[Bug 1917414] Re: Ceph-osd fails to start with "error while loading shared libraries: cannot make segment writable for relocation: Permission denied"
So I'm running into the same issue as well. It was working a few days ago even when I restarted my rpi 4 8gb also running ubuntu 20.04. I upgraded today and amongst the packages was ceph-osd. Then the rpi stopped working after a reboot. The last time the pi was upgraded was 2 weeks ago. This is still just a test cluster so I'm more than happy to do any testing to figure out what's going on here. 2021-03-05T21:15:56.786-0800 8d008040 0 set uid:gid to 64045:167 (ceph:ceph) 2021-03-05T21:15:56.786-0800 8d008040 0 ceph version 15.2.8 (bdf3eebcd22d7d0b3dd4d5501bee5bac354d5b55) octopus (stable), process ceph-osd, pid 3300 2021-03-05T21:15:56.786-0800 8d008040 0 pidfile_write: ignore empty --pid-file 2021-03-05T21:15:56.790-0800 8d008040 1 bdev create path /var/lib/ceph/osd/ceph-3/block type kernel 2021-03-05T21:15:56.790-0800 8d008040 1 bdev(0xaaab170f4000 /var/lib/ceph/osd/ceph-3/block) open path /var/lib/ceph/osd/ceph-3/block 2021-03-05T21:15:56.790-0800 8d008040 1 bdev(0xaaab170f4000 /var/lib/ceph/osd/ceph-3/block) open size 8001561821184 (0x7470240, 7.3 TiB) block_size 4096 (4 KiB) rotational discard not supported 2021-03-05T21:15:56.790-0800 8d008040 1 bluestore(/var/lib/ceph/osd/ceph-3) _set_cache_sizes cache_size 1073741824 meta 0.4 kv 0.4 data 0.2 2021-03-05T21:15:56.790-0800 8d008040 1 bdev create path /var/lib/ceph/osd/ceph-3/block type kernel 2021-03-05T21:15:56.790-0800 8d008040 1 bdev(0xaaab170f4380 /var/lib/ceph/osd/ceph-3/block) open path /var/lib/ceph/osd/ceph-3/block 2021-03-05T21:15:56.794-0800 8d008040 1 bdev(0xaaab170f4380 /var/lib/ceph/osd/ceph-3/block) open size 8001561821184 (0x7470240, 7.3 TiB) block_size 4096 (4 KiB) rotational discard not supported 2021-03-05T21:15:56.794-0800 8d008040 1 bluefs add_block_device bdev 1 path /var/lib/ceph/osd/ceph-3/block size 7.3 TiB 2021-03-05T21:15:56.794-0800 8d008040 1 bdev(0xaaab170f4380 /var/lib/ceph/osd/ceph-3/block) close 2021-03-05T21:15:57.082-0800 8d008040 1 bdev(0xaaab170f4000 /var/lib/ceph/osd/ceph-3/block) close 2021-03-05T21:15:57.330-0800 8d008040 0 starting osd.3 osd_data /var/lib/ceph/osd/ceph-3 /var/lib/ceph/osd/ceph-3/journal 2021-03-05T21:15:57.330-0800 8d008040 -1 Falling back to public interface 2021-03-05T21:15:57.350-0800 8d008040 -1 load: jerasure load: lrc load dlopen(/usr/lib/aarch64-linux-gnu/ceph/erasure-code/libec_isa.so): /usr/lib/aarch64-linux-gnu/ceph/erasure-code/libec_isa.so: cannot make segment writable for relocation: Operation not permitted -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1917414 Title: Ceph-osd fails to start with "error while loading shared libraries: cannot make segment writable for relocation: Permission denied" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ceph/+bug/1917414/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1917974] [NEW] Xorg freeze
Public bug reported: I had been using the recommended nvidia driver (nvidia-driver-460). I recently changed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau for the following reasons: 1) The resolution configuration was not saved. It is, every power off and power on the resolution restarted to low resolution. 2) The syslog file in /var/log/ constantly was filled with logs (may be with a rate of 1 GB per hour), then, I was enforced to install busybox- syslogd to stop the logging and continue with activities. 3) When using xserver-xorg-video-nouveau, in contrast with nvidia- driver-460, i didn't had to reset the resolution configuration, which was great, but now the screen is constantly freezing and i had to use alt+SysRq+REISUB two times in a day ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: xorg 1:7.7+19ubuntu14 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.8.0-44.50~20.04.1-generic 5.8.18 Uname: Linux 5.8.0-44-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.16 Architecture: amd64 BootLog: Error: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/var/log/boot.log' CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CompositorRunning: None CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Fri Mar 5 22:59:16 2021 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: focal DistroVariant: ubuntu ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes GpuHangFrequency: Several times a week GpuHangReproducibility: Seems to happen randomly GpuHangStarted: Today GraphicsCard: NVIDIA Corporation GP108 [GeForce GT 1030] [10de:1d01] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd GP108 [GeForce GT 1030] [1458:375c] InstallationDate: Installed on 2021-02-27 (7 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 20.04.2.0 LTS "Focal Fossa" - Release amd64 (20210209.1) MachineType: Default string Default string ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-5.8.0-44-generic root=UUID=28228923-7b88-4688-b9fd-157d9ebc22df ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 SourcePackage: xorg Symptom: display Title: Xorg freeze UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 06/03/2020 dmi.bios.release: 5.11 dmi.bios.vendor: American Megatrends Inc. dmi.bios.version: 5.11 dmi.board.asset.tag: Default string dmi.board.name: X99-k9 dmi.board.vendor: MACHINIST dmi.board.version: V1.0 dmi.chassis.asset.tag: Default string dmi.chassis.type: 3 dmi.chassis.vendor: Default string dmi.chassis.version: Default string dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAmericanMegatrendsInc.:bvr5.11:bd06/03/2020:br5.11:svnDefaultstring:pnDefaultstring:pvrDefaultstring:rvnMACHINIST:rnX99-k9:rvrV1.0:cvnDefaultstring:ct3:cvrDefaultstring: dmi.product.family: Default string dmi.product.name: Default string dmi.product.sku: Default string dmi.product.version: Default string dmi.sys.vendor: Default string version.compiz: compiz N/A version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.102-1ubuntu1~20.04.1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 20.2.6-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx N/A version.xserver-xorg-core: xserver-xorg-core 2:1.20.9-2ubuntu1.2~20.04.1 version.xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev N/A version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:19.1.0-1 version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.99.917+git20200226-1 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.16-1 ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug focal freeze ubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1917974 Title: Xorg freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1917974/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1885474] Re: 1366x768 screen resolution broken, all other resolutions OK
I have the same issue. As mentioned in reddit thread in OP, the login screen displays properly at 1366x768. I'm running MATE so I'm not sure how to implement the workaround @johnnyl33-k mentions for Xubuntu since there are no reflection options. I will note setting rotation to 'upside-down' in Control Center->Monitor Preference does not suffer from the tearing the 'normal' rotation does. Re: [Bug 1816497] Re: [snap] vaapi chromium no video hardware decoding
Google has not removed API access. They have stopped a google key from working. It works fine, as far as I can tell. But you need to get your own key. [Bug 1917962] [NEW] can't save selected_device parameter
Public bug reported: simple-scan can't find my HP scanner. If I bring up simple-scan from the apps menu the Scanner box is blank and there's no way to enter data into it. If I start it from the command line, passing scanner type and IP address ( simple-scan hpaio:/net/psc_2500_series?ip=10.0.0.1 ) it finds the scanner and scans, and this scanner shows up in the Preferences "Scanner" box, but there's no way to save it on the Preferences screen. I can't find any way to set and save this preference via application configuration either. Using dconf-editor I can edit the selected-device parameter to add my scanner to the selected-devices field but when I start simple-scan it doesn't see the device. Curiously, if I use dconf- editor to change the save-directory field, the new directory is used to save. This bug was fixed in the package glib2.0 - 2.67.5-2 --- glib2.0 (2.67.5-2) experimental; urgency=medium * debian/tests/control: Build-Depend on libc6-dev; the `pollable` test requires it. See [upstream MR !1977][0]. The upstream tests now rely on finding "libutil.so", which is in libc6-dev. Once that MR, or something like it, is merged, we can remove this test-dep as the runtime library will be being used. [Bug 1848211]
(In reply to Balint Reczey from comment #4) > Please see the linked original bug for the reproducer. I looked at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/valgrind/+bug/1848211 but I still don't fully understand how/why/when this happens. There is some confusion because the patch is for .gnu_debugaltlink but the bug talks about .gnu_debuglink (but I assume it really is the altlink). I think what would be helpful was an explanation of how dh_dwz works. It looks like it runs dwz before the debuginfo is stripped into separate files. Which might explain why things look garbled (it should be run on the split .debug files of the package). It looks like the original bug was on arm32 with ld.so. But later in the bug report a x86_64 issue with glib2 library. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1848211 Title: [SRU] valgrind fails to use debug symbols from glib/gtk To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/valgrind/+bug/1848211/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1914456] Re: 120 sec kernel timeout is seen during SCSI remove_device.
Thanks for the clarification Jitendra, and for correcting my command! It was indeed wrong, apologies - the correct file to write is the one you've used, "/proc/sysrq-trigger". So, it seems we have a lock "situation" in iSCSI/scsi, I'll need to study more the code to understand how that is triggered and if it's expected when removing a scsi device suddenly. I want to try reproducing this - the data you provided is useful for that.
