[Bug 1826271] Re: virt-manager does not save preferences

2019-11-29 Thread Tim Crisall
Thought I was hitting this same issue - turns out it wasn't quite the
same as I did NOT have dconf-editor available.

Ended up figuring this out as follows:

virt-manager --debug

<...go into preferences screen...>

(virt-manager:10411): dconf-WARNING **: 03:20:30.256: failed to commit changes
to dconf: Failed to execute child process “dbus-launch” (No such file or
directory)
[Fri, 29 Nov 2019 03:20:30 virt-manager 10411] DEBUG (preferences:97) Showing
preferences

apt install dbus-x11

all good now.

[Bug 1839144] Re: controller test from ubuntu_ltp will timeout B-KVM

2019-11-29 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
This issue can now be spotted on B-gke-4.15 (4.15.0-1049.52)

For the test log, it looks like this happened before (the one marked with no
ltp test history):
* 4.15.0-1049.52-gke - no ltp test history
* 4.15.0-1046.49-gke - no ltp test history
* 4.15.0-1045.48-gke - no ltp test history
* 4.15.0-1042.44-gke - no ltp test history
* 4.15.0-1041.43-gke - LTP well tested
* 4.15.0-1040.42-gke - no ltp test history
* 4.15.0-1038.40-gke - LTP well tested
* 4.15.0-1037.39-gke - LTP well tested
* 4.15.0-1035.37-gke - LTP well tested

So this is not a regression for GKE this time.

[Bug 1854480] [NEW] zfs_arc_max not working anymore in zfs 0.8.1

2019-11-29 Thread BertN45
Public bug reported:

In the past I could limit the size of L1ARC by specifying "options zfs
zfs_arc_max=3221225472" in /etc/modprobe.d/zfs.conf. I tried even to
fill /sys/module/zfs/parameters/zfs_arc_max directly after login, but
none of those methods limits the size of L1ARC. It worked nicely in zfs
0.7.x.

Nowadays I use a nvme drive with 3400 MB/s read throughput and I see not
much difference between e.g booting the system from nvme and rebooting
the system from L1ARC. Having a 96-99% hit rate for the L1ARC, I like to
free up some memory, thus avoiding some delay of freeing memory from
L1ARC while loading a VM.

[Bug 1853050] Re: Wifi fails to connect (RTL8822BE, linux 5.3.0 w/ rtwpci)

2019-11-29 Thread Bin Li
@khfeng,

https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.4-rc8/

In the mainline kernel, there are no -extra package.

I also tried to build the packages from v5.4-rc8 source code by myself
at this week, but I found it couldn't work. For the -extra package, do I
need add some parameter for fakeroot?

Thanks!

[Bug 1854472] [NEW] ubuntu-drivers-common fails when no PATH environment variable is passed

2019-11-29 Thread Alberto Milone
Public bug reported:

ubuntu-drivers-common fails when no PATH environment variable is passed:

https://errors.ubuntu.com/problem/52d04f39f8cbdb77d65ec57f19a5801284c1e2b0

While the reasons why the PATH variable is empty are unknown, the
ubuntu-drivers tools should not fail, and we can assume that a minimal PATH
(such as /sbin:/usr/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin) would apply to the system.

[Bug 1854395] Re: apachectl configtest segmentation fault

2019-11-29 Thread Roberto Nunnari
Hi Tom.

The ssl apache module is enabled
There's nothing about nss in mods-enabled/ (but kernel message mentions
libnss_files-2.23.so

When the ssl apache module is disabled, apachectl configtest works.
When the ssl apache module is enabled, apachectl configtest fails with
segmentation fault.

About apport-collect.. I installed it and tried to run "apport-collect
1854395", it opens links but it will not let me login.

Thank you and best regards
Roberto

[Bug 1854404] Re: [MIR] libslirp (as it was part of QEMU)

2019-11-29 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
[Summary]
- MIR Team ack
- Info: this will be pulled into main on the merge of qemu 4.2
@Server Team - none of the minor issues is critical (e.g. d/copyright, fine to
let Debian sort that out, no delta needed)
@Security - I'm not requesting a review (done in the past as part of qemu),
just an ack that from now on have this on your usual security-issue-monitoring

[Duplication]
- The code was in qemu but now is split, no duplication.

[Embedded sources and static linking]
- No embedded sources

[Security]

- doeis not run a daemon as root
- does not use webkit1,2
- does not use lib*v8 directly
- does not open a port
- does not process arbitrary web content
- does not use centralized online accounts
- does not integrate arbitrary javascript into the desktop
- does not deal with system authentication (eg, pam), etc)

- does parse data formats (network traffic from guest)
- There were CVE issues in the past, but after all the individual maintenance
of the lib was just one of the reasons to split it so that should be fine
- CVEs were reported above, and it will be continuing to be security critical
for guest breakout scenarios

@Security - I'm not requesting a review as you essentially have done that way
back when qemu was added.
Just an ack from you that you'll from now on have this on your usual
security-issue-monitoring would be nice to go on with this.

[Common blockers]
- does not FTBFS currently?
- As mentioned in the bug description it does not have a test suite, but that
is just upstream
  - the slirp4netns tests makes this better than it was as part of qemu
- server team will subscribe
- not user visible (translations)
- no python concerns as no python is in the package

[Packaging red flags]
- no Ubuntu delta
- symbols tracking is in place
- d/watch in place
- updates should be "as qemu" which was fine so far
- current release is packaged
- Lintian warnings exist but are ok
- d/rules is as clean as possible
- no Built-Using

[Upstream red flags]
- no Errors/warnings during the build
- no Incautious use of malloc/sprintf (as it was in qemu)
- no use of sudo, gksu, pkexec, or LD_LIBRARY_PATH
- no user management
- no use of setuid
- no important bugs (crashers, etc) in Debian or Ubuntu
- no Dependency on webkit, qtwebkit, seed or libgoa-*

[Bug 1851677] Re: s_iflags overlap prevents unprivileged overlayfs mounts

2019-11-29 Thread Khaled El Mously
I ran the test.sh script on the 5.3.0-23.25 kernel (the kernel in
-updates) and the 5.3.0-24.26 kernel (the one in -proposed). The -23
kernel gave me a "/tmp/mnt: permission denied" error whereas the -24
kernel did not give this error.

Does this mean this bug is verified?
