[Bug 258705]
The bug is still present in version: 7.1.0.0.alpha1+ I had a look, it is due to the "sort by X value" being done in the view part (in VDataSeries::doSortByXValues()) without updating the model data, while the tooltip text is generated by lcl_getDataPointValueText in ObjectNameProvider.cxx in the controller part, which has access to the model data, but not the view data and the VDataSeries correctly sorted. [Bug 1815036] Re: uri defined for connectivity check does not have IPv6 address
As of now connectivity-check.ubuntu.com has still no record and... it causes no IPv6 problem on Ubuntu 20.04. I doubt it ever did. "ping www.google.com" and "getent ahosts www.google.com" show that the system prefers IPv6 anyway. As expected, only changing /etc/gai.conf makes "ping www.google.com" and "getent ahosts www.google.com" prefer IPv4. Nothing else does. I also tried to change the connectivity uri to http://fedoraproject.org/static/hotspot.txt (which has ) and it made no difference whatsoever anywhere compared to connectivity- check.ubuntu.com > As a result, the IPv6 default routes will be heavily deprioritised (ie: having 2 added to the metric) My default IPv6 route had a 20100 metric in every single combination I tried. Using fedoraproject.org made no difference. Note I have a single wired interface, no wifi. AFAIK IPv6 route metrics are only compared to other IPv6 routes, not to IPv4 routes. It's not like each packet has a choice between the two. [Bug 576602] Re: Fancontrol relies on the module load order
This problem still exists in ubuntu 20.04. It looks like a good solution to this problem would be to use the contents of /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon*/name instead of the hwmon device number. fancontrol uses these name files to do the verification that results in the errors in this bug report. I used Thomas's workaround, it worked. My module order was slightly more complicated, because I had additional devices involved in the random ordering. I added softdeps for all of them: $ grep -H . /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon*/name /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon0/name:amdgpu /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon1/name:nct6798 /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon2/name:k10temp /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon3/name:hidpp_battery_0 /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon4/name:asus # cat /etc/modprobe.d/fancontrol.conf softdep nct6775 pre: amdgpu softdep k10temp pre: nct6775 softdep asus_wmi pre: k10temp softdep hid_logitech_hidpp pre: k10temp To figure out which devices it wants to have which numbers, look at: # grep DEVNAME /etc/fancontrol DEVNAME=hwmon1=nct6798 hwmon2=k10temp My motherboard is an Asus TUF X570. I am not entirely certain that I got the right modules for the asus and hidpp_battery_0 hwmon devices. fancontrol and pwmconfig are in the fancontrol package. Upstream is https://hwmon.wiki.kernel.org/lm_sensors The download link on that page is a git archive which does contain fancontrol and pwmconfig. [Bug 1818918] Re: gdb doesn't search in debug-file-directory for .gnu_debugaltlink
@tdaitx asked me to take a look at this problem, and here is what I found. 1) As he said above, the problem is that Debian/Ubuntu generate .gnu_debugaltlink sections containing full pathnames to the DWZ alt debug files. IMO, we should be using dwz's "--relative" option when invoking it via dh_dwz. I will send a merge request on Salsa and propose that we adopt this flag as a distro. 2) While we could use the workaround described in the last comment, I think it is better if GDB is adjusted to cope with this scenario (i.e., having a full pathname on .gnu_debugaltlink, but having the actual DWZ file in another directory that is also provided as the debug-file- directory to GDB). I went ahead and submitted a patch to GDB to do just that: https://sourceware.org/pipermail/gdb-patches/2020-November/173276.html I think searching for the DWZ files using the debug-file-directory provided by the user is a sensible approach, and is also something that other projects (namely elfutils) seem to do. All in all, as I said in (1), I think the best long-term solution is to adjust dh_dwz to put relative pathnames in the .gnu_debugaltlink. Arguably, we could also create a symlink in /usr/lib/debug/.build-id/ and make it point to the corresponding file inside /usr/lib/debug/.dwz/, but that is an orthogonal issue and would not help with this specific bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1818918 Title: gdb doesn't search in debug-file-directory for .gnu_debugaltlink To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/apport/+bug/1818918/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 838381] Re: The cursor in active terminal window stops blinking after ten seconds.
