So it happens not only to old presentations but to new ones as well. IDK - that test file actually crashed both 6.0.5 and 6.1 in my environment. Extracted the media files, the two .flv files work fine stand alone, but the .mpeg crashes the media player in my OS every time (not just in Impress). Speaking of which if I create a new Impress file and drop in one of the .flv files the new impress file works fine and the video plays fine. If I try to add the .mpeg file, using 6.0.5 than Impress hangs. Also, trying to check the properties of the Billy Elliot.mpeg file crashed gnome 'Files' twice. so, it is looking like the mpeg file is the culprit and the OS support changed. [Bug 1924825] [NEW] After upgrading to 21.04, F12 no longer toggles Guake.
Public bug reported: Description:Ubuntu Hirsute Hippo (development branch) Release:21.04 guake: Installed: 3.6.3-2 Candidate: 3.6.3-2 Since upgrading to 21.04, I can no longer use Guake as expected. My F12 key does not appear to function the way it used to. It will not summon the Guake window, and when I manually open it, pressing F12 will not cause the window to hide. Instead, pressing F12 prints a "~". In fact, many function keys seem to, including F5 through F8, F10, and F12. Interestingly, F11 does successfully toggle Guake in and out of fullscreen mode. When I check the shortcuts in the Guake Preferences, F12 is mapped to "Toggle Guake visibility". I can undo that mapping, set it to something else, and then successfully remap it to F12. But no matter what I set it to, it won't respond. I have tried apt purge on all things guake and reinstalled, but it hasn't fixed the problem. [Bug 1921539] Re: Add support for SBAT
@mario, I turn secure boot on, and boot into OS, then run the fwupdmgr install command, then reboot, then I saw the failure. One more thing, for new shim + groovy grub, I found the same failure happens if I use groovy/grub 1.155+2.04-1ubuntu35 as boot into OS (so I can't boot into OS with this grub), however if I use groovy/grub 1.167+2.04-1ubuntu44 from the update channel, then I can boot into OS. Feel free to ask questions if anyone wants to reproduce and doesn't know certain steps in detail, or you want to know my steps in more detail as reviewing. [Bug 1922297] Re: 20.10 to 21.04: snap does not upgrade channel
Hello Joshua, or anyone else affected, Accepted ubuntu-release-upgrader into bionic-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source /ubuntu-release-upgrader/1:18.04.43 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository. Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed- bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification- failed-bionic. In either case, without details of your testing we will not be able to proceed. Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance for helping! N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s) fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in -proposed for a minimum of 7 days. ** Changed in: ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu Bionic) Status: In Progress => Fix Committed ** Tags added: verification-needed-bionic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1922297 Title: 20.10 to 21.04: snap does not upgrade channel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1922297/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1768693] Re: Display flicker when starting/stopping SDL2 game
I guess I should add that this is caused by SDL hinting that the compositor should be disabled even when the game is running windowed. I've unchecked "Allow applications to block compositing" awhile ago and forgot I even made this ticket. I do still occasionally (once or twice a week) get accelerated applications failing to redraw, but since either 19.10 or 20.04 this only happens at the application level instead of the whole desktop and simply restarting the application (or dragging the tab to a new window in Firefox) works around the issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1768693 Title: Display flicker when starting/stopping SDL2 game To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libsdl2/+bug/1768693/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1917062] [NEW] Decryption passphrase prompt not displayed until escape is pressed (Xubuntu hirsute test case)
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Release: Xubuntu daily build (20210226 ISO). Testing installation with lvm+encryption (1451) SW and version: Not sure which package so reporting under cryptsetup. Could be plymouth? Expected: After a successful install with lvm+encryption, decryption prompt should be displayed during boot to enter passphrase. Actual: No prompt is displayed. If we hit 'Escape', text prompt is displayed and hitting 'Escape' again shows graphical prompt. This is main issue. Secondary issue with UX. a) on text prompt there is no space after the prompt. Not even colon. b) on graphical prompt no box is provided so user is confused where to click mouse button (unless it is just my (wrong) assumption, most people click on text input area first before start typing). Also either the hidden box is wrongly aligned or too large so that typed passphrase is not center-aligned below prompt text. Screenshots attached. ** Affects: xubuntu-artwork (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete ** Tags: hirsute iso-testing xubuntu -- Decryption passphrase prompt not displayed until escape is pressed (Xubuntu hirsute test case) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1917062 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The problem persists with Kernel 5.8.0-50, but I found out that it only occurs if the usage of the Nvidia GPU is set to "on-demand". In pure Intel or Nvidia mode the system boots as expected. The mode van be set via graphical Nvidia tool or via "prime-select {nvidia|intel|on-demand|query}".
