If I understand it correctly this is the
toughest part.

[Bug 1843444] Re: Guests paused/crash during live-migration

2019-09-24 Thread faleiros
anyone have any clues? I can't continue to upgrade my cluster this way
(if my guests crash during live-migration).

It occurs from 1:2.11+dfsg-1ubuntu7.15 to 1:2.11+dfsg-1ubuntu7.18.

Is there any secure way to upgrade my cluster? (besides stop/start my
guests).

[Bug 1748429] Re: [snap] Libreoffice uses the adwaita gtk theme

2019-09-24 Thread Marcus Tomlinson
Is this still an issue? Please run `snap connections` and ensure that
the following appears in the output:

content[gtk-3-themes] libreoffice:gtk-3-themes gtk-common-themes:gtk-3-themes -
content[icon-themes]  libreoffice:icon-themes  gtk-common-themes:icon-themes  -
content[sound-themes] libreoffice:sound-themes gtk-common-themes:sound-themes -

If not, you'll need to run `snap install gtk-common-themes` to install
the required themes. Then try LibreOffice again to see if there is any
improvement.

[Bug 1845214] [NEW] Keyboard NumLock indicator turns off on connecting another keyboard

2019-09-24 Thread Dmitry Lapshin via ubuntu-bugs
Public bug reported:

My USB HID keyboard has NumLock LED. It usually works fine. However,
when I plug in YubiKey (hardware security token, it is also identified
as a USB HID keyboard) NumLock LED turns OFF, but the NumLock feature is
still ON.

If I press NumLock, NumLock becomes disabled (it is displayed by DE and
checked by typing). If I press NumLock again, NumLock turns back ON with
LED.

I originally thought that issue could be related to the fact that
YubiKey does not have a NumLock led, so it reports LED as nonexisting
and stuff happens. However, today I tried attaching another USB
keyboard: LED on first one still goes off; but LED on second goes ON
immediately after plugging in. Pressing NumLock once disables NumLock
and LED on first keyboard, as with YubiKey; pressing again enabled
NumLock and both LEDs.

Seems like my user session (on vt2) is running Xorg while login screen
(on vt1, the one that allows to choose a user and that you see before
first login) is running Wayland; both are faulty. Because of this, I
believe the issue is in the kernel.

However, I am not sure, so you can ask for way more reports to be added,
I will add those. Reproducing should be pretty easy with any cheap USB
keyboards, nothing special is used by me.

Operating system: Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic Beaver.
Linux kernel: 18.04 HWE, 5.0.0-25. However, I think I saw this blinking before
upgrading to HWE.

Marking as rls-ee-notfixing. This doesn't mean that this bug won't get
fixed, but that it won't block release if it is not fixed in time.

[Bug 1833229] Re: `--extra-index-url` not working for PIP

2019-09-24 Thread James Page
I'm slightly baffled by this as the original bug report and associated
fix resolved an issue where:

  requests.exceptions.HTTPError

was not the same as requests.HTTPError in the distro packaging - but the
exception raised in this bug report infers that something is still wonky
in the debundling of the vendored requests...

[Bug 1710278] Re: [2.3a1] named stuck on reload, DNS broken

2019-09-24 Thread Camille Rodriguez
Hi, I see that the backport fix is released and/or committed to MAAS
2.2, 2.6 and 2.7. Can we get it backported to 2.4 as well? It is
currently affecting a customer in production. Thank you!

[Bug 1842774] Comment bridged from LTC Bugzilla

2019-09-24 Thread bugproxy
--- Comment From cborn...@de.ibm.com 2019-09-24 09:11 EDT---
Yes this only updates the description. The name gen15a can not be changed
without hurting migration compatibility.
We are looking into adding an alias for cpu names, but this would be a future
change.
With that medium priority is fine.
