2020-08-18 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better.
Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem, rather
than a bug in Ubuntu, I'm marking this bug as Incomplete.

If indeed this is a local configuration problem, you can find pointers
to get help for this sort of problem here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community

Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it
helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem,
explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem
specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New.

[Bug 1891643] Re: amavisd-new suggests missing packages

2020-08-18 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

It looks like you are correct. But is there a specific reason this is
causing an actual problem for you? Otherwise, it looks like this is
extremely low priority to fix.

amavisd-new packaging is derived from Debian. It looks like Debian is
also suggesting/recommending packages that don't exist, so this would be
best fixed there. Can I suggest that you file an equivalent bug in
Debian?

In Ubuntu, I don't expect this to be worked on unless someone makes a
case for why it actually impacts users.

[Bug 1891548] Re: autofs-ldap's /etc/ldap/schema/autofs.schema crashes slapd

2020-08-18 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

Since this affects an unusual end-user configuration, I'm setting
Importance to Low, and I don't expect anyone to work on this soon.
However if you can help definitively explain what needs adjusting to fix
this correctly, then that would be helpful and we can try to help get
that fix landed. Caveat: normally we'd expect an explanation and patch
to be sent to Debian first.

I'm deferring a decision on whether or not this requires a fix in
openldap until the above is clear.

[Bug 1890611] Re: mysql-server does not take into account configured ssl parameters

2020-08-18 Thread Robie Basak
There is no fundamental difference between a "public" and a "private"
CA. The only difference is in what root certificates (if any) are
trusted.

Since your report is "mysql-server does not take into account configured
ssl parameters" I see no reason why a simple reproduction of your case
with self-signed certificates should not be possible.

I suggest you start by trying to provide full steps to reproduce your
problem using self-signed certificates. If you cannot, but the same
configuration steps do not work when adjusted to use certificates signed
by Let's Encrypt, then that would demonstrate that the problem somehow
only exhibits itself when using a "public CA". Either way, please
provide such reproduction steps and then we can look again.

[Bug 1891259] Re: snap installation with core18 fails at 'Ensure prerequisites for "etcd" are available' in air-gapped environments

2020-08-18 Thread Zygmunt Krynicki
I think that you will find that using `snap ack...` is the right thing
to do. I didn't test this manually but the use of `--dangerous` creates
quite a different environment than without it.

[Bug 1888052] Re: package postfix 3.4.13-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: new postfix package pre-installation script subprocess was killed by signal (Complété)

2020-08-18 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for your report.

This looks like a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in
Ubuntu.

You can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community

Since we use this bug tracker to track bugs in Ubuntu, rather than
configuration problems, I'm marking this bug as Invalid. This helps us
to focus on fixing bugs in Ubuntu.

If you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem,
explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem
specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New.

[Bug 1878721] Re: memcached looks for SASL configuration at wrong path /etc/sasl2/memcached.conf/memcached.conf (18.04→20.04 regression)

2020-08-18 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package memcached - 1.5.10-0ubuntu3.1

---
memcached (1.5.10-0ubuntu3.1) eoan; urgency=medium

  * d/p/fix-bug-where-sasl-will-load-config-the-wrong-path.patch:
Fix the path from which SASL configuration is loaded. (LP: #1878721)
The bug happened because sasl expects memcached to provide a
path (i.e., a directory, not a filename) where the sasl
configuration file(s) is (are). However, memcached was passing
the filename (/etc/sasl2/memcached.conf) to sasl, which was
interpreting it as a directory, and looking for a configuration
file inside it (i.e., /etc/sasl2/memcached.conf/memcached.conf).
Users could workaround this bug by creating a directory named
/etc/sasl2/memcached.conf/, and putting the configuration file
inside it. This patch not only fixes this bug (by passing the
right directory, /etc/sasl2/, to sasl) but also supports the
workaround described above.
