The failed autopkgtests in the #20 is not a real regression, please
visit https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/packages/o/openjdk-8/groovy/armhf,
we could see this testcase often fails by random chance.

And the change in this SRU doesn't affect openjdk, it only do some
change in a c file.

[Bug 1911219] Re: [nouveau] Xorg freeze

2021-01-17 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks but unfortunately that did not help. Next please try all of these
steps:

1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run:
ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash
Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug.

2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where
ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine.
Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please
send the links to us.

3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921,
reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1.

Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are
unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security
risk for yourself.

I just received an patch yesterday on Live patch for Ubuntu 20.04.1, the

this same bug from Ubuntu. Did try blacklisting intel_vbtn "sudoedit
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-intel_vbtn.conf" but the bug continues on my
Dell Inspiron 15 5558.

This "cat /sys/class/dmi/id/chassis_type" give me a number: 9.

Is there anyother fix? and any potential dates the patch for the same is

fail to start:

Unable to load native library:

I can see the bug report
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openjdk-11-jre-
dcevm/+bug/1890482 however it applies to a different dcevm version,
therefore I thought to open a new bug report - hopefully that was the
correct thing to do.

[Bug 1909732] Re: Gnome Shell freezes for 2 minutes on unlock when mobile phone is connected (log shows gvfsd PTP errors)

2021-01-17 Thread Daniel van Vugt
In order to track down the source of the problem further, you would need
to keep the phone plugged in and then try:

  * gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.desktop-icons show-mount
false

  * Toggling extensions in the Extensions app.

If you are not interested in doing that, it's OK. We can just close the
bug.

[Bug 1906476] Re: PANIC at zfs_znode.c:335:zfs_znode_sa_init() // VERIFY(0 == sa_handle_get_from_db(zfsvfs->z_os, db, zp, SA_HDL_SHARED, >z_sa_hdl)) failed

2021-01-17 Thread Trent Lloyd
This issue seems to have appeared somewhere between zfs-linux
0.8.4-1ubuntu11 (last known working version) and 0.8.4-1ubuntu16.

When the issue first hit, I had zfs-dkms installed, which was on
0.8.4-1ubuntu16 where as the kernel build had 0.8.4-1ubuntu11. I removed
zfs-dkms to go back to the kernel built version and it was working OK.
linux-image-5.8.0-36-generic is now released on Hirsute with
0.8.4-1ubuntu16 and so now the out of the box kernel is also broken and
I am regularly having problems with this.

linux-image-5.8.0-29-generic: working
linux-image-5.8.0-36-generic: broken

`
lathiat@optane ~/src/zfs[zfs-2.0-release]$ sudo modinfo
/lib/modules/5.8.0-29-generic/kernel/zfs/zfs.ko|grep version
version: 0.8.4-1ubuntu11

lathiat@optane ~/src/zfs[zfs-2.0-release]$ sudo modinfo
/lib/modules/5.8.0-36-generic/kernel/zfs/zfs.ko|grep version
version: 0.8.4-1ubuntu16
`

I don't have a good quick/easy reproducer but just using my desktop for
a day or two seems I am likely to hit the issue after a while.

I tried to install the upstream zfs-dkms package for 2.0 to see if I can
bisect the issue on upstream versions but it breaks my boot for some
weird systemd reason I cannot quite figure out as yet.

Looking at the Ubuntu changelog I'd say the fix for
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1899826 that landed in 0.8.4-1ubuntu13
to backport the 5.9 and 5.10 compataibility patches is a prime suspect
but could also be any other version. I'm going to try and 'bisect'
0.8.4-1ubuntu11 through 0.8.4-1ubuntu16 to figure out which version
actually hit it.

Since the default kernel is now hitting this, there have been 2 more
user reports of the same things in the upstream bug in the past few days
since that kernel landed and I am regularly getting inaccessible files
not just from chrome but even a linux git tree among other things I am
going to raise the priority on this bug to Critical as you lose access
to files so has data loss potential. I have not yet determined if you
can somehow get the data back, so far it's only affected files I can
replace such as cache/git files. It seems like snapshots might be OK
(which would make sense).

** Changed in: zfs-linux (Ubuntu)

2021-01-17 Thread Kai Engert
Sorry for the delays, I was out sick.

I can confirm the bug. When recently re-enabling this feature, I had tested
only using encrypted attachments which decrypt to plain text.
The bug occurs if the attachment decrypts to binary data.

I have a fix that I will send for review.

** Description changed:

  Hi

I have discover a odd bug on my laptop a Dell Latitude E6420 with the
Kernel 5.8.0. When I try use sound on my laptop with this Kernel there
is no sound. I decide to test another Kernel which is Kernel 5.4.0 and
when I use it sounds comes out of the computer without any problem. The
Linux I use i based on Ubuntu 20.04. And if I understand correctly there
are reports that 5.8.0 has removed many sound cards and that might be
the reason why my laptop doesn't have any sound with this Kernel. I hope
this will be fix in the future.

[Bug 1871268] Re: Installation fails due to useless immediate configuration error when "Install Third-Party Drivers" is selected

2021-01-17 Thread Leslie Satenstein
Tried to install 2021-01-17... Failure. But I could get into terminal
mode. What to add to complete the installation.

It would be useful to have a patch/script file that I could run in
terminal mode that would perform all the corrections.

[Bug 1906128] Re: Touchpad not detected on ByteSpeed C15B laptop

2021-01-17 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
Hello Tom,

It will be great if you can help out to verify this.

To do so for Xenial, you will need to install Ubuntu Xenial and enable
the "proposed" pocket [1] on it, then dist-upgrade to the latest kernel
and reboot to see if it works.

The same applies to other releases, you can verify the version that you can.
Thanks!

available on that github which I haven't tried, so if you find a better

[Bug 1830226] Re: systemtap currently broken in xenial

2021-01-17 Thread Dan Streetman
Unfortunately, Xenial is so old that neither systemtap nor elfutils will
build there without some work, and since Xenial reaches its end of
(normal) life in just a few months, I don't think it's worth putting in
the time for it.

However, I did set up a daily build for elfutils:
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-support-team/+archive/ubuntu/elfutils

And I updated the daily build for systemtap to depend on that, so the
daily systemtap builds should now start using the latest elfutils.

[Bug 1912034] Re: At end of install process, installer said "fatal error"

2021-01-17 Thread Chris Guiver
Launchpad bugs can be converted into questions (geared at support), or
you can ask a question directly at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu.

You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your
local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at
https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support
options please look at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-
support/709 (what I've provided thus far is for Ubuntu and all official
flavors of Ubuntu).

Ubuntu-MATE also has it's own resources too, eg. https://ubuntu-
mate.community/

Bug reporting is mostly about finding & fixing problems thus preventing
future users from hitting the same bug (not support).

Hi Marius.I want to confirm some details:
1.Could you provide me specific firmware (e.g. BIOS、ME……) that snap-store
offered.
2.Do you still remember the version of the firmware before and after upgrade.
   3. As description, you fix it through one instruction from “rescue USB”.
Could you provide this tool, it helps to fix issue.
