[Bug 1894619] Re: [2.82 regression] router announcements have 'forever' lifetime by default
Yeah I'm also not entirely sure. But I'm assuming that the maintainers insight into all the interactions is better than mine and therefore tend to follow. About the "why the difference DHCPv6 vs SLAAC" I think that is fine because the code now allows to behave different (reasonable). And the defaults as configured by NM or anything else could configure lifetimes for DHCPv6+SLAAC then no behavior change would happen. Thereby (with a lot of un-sureness left) I'd intend to drop this change now (somewhat early/mid in 21.10) to identify any worse fallout better now than later. I've closed my Debian bug that I spawned back in the day. I will prepare an upload of dnsmasq, then we will see which tests or behavior break on it nowadays. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1894619 Title: [2.82 regression] router announcements have 'forever' lifetime by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dnsmasq/+bug/1894619/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1933172] [NEW] btrfs: Attempting to balance a nearly full filesystem with relocated root nodes fails
Public bug reported: BugLink: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1933172 [Impact] If you attempt to balance a btrfs filesystem that is nearly full, and this filesystem has had a lot of small, medium and large files created and deleted, such that the b-tree needs to be rotated, when the balance fails due to not having enough free space, the kernel oops, and the btrfs filesystem hangs. The current 4.15.0-145-generic is still affected. I believe that this is a regression introduced in the fixing of CVE-2019-19036. [Testcase] I haven't reliably been able to create a script which places a btrfs filesystem into the state necessary to reproduce this issue, so I have just provided my qcow2 image with my btrfs filesystem which reproduces the issue 100% of the time. Download the image from here (warning size is 8.0gb): https://people.canonical.com/~mruffell/sf311164/ubuntu18.04-server-2.qcow2 Make a Ubuntu 18.04 VM. Attach the ubuntu18.04-server-2.qcow2 image to a new virtio disk. Note, ubuntu18.04-server-2.qcow2 does not have an operating system, it is just a data only volume. Mount the volume: $ sudo mount /dev/vdb /mnt Attempt to balance: $ sudo btrfs filesystem balance start --full-balance /mnt Segmentation fault (core dumped) Check dmesg for kernel oops: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/wjJNqKBCfh/ If you install the test kernel from the following ppa: https://launchpad.net/~mruffell/+archive/ubuntu/sf311164-test You should see this instead: $ sudo btrfs filesystem balance start --full-balance /mnt ERROR: error during balancing '/mnt': No space left on device There may be more info in syslog - try dmesg | tail Checking dmesg shows no kernel oops, and just info about the volume being too full to balance: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/4J8Gq2dtz4/ [Fix] I found the problem to be introduced in 4.15.0-109-generic, and 4.15.0-108-generic and earlier worked fine, which means we introduced a regression somewhere. [Bug 1933118] Re: Xorg freeze
If the mouse cursor still moves then Xorg is still working. This usually means it's the gnome-shell process that has frozen or crashed, so please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => gnome-shell (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Summary changed: - Xorg freeze + Screen freeze -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1933118 Title: Screen freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1933118/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1927868] Re: vRouter not working after update to 16.3.1
Our order of operations went as such: - All packages get updated to latest available Ussuri (16.3.1) for Bionic via apt-get dist-upgrade - Stop services (systemctl stop neutron-dhcp-agent; systemctl stop neutron-metadata-agent; systemctl stop neutron-ovs-cleanup; systemctl stop neutron-l3-agent; systemctl stop neutron-openvswitch-agent; systemctl stop neutron-server) - Upgrade database (neutron-db-manage current; neutron-db-manage upgrade heads) - Start services back up (systemctl start neutron-dhcp-agent; systemctl start neutron-metadata-agent; systemctl start neutron-ovs-cleanup; systemctl start neutron-l3-agent; systemctl start neutron-openvswitch-agent; systemctl start neutron-server) - All L3 agents for all routers elect to be down - Rebooted control plane several times while troubleshooting, L3 agents stay down - Found that 16.3.2 was available on staging repository, installed it, all L3 agents go to standby - Install 16.0.0 for Focal (all I could find during my scramble to fix the outage), L3 agents start to elect a master for each router - Later that week, re-attempt 16.3.1, all L3 agents go to standby - Find 16.2.0 for Bionic and downgrade to it, all L3 agents begin to elect masters -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1927868 Title: vRouter not working after update to 16.3.1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/neutron/+bug/1927868/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1927868] Re: vRouter not working after update to 16.3.1
