[Bug 1835660] Re: initramfs unpacking failed
This happened for me yesterday, when booting the main Ubuntu 20.04 beta x86_64 iso on real hardware (not a virtual machine). It has a graphical splash screen but in the upper left corner I get this "console" message. Then eventually in a few seconds, after it has fully booted, that splash screen is replaced and the system has booted up fine. But it's a worry- producing message that should really not be there. If the kernel is actually able to handle the stock ISO's initramfs, then please change the kernel boot process to not produce an error message when there is no error. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1835660 Title: initramfs unpacking failed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/initramfs-tools/+bug/1835660/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1873386] Re: nmcli error report on reboot after latest 20.04 updates
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1873386 Title: nmcli error report on reboot after latest 20.04 updates To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1873386/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

--- Comment From mranw...@us.ibm.com 2020-04-17 01:59 EDT--- I think this bug has gone through a few different actual problems to where we are now. To re-iterate, with 20.04.1+git19.3bd1382b I can successfully install on a NVMe disk when I choose 'Use entire disk' and select that disk. If I try to use 'Custom storage layout' to configure an install to the NVMe disk then the install fails. This is not specific to nvme, though, I see that with a standard disk, too. I did try that scenario in an x86 vm and it worked ok, so it looks power specific that 'Custom storage layout' doesn't work, at least from what I've seen. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1861655 Title: [Ubu 20.04][kernel-5.4.0-12-generic][WSP-DD2.3] Unable to install Ubu 20.4 on NVMe disk To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-power-systems/+bug/1861655/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1864288] Re: No boot after an update.
I suspect a Support site would be more appropriate, eg. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu. You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709 However they may not be able to help you, as your description reads as more hardware related (did you run memtest, do a cap-check of your motherboard or other steps etc), and thus other hardware support sites maybe more on-topic. If it doesn't get as far as loading grub (the boot loader) as indicated in your description, then the kernel hasn't been loaded & kernel upgrades aren't an issue (as they aren't loaded being loaded by grub), ie. you have support issues). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1864288 Title: No boot after an update. Normally these problems start to appear about a day into use, so it's perhaps still early to declare success, but this is looking promising. Another finding: even if the icon of the applet shows that bluetooth is off, when I click it, the status is shown as On, and I have the option to "Turn Off Bluetooth". When I turn if off, the LED goes off as well. When I then turn in on again, the LED goes on, but the icon on the panel still shows that red/white "off" sign. The ibm- laptop (or whatever the kernel module is called for Thinkpads) module changed behaviour. The hardware has no ways to know that... > So maybe this is a bug in bluez (which owns that /etc/bluetooth/main.conf), > that it does not honor the setting (and provides bad info to the applet as > well)? But I don't see a component bluez in bugzilla to report it ... This is a BIOS bug. gnome-bluetooth doesn't hold *any* information as to the state of Bluetooth, and bluetoothd (somewhat) remembers the state of the device. The problem is that when it's hard-blocked, eg. disabled in hardware, bluetoothd has no Bluetooth devices to remember the set
