This extra cursor frozen on screen issue exists in 20.10 Groovy Gorilla. (Just installed 20.10 on Lenovo T14 AMD and have a few issues to research.) Actual behavior: - Fractional scaling is on (actually needed to make laptop screen readable). - Extra cursor frozen on screen. [Bug 1901272] Re: Can't connect Bluetooth devices after reboot - Ubuntu 20.10 on Raspberry Pi 4
First of all, this bug is so unpredictable, it's hard to replicate "on demand". It was happening when I power off device and back on and after restart it works, so it's not only what I said in description. @Dave yes I installed your ppa and after that no device associated before were present in gnome Bluetooth setting. Pairing again first was failing but after some retries and a restart it's ok. Now I wait to see if bug is coming back but another annoying thing happened. Two devices I use, one is Mi Silent Mouse and another is Microsoft Bluetooth Keyboard. Now after ppa the keyboard disconnect after only few seconds and it has very hard time connecting back when I press any key. With old blues it disconnect after many minutes, so it was tolerable. After all both devices are by 4.0 LE and should not disconnect or should connect instantly with buffered keys pressed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1901272 Title: Can't connect Bluetooth devices after reboot - Ubuntu 20.10 on Raspberry Pi 4 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+bug/1901272/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1903420] [NEW] Qemu clients lose Internet access on upgrade to Groovy Gorilla
Public bug reported: Starting configuration. Ubuntu 20.04, Qemu (repository version), also the latest Docker snap. Actions: Upgrade to Ubuntu 20.10. Qemu and Docker will have been upgraded too, I assume. Result: The system is fine. However, when I start a Qemu client, it can no longer access the Internet (via the host machine). Investigation: The network is fine. Clients can access the host. Everything checked out. I suspected that there were issues with the iptables. I discovered that Ubuntu 20.10 had been switched to using nftables rather than the legacy iptables. There are now two iptables command variants - 'iptables-nft' (aliased to 'iptables') and 'iptables-legacy'. Investigation using 'iptables-legacy' showed a rule on the FORWARD chain which dropped all packets. The rule was added by the Docker snap. I replaced the iptables legacy DROP rule with an ACCEPT rule and the clients were able to access the Internet again. This confirmed the cause of the issue. I disabled the Docker snap package and rebooted and the legacy rules were not created and the clients could access the Internet via the host. Conclusion: The Canonical supplied Docker snap is creating the iptables rules using the legacy command, and not the nft version of the command. This is causing the issue with the Qemu client. ** Affects: docker (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1903420 Title: Qemu clients lose Internet access on upgrade to Groovy Gorilla To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/docker/+bug/1903420/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1876753] Re: Thinkpad T430 Power Cycles instead of rebooting
I found the root of the issue. Ubuntu 19.10, clean installation, no updates. When the following packages are update: grub-common from version (2.04-1ubuntu12) to (2.04-1ubuntu12.2) grub2-common from version (2.04-1ubuntu12) to (2.04-1ubuntu12.2) grub-efi-amd64-bin from version (2.04-1ubuntu12) to (2.04-1ubuntu12.2) grub-efi-amd64-signed from version (1.128+2.04-1ubuntu12) to (1.128.2+2.04-1ubuntu12.2) grub-pc from version (2.04-1ubuntu12) to (2.04-1ubuntu12.2) grub-pc-bin from version (2.04-1ubuntu12) to (2.04-1ubuntu12.2) I can confirm that these packages are responsible for the reboot issue and trying to install the outdated versions of ubuntu 19.10 on ubuntu 20.04 or 20.10 the laptop restarts normally. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1876753 Title: Thinkpad T430 Power Cycles instead of rebooting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub/+bug/1876753/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1901430] Re: After suspend stylus position confused about rotated screen in multi-monitor setup
This kept bothering me so I came up with a work-around. I put the following file (with chmod 755 so it could be executed) in /etc/pm/sleep.d/ and called it 20_map-to-display. You have to use the xinput and xrandr commands to determine what your display is called (where I have LVDS-1) and which input devices are not mapped properly (numbers to put in where I have 13, 14, and 16), and modify those parameters. I think I also had to install pm-utils with apt. [Bug 1835024]
Hi Oliver, Thank you for your report. I was unable to reproduce this issue on Firefox Release version 81.0 (64-bit) Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu canonical 1.0 , but I did reproduce the issue by downloading Firefox Nightly 84.0a1 (2020-11-14) (64-bit) and installing it on a different location (for example in Desktop Folder "Nightly"). I'll add this ticket to the Widget GTK component in the hope their team can take a look at this and share their feedback. [Bug 1903391] Re: linux-cloud-tools and linux-cloud-tools-common disagree on file paths
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1903391/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. Public bug reported: Situation: (focal) ubuntu-minimal + linux-virtual-hwe-20.04 + linux-cloud-tools-virtual-hwe-20.04 Running as a Gen-2 Hyper-V guest on Windows 10. 1) Ubuntu release Description:Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS Release:20.04 2) package versions linux-cloud-tools-5.4.0-52: Installed: 5.4.0-52.57 linux-cloud-tools-common: Installed: 5.4.0-52.57 3) expected behavior hv_kvp_daemon should work out of the box, providing information to the Hyper-V host. 4) actual behavior hv_kvp_daemon logs errors about not finding files it needs to provide the information: hv_kvp_daemon[276209]: sh: 1: /usr/libexec/hypervkvpd/hv_get_dns_info: not found hv_kvp_daemon[276211]: sh: 1: /usr/libexec/hypervkvpd/hv_get_dhcp_info: not found 5) anasysis The actual hv_kvp_daemon binary is hardcoded with a path to the sub- utilities it uses (I don't think it is runtime configurable). $ strings /usr/lib/linux-tools-5.4.0-52/hv_kvp_daemon | grep libexec /usr/libexec/hypervkvpd/%s /usr/libexec/hypervkvpd/%s %s These binaries are instead located at: $ locate hv_get_dns_info /usr/sbin/hv_get_dns_info Suggested solution: either compile hv_kvp_daemon so it uses /usr/sbin instead of /usr/libexec/hypervkvpd, or (probably easier) make linux- cloud-tools-common install the scripts in /usr/libexec/hypervkvpd instead of in /usr/sbin, or (easiest) install an extra symlink as in the workaround below. 6) workaround $ sudo mkdir /usr/libexec $ sudo ln -s /usr/sbin /usr/libexec/hypervkvpd ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1903391 Title: linux-cloud-tools and linux-cloud-tools-common disagree on file paths To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1903391/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1846944] Re: Nextcloud client app indicator icon not visible in 19.10 Eoan Beta

[Bug 1902857] Re: beignet error on haswell GPU
"error, type is 4592, error status is -5" is a rather generic error: those codes are CL_OUT_OF_RESOURCES (on the GPU) during CL_COMMAND_NDRANGE_KERNEL (a normal OpenCL computation). The other error message ("Input/output error") doesn't match, so this probably _isn't_ 100639 ("Device or resource busy") or a simple out-of-memory ("No space left on device"). It _might_ be https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91525 (which doesn't have the second message, but it only appears if beignet was compiled with debugging messages enabled). I'm not sure what to try next. (beignet is dead upstream, and may be removed from future Debian/Ubuntu along with llvm-toolchain-9, as it doesn't work with llvm-toolchain-10. Its replacement is intel-opencl-icd, but that requires newer hardware than yours.) ** Bug watch added: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #91525 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91525 ** Changed in: beignet (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New ** Bug watch removed: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #100639 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100639 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1902857 Title: beignet error on haswell GPU To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/beignet/+bug/1902857/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
