[Bug 1779736] Re: umask ignored on NFSv4.2 mounts
seth-arnold, the ZFS default is actltype=off, which means that ACLs are disabled. (I don't think the NFSv4 ACL support in ZFS is wired up on Linux.) [Bug 1863434] Re: 20.04 grub menu not visible
Another person affected by this bug chiming in. My set-up is a Lenovo T440s with UEFI-only booting. Latest BIOS/firmware. Secure boot is disabled. Grub menu appears fine on Debian itself, but with Ubuntu I've had this issue since around 19.04, IIRC. @siepo2 Removing that font is the first time I've been able to see the grub menu without forcing `console` mode in `/etc/default/grub` OR enabling legacy boot/CMS boot options. I only had to remove the font from `/boot/grub/fonts`, the other location didn't seem to make a difference. Thank you! (And they are right, it's not pretty but it works). I don't think it's directly related to the font, though. It's the same exact font found in Debian's grub-common package, but I do not have this same bug on a Debian installs on the same hardware. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1863434 Title: 20.04 grub menu not visible To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1863434/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1881364] [NEW] broken kerning
Public bug reported: Hi, I am just trying to debug a problem with impress I have after upgrading from 18.04 to 20.04: On some, not on all slides, text becomes - unreadable due to negative kerning, i.e. characters are shifted so close together that they are overlapping - one slide even invisible. Strangely, the effect occurs - with libreoffice as a debian package - with libreoffice as an AppImage downloaded from libreoffice.org - *but not* with libreoffice as a snap (which doesn't solve the problem because of other problems of accessing local fonts) Unfortunately, I can't give the slides as an example, they're strictly confidential. But I'm trying to build an example. Just to bring people together who experience the same problem. [Bug 1881363] [NEW] Informal date format: wrong time shown
Public bug reported: System: Ubuntu MATE 18.04.4 Package version: 1.20.2-4ubuntu1 This issue is only present when the "informal" date format is set. This format is the last entry in the format dropdown i.e. the "today at 14:23:45" format - the two other date formats are not affected. You also have to switch the view to "list" mode, in order to see the "modified date" column. The issue affects all files that were last modified neither today nor yesterday. For these files, the correct date is shown. But instead of the time of the file itself, the current wall clock time is displayed! So whenever an update of the shown timestamp is triggered, the time is replaced by the current time (as time goes by). See the attached screenshot for an example. As one can see, many files have the very same time, though having different dates. Exceptions are, as said, files that were modified today ("heute") or yesterday ("gestern") - they have the expected time. I had a look at the code and it seems that the bug is located in "libcaja-private/caja-file.c" in the function "caja_file_fit_date_as_string". While for the two other date formats everything is fine, the retrieval of the "informal" format is a bit more complex. It involes a call to localtime which returns a pointer to struct tm. This pointer is cached for later use. However, the manpage for ctime warns: "The return value points to a statically allocated struct which might be overwritten by subsequent calls to any of the date and time functions." This seems to happen here, due to later date/time operations. I'm not sure whether this has already been fixed in later versions, as the Git history shows later refactoring. At least as a quick fix for this version, here localtime_r instead of localtime could be used. ** Affects: caja (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "Screenshot" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1881363/+attachment/5378592/+files/caja_time_bug.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1881363 Title: Informal date format: wrong time shown To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/caja/+bug/1881363/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1881355] [NEW] Game freezes on screen resolution change.
Public bug reported: I am using a fresh install of Ubuntu 20.04 and a fresh install of d2x- rebirth via apt-get (although I have the same error when using snap via the software center). d2x isn't running at 1600x900 by default like d1x is and is instead running at 640x480. When I try to change it the game freezes and half takes my desktop environment with it. The file "gamelog.txt" is empty, and there are no reported errors when I kill the process. While the game is frozen I can still press my meta key to zoom out of all windows, but switching to any other app just shows me the frozen game screen and I can't see what I'm doing in the application that now has focus. For example, I can zoom out, open a text editor, switch to it, then blindly type into the editor while seeing only the switch game resolution screen. In fact, almost everything I do leaves me with a black/frozen game screen, including switching to other terminals via Ctrl+Shift+SomeFKey. The only way I've found out of the game screen is to press Ctrl+Shift+F1 to go back to my lock screen, then, and only from there, will pressing Ctrl+Shift+F3 work to get me to a terminal. If I press Ctrl+Shift+F2 I go right back to my desktop and the game screen. Once at a terminal I can sign in and kill the process, then switch back to my lock screen and safely sign into my desktop. However, I then have to open my system settings because my screen is still at 640k480 even though Ubuntu thinks I'm still at my default of 1600x900. I have to switch to some other resolution, then right back in order to restore my desktop to normal. Also, (don't know if it's related) but the robot previews in the mission briefing screens aren't showing up. I noticed that while trying to get into a new game to make it freeze. I can put in a new bug report for that though. ** Affects: d2x-rebirth (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1881355 Title: Game freezes on screen resolution change.
