[Bug 1892335] [NEW] New upstream microreleases 9.5.23 10.14 and 12.4
Public bug reported: [Impact] * MRE for latest stable fixes of Postgres release on August 13th. [Test Case] * The Postgres MREs traditionally rely on the large set of autopkgtests to run for verification. In a PPA those are all already pre-checked to be good for this upload. [Regression Potential] * Upstreams tests are usually great and in additon in the Archive there are plenty of autopkgtests that in the past catched issues before being released. But never the less there always is a risk for something to break. Since these are general stable releases I can't pinpoint them to a most-likely area. - usually this works smoothly except a few test hickups (flaky) that need to be clarified to be sure. Pre-checks will catch those to be discussed upfront (as last time) [Other Info] * This is a reoccurring MRE, see below and all the references * This includes a fix for two CVEs: CVE-2020-14349 CVE-2020-14350 --- Current versions in supported releases: postgresql-9.5 | 9.5.21-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 xenial postgresql-10 | 10.12-0ubuntu0.18.04.1 bionic postgresql-12 | 12.2-4 focal Special cases: - Groovy will as usual be synced from Debian. [Bug 1892333] [NEW] Hidden text in LibreOffice Calc when using Breeze Dark theme
Public bug reported: There are cases where text and/or button graphics do not appear in LibreOffice (Calc and Draw, at least) when using the Breeze Dark theme in Kubuntu 20.04.1. This is one example. In Calc, in the "Find & Replace" window (CTRL-H), click on "Find All". If there are multiple results, they are listed with alternating background colors. [Bug 1892320] [NEW] No-change rebuild for focal-updates
Public bug reported: [Impact] The purpose with this no-change rebuild is to have the fonts-noto-core and fonts-noto-ui-core binaries land in focal-updates, and with that make it possible to move them to main. The measure is closely related to bug #1891733. [Test Case] Confirm that fonts-noto-core and fonts-noto-ui-core can be installed from focal-proposed. [Regression risk] Source unchanged - not applicable. ** Affects: fonts-noto (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Fix Released ** Affects: fonts-noto (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Gunnar Hjalmarsson (gunnarhj) Status: In Progress ** Also affects: fonts-noto (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: fonts-noto (Ubuntu Focal) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: fonts-noto (Ubuntu Focal) Assignee: (unassigned) => Gunnar Hjalmarsson (gunnarhj) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1892320 Title: No-change rebuild for focal-updates To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fonts-noto/+bug/1892320/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1891877] Re: Further stabilize qemu in Focal by updating to 4.2.1 stable release
** Description changed: [Impact] * There are various issues that are fixed by the stable release of 4.2.1 Most prominently a bunch of memory leaks that will help long running instances to not get into trouble later on * There are also a number of CVEs covered, but those got added in a bigger security update of 1:4.2-3ubuntu6.4 just before this upload, so they are not "new" in 4.2.1 anymore for Ubuntu users. [Test Case] * Being a stabilization minor release there is no individual test to apply. Instead we will pass it through the full regression test suite and probably keep it some extra days in -proposed. * Openstack indirectly depends on this for bug 1891203, so I'll ask them if they can test this as well before we release it. [Regression Potential] * Naturally with so many changes it is hard to pinpoint the location of potential regression. But the changes were those meant to be non-count- impacting-fixes meant for a stable release and got some testing by the community already. [Other Info] * We will hold this longer in -proposed and do even more testing to make up for the remaining regression potential uncertainty - * This is a continuation of bug 1867519 which contained such changes that -were available prior to the focal release, but now upstream tagged -those and some more as v4.2.1 + * This is a continuation of bug 1867519 which contained such changes that + were available prior to the focal release, but now upstream tagged + those and some more as v4.2.1 + * This also fixes an issue in riscv emulation that was introduced in +recent security release of 1%4.2-3ubuntu6.4 by adding +https://git.qemu.org/?p=qemu.git;a=commit;h=70b78d4e71 --- Upstream has completed the 4.2.1 stable tag https://github.com/qemu/qemu/releases/tag/v4.2.1 Fixes are in groovy already via qemu 5.0 These are only non-feature backports, the majority this time being memleaks and bad accesses of some sort. Some of the patches are already present in Ubuntu's 4.2 as of today. But adding the others will serve the stability of our most recent LTS. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1891877 Title: Further stabilize qemu in Focal by updating to 4.2.1 stable release To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/1891877/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1870736] Re: [nvidia] Screen scaling 125% gives 200%
@optonox, I think you will not get a satisfactory answer to your questions. The issues that manifest this behaviour, as I understand it, are sprawling. The implementation of highDPI on the platform is quite naive, and fragmented due to the various packages handling the rendering, and the various UI libraries used to create the apps. That's before we get to driver vendors etc. I'm just a user, and image processing/computer graphics is my full time job - I wouldn't know where to start contributing. It is going to be a long, long road to a decent experience for High DPI screens and multiple DPI setups. That's my very unhelpful 2 pennies worth, hope it helps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1870736 Title: [nvidia] Screen scaling 125% gives 200% To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1870736/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
