[Bug 1877733] Re: Lubuntu 20.10 calamares "failed to create a partition table"
This is a ~exact re-run of the QA-test that was used for led to the creation of this bug report. I booted same box, changed screens to match my setup (right display is portrait-left tilted) as done last test Then opened terminal and ran `sudo -E calamares -d` INSTEAD of clicking install icon on desktop FYI: Calamares will show being loaded twice; this was my error, as opened at terminal first time, it displayed on my portrait-left tilted display and was unusable (buttons were off screen), I was unable to move window to other display so exited This behavior has been noted before, maybe requires bug report, but I'm ignoring that currently... Mentioned here only to explain why calamares was run twice in log (opened both times with same command) With the run of `calamares -d` instead, the install was flawless (I haven't rebooted & tested yet, but I'm betting it is). This is the log - ~/.cache/calamares/session.log ** Attachment added: "~/.cache/calamares/session.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/1877733/+attachment/5368982/+files/session.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1877733 Title: Lubuntu 20.10 calamares "failed to create a partition table" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/1877733/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1876606] Re: colord erros in varlog which causes display to fail
I'm trying to reproduce it again but couldn't find exact same error behavior is quite same. I was facing this problem when, I was trying to connection my Ubuntu machine via xrdp which is installed on VirtualBox on Windows 10 host. I can see that XRDP login is successful, but rather than landing on Desktop screen I'm landing on a login screen, which says "Authentication is required to create a color managed device". And when I provide credential then it blinks and I see same screen again. This time I got different error traces than before in /var/syslog. Below are traces: Some errors related to XRDP: May 9 13:19:20 KUMAR-PC xrdp[1918]: (1918)(140104060426048)[ERROR] Cannot read private key file /etc/xrdp/key.pem: Permission denied May 9 13:19:27 KUMAR-PC xrdp-sesman[1869]: (1869)(139642876421440)[ERROR] g_tcp_bind(9, 6010) failed bind IPv6 (errno=98) and IPv4 (errno=22). [Bug 1877726] [NEW] [HDA-Intel - HD-Audio Generic, playback] USB sound with Rodecaster Pro not working
Public bug reported: Please see https://askubuntu.com/posts/1236257 for most background. tl;dr: - The Rodecaster Pro is a USB audio standard compliant device - lsusb sees it, but alsa cannot use it - trying the exact same setup with a Scarlett 2i2 USB device works (with some caveats, see the mentioned post) Somehow the Rodecaster is ignored by Alsa. I am more than happy to help debug. [Bug 1877727] [NEW] Nvidia dGPU active despite prime-select set to Intel card
Public bug reported: After fresh installation of Ubuntu 20.04 I changed used card to Intel GPU with command "sudo prime-select intel". After reboot Intel card is used to display, but dGPU is still active (more heat and power consumption, this laptop also has led that indicate dGPU activation). In Ubuntu 19.04 which I used till today, after change to iGPU, laptop use iGPU and dGPU is in inactive state. I have MSI PE70 7RD laptop with Intel 7700HQ processor and NVIDIA 1050 GPU. I found similar problem on net, but without solution. https://askubuntu.com/questions/1232461/ubuntu-20-04-dgpu-is-always-on Workaround that I found is use "powertop" and in Tunables card activate power saving for dGPU card "Runtime PM for PCI Device NVIDIA Corporation GP107M [GeForce GTX 1050 Mobile]", but I think it should work without such changes every reboot. apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: After upgrading Ubuntu Mate to 20.04 , my wifi crashed on Lenovo legion Y530. The strange thing is that it connects to the network, i have internet for some time (usually between 1 and 10 minutes) and then it disconnects. After that, the applet shows me something like device not ready and i can only restart the computer to connect. Then it crashes again... I also tried a fresh install with the same results. I used 19.04 and 19.10 on the same laptop as my primary operating system and wifi worked flawlessly. Since I do my work on this laptop i was forced to downgrade back to 19.10 for now. [Bug 1662440] Re: Unable to import FNMT certificates in chromium or chrome
In reply to comment #13. After Olivier reported a clean fresh install showed no such issues, tried the closest to that I could do on my existing install, which was moving out the way my current user Chromium .cache/chromium and .config/chromium directories. Started Chromium and it worked as expected regarding the certificates in this Bug report. With still using Spanish as the system , environment and browser language. So whatever the problem is, seems to only affect users with : - Non-clean Chromium installs - Running on Spanish (or otherwise non default system language) - And only for some certificates, such as some of the ones used in the public administration in Spain (works for the root CA but fails for intermediate CA) So anyone hitting this would probably good with moving away the user's $HOME/.cache/chromium/ and $HOME/.config/chromium/ directories, and starting Chromium again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1662440 Title: Unable to import FNMT certificates in chromium or chrome To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1662440/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1875200] Re: [amdgpu] Entire computer freezes shortly after bootup
Sorry for the delay - something very weird happened. On April 29, the system hanged in the "Black screen with Lenovo and Ubuntu on both monitors" phase. I then hard-reset the machine (as usual) and generated the log file as instructed by you. It is attached to this comment as prevboot-hang-on-black-ubuntu.txt However, I then noticed that I mistakenly did NOT boot into recovery mode, but into normal mode, and the system hadn't crashed! I checked with "glxgears -info" that indeed the hardware renderer was used (not llvmpipe) and wanted to find out how long the system would work this way. It turns out that it worked - with regular usage, mostly Chrome and Terminal but also some video playback - until I had to reboot it for unrelated reasons on May 5th, with multiple suspend/resume cycles. While using it I noticed some situations when a terminal window would display something that looked like a rectangular area failing to update; or maybe something like "double buffering gone wrong", i.e. it would display - in a rectangular area - content that had been displayed before. Refreshing the terminal would fix it. >From May 5th until today I had to use the system in Windows (where nothing noticeable happened); now I rebooted into Ubuntu again and promptly the system crashed again, this time while inputting the password in the login screen.