It seems this may only present itself if neutron-server, etc are not upgraded and database migrations (ie. neutron-db-manage) are not run prior to network nodes being upgraded. In a juju deployment this means that neutron-api units need to be upgraded prior to neutron-gateway units. I'll test this theory again tomorrow from scratch to confirm as my current deployment has seen a lot of manual manipulation today. I'm curious if anyone who's hit this remembers the order of their upgrades. I came across this as I was bisecting upgrades of neutron-gateway to various upstream commits and HA routers started misbehaving when I upgraded to this commit https://opendev.org/openstack/neutron/commit/843b5ffd9a8ee3f4d9d8830f43aa3d517cc11e07 which has alembic migrations, and it dawned on me that the database hadn't been upgraded to include them. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1927868 Title: vRouter not working after update to 16.3.1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/neutron/+bug/1927868/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1932336] Re: Numerous ACPI BIOS Error (bug) errors during boot
These ACPI errors are the results of missing BIOS's ACPI (EC) device "IEC" - the real EC devices are I_EC and H_EC. Therefore, accessing _SB.PCI0.LPCB.IEC.ECRD fails and causes a chain of failures. The real impact is failing to access "_SB.PCI0.LPCB.I_EC.SEN2._TMP" (which access IEC.ECRD). _TMP is for reading temperatures. This means one of the temperature sensor may not be read correctly. However, it is just one of many sensors, and it can be one dummy sensor too. If you don't observe any odd behaviours, there is nothing to worry about. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1932336 Title: Numerous ACPI BIOS Error (bug) errors during boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1932336/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1903312] Re: Ubiquity not selecting correct timezone when connected to Internet
I've tested an Ubuntu Impish daily image from 2021-06-21 and booted it in KVM with no network adapter e.g.: kvm -m 4096 -boot d -nic none -cdrom /srv/new-vms/isos/ubuntu/impish- desktop-amd64.iso -hda /srv/vms/impish.qcow2 Even though I had no network adapter and connection the 'Where are you?' map showed my location as New York. So given that and the testing that you have done it seems to me that you were seeing New York as the location because the system being tested, Lenovo V14 IIL, did not have the drivers installed for its wireless network adapter. [Bug 1933022] Re: gnome control-center crashed with sigsegv in g_str_hash() whenever I try to add input sources
But seeing the version number seems like that I have the exact same version(40.0-1) installed. So doesn't that mean the patch should be applied already? But nonetheless I would want to try a candidate fix if I get one. And about the bug, I think this is somehow related to dconf database because when I had tried to add a source with a newly created account on the same machine, it did work, didn't crash (Exactly that's why I had been unable to reproduce it in vm). And noticing that I tried resetting few values to default on the dconf database related to ibus and input- sources( and losing some input settings along the way) the bug vanished. So yeah it's fixed for me but I would be following up and will try to analyze exactly which key or keys triggers the bug and will let you know if I find any. Furthermore, I don't know where but I can faintly remember that I saw something along the lines "Tried to access null vma" So that means it's a null pointer related bug too. ** Tags added: dconf gio -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1933022 Title: gnome control-center crashed with sigsegv in g_str_hash() whenever I try to add input sources To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-desktop3/+bug/1933022/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1933141] [NEW] USB Headset stopped working in Ubuntu Impish
Public bug reported: I follow Ubuntu Impish/development on my laptop (Lenovo ideapad 5-15IIL05/81YK00QYRA) I have all recent Impish updates and kernel linux-image-generic 5.11.0.18.19+21.10.1 into which I rebooted on Jun 5th Once I tried to plug into it an USB headset Jabra Evolve 20 MS and found that it is visible by lsusb as device 0b0e:0300 but not in audio devices. In dmesg -w, I see two lines Lockdown: systemd-udevd: unsigned module loading is restricted; see man kernel_lockdown.7 appearing immediately after plugging this device. I compared this hardware support with Ubuntu Focal LTS on the nearby Asus X302LA and found that its modules are loaded as expected, and it becomes visible, usable and manageable to all audio utilities (alsamixer, pavucontrol, firefox, vlc, whatever) Can this please be checked with Impish and fixed in some way ? I could not determine what module it deems unsigned. Ready to collect and provide additional required information on your request. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1933141 Title: USB Headset stopped working in Ubuntu Impish To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1933141/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