I have to agree % with @Olli Kankare. "To save energy" is so ridiculous that is hilarious! A simple blinking cursor that suddenly just stops for no reason, looks like the system has CRASHED!! This is even more important when you deal with the system's TERMINAL! Anywhere else the cursor keeps blinking normally. [Bug 331506] Re: BOINC randomly freezes Ubuntu (Intrepid 64 bit)
Me too! My case is exactly the same as above accept I'm dumb and decided to run it on a server. After a couple of days of finding the server unresponsive after a few hours, I was pretty sure the thing that changed was adding project 'milkyway at home'. i have had two other projects running without incident. i had also been working on the newfangled (to me anyways) systemd-resolvconf as well as doing some ufw work around the same time that server started crashing so am reverting and changing those as well as i try to isolate the problem. Though i was unable to connect to server (assuming through the roof load (verified)) however oddly enough it did respond to soft power from cloud console. I'm 99.9% sure boinc is the issue simply based on above descriptions. i'll know in 24 hours and will update tomorrow. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/331506 Title: BOINC randomly freezes Ubuntu (Intrepid 64 bit) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/boinc/+bug/331506/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1904306] [NEW] bcm2835-v4l2 does not detect/expose the second camera on RPi Compute Module 3+ in Ubuntu Server 20.04.1
Public bug reported: This is for video4linux, libv4l or related. There appears to be an issue in or around bcm2835-v4l2 not detecting/configuring/exposing the second camera in Ubuntu Server 20.04.1 on the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 3+ hardware. Followed the official instructions at https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/computemodule/cmio- camera.md and used the .dts file they supplied (https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/computemodule/dt- blob-dualcam.dts) First, I confirmed that compiling the dt-blob.bin file and dropping it to /boot/dt-blob.bin made it work in Raspberry Pi OS: I could capture images from either of the cameras. (Expected behavior) However, after switching to Ubuntu Server 20.04.1 (from https://ubuntu.com/download/raspberry-pi) and compiling the same suggested dual .dts and dropping it to /boot/firmware/dt-blob.bin the system only provides /dev/video0. In both cases ‘start_x=1’ is present in config.txt It appears that the loop in drivers/staging/vc04_services/bcm2835-camera/bcm2835-camera.c is not executed for each camera present and configured in RPi CM3+, resulting in only one camera exposed to the end user. The value of MAX_BCM2835_CAMERAS of 2 should be respected; something in the code/default configuration/environment is affecting this functionality. Here’s what I see in dmsg: Raspberry Pi OS: [7.674728] videodev: Linux video capture interface: v2.00 [7.740370] bcm2835-isp bcm2835-isp: Device node output[0] registered as /dev/video13 [7.740908] bcm2835-isp bcm2835-isp: Device node capture[0] registered as /dev/video14 [7.741486] bcm2835-isp bcm2835-isp: Device node capture[1] registered as /dev/video15 [7.742841] bcm2835-isp bcm2835-isp: Device node stats[2] registered as /dev/video16 [9.004310] bcm2835-codec bcm2835-codec: Device registered as /dev/video10 [9.013003] bcm2835-codec bcm2835-codec: Device registered as /dev/video11 [9.022054] bcm2835-codec bcm2835-codec: Device registered as /dev/video12 [9.025325] bcm2835-v4l2: V4L2 device registered as video0 - stills mode > 1280x720 [9.033622] bcm2835-v4l2: Broadcom 2835 MMAL video capture ver 0.0.2 loaded. Useful commands to solve this problem were: for name in `dpkg -l | gawk -e '{print $2}'` ; do apt-cache policy $name; done | grep ppa ppa-purge ppa:ubuntugis -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1900916 Title: upgrade to latest stable release fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1900916/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1887190] Re: MSFT Touchpad not working on Lenovo Legion-5 15ARH05
@Baq Domalaq thank you for your help, but i couldn't make it to work. At filename it is (builtin) so i tried your method, but i can't download the file from #179 bcuz there's no file , just a page with some code lines that are also on #171. Anyway , when i typed "apt-get source linux-image-$(uname -r)" in root mode it says "You must put some 'deb- src' URIs in your sources.list" which i don't understand what it means. Fixing this touchpad issue on linux seems to be beyond my knowledge. :) Thanks anyway -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1887190 Title: MSFT Touchpad not working on Lenovo Legion-5 15ARH05 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/pop-os/+bug/1887190/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1904297] [NEW] update notifier disruptive popup
Public bug reported: Lubuntu 20.04 Update notifier keeps interrupting every hour or two by appearing on top of work. Nobody in their right mind would do this intentionally so it must be a bug.
