[Bug 1934570] [NEW] emacs ediff mode treated badly
Public bug reported: Ratpoison is probably working as designed here, but the design should probably change. When running ediff-buffers in emacs, a tiny control window is spawn. This control window needs focus to accept commands while the two buffers under comparison each get half of a split window. So one window is for keyboard input, and the other window is for viewing. In ratpoison, that tiny control window is expanded to consume the whole frame thus hiding the comparison window. While it may be possible for users to create a small tile for the control frame and get the comparison window in an adjacent frame, it would be extremely tedious to do that every time someone needs to diff two files. Perhaps a workaround within emacs would be to embed the control window as a 3rd split, but then it takes up more screen estate and still imposes undue effort on the user. Ratpoison needs a mechanism to handle that situation more elegantly. One idea: make the control window a transparent overlay of the comparison window. I'm not sure if that requires ratpoison to detect and give special treatment to emacs, but in any case the status quo isn't good. ** Affects: ratpoison (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1934570 Title: emacs ediff mode treated badly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ratpoison/+bug/1934570/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1934409] Re: Only one monitor showing in Color Corrections - System Settings Module
Well, colord no one tracks bugs (and I see lot's of ancient and very open bugs). Seen a couple that may or may not be similar, and the bugs go all the way back to 11.04 - so I guess I'm the only person in the entire world experiencing this... But in case not, this problem would have a downstream effect on other projects: gnome-color-manager (in my case it's pulled in by colord-kde). Perhaps it's a problem in libxrandr2? [Bug 1921134] Re: SBAT shim 15.4 release
I tried installing the new shim package on a second system that also had Oracle Virtualbox 6.1 installed and didn't encounter the same issue on this system. I then tried upgrading the first system again after first uninstalling Virtualbox. This time there were no issues after the upgrade. I then reinstalled Oracle Virtualbox 6.1 on this system that prompted the installation of a new MOK. After registering the new key on a reboot everything is working fine now. I'm guessing there was some MOK issue specific to the system that was causing the issue, which was solved by a reinstallation of Virtualbox. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1921134 Title: SBAT shim 15.4 release To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/oem-priority/+bug/1921134/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1934566] [NEW] Plasma-discover does not play nice with plasma session
Public bug reported: Plasma has an option to start up restoring the last session (that gets autosaved at shutdown). This lets one find all his/her applications nicely opened in the correct virtual screens and locations after a logout and subsequent login (more or less as if he/her had just suspended the system). [Bug 1678187] Re: Removing a linux-image-extra package fails, if /boot is about full
This was a fresh install of 20.04. I enabled encryption as it's a work laptop. I don't think I have logs - just the failure due to /boot being full on the update UI. I then followed the instructions at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RemoveOldKernels under "Safely remove old kernels" so I could complete the update. There were no /boot/initrd.img-*.old-dkms files, just kernels and initrds corresponding to the kernels. /boot is about 700Mb. Public bug reported: Backlight does not change. Neither with the keys, nor with the slider. Values in /sys/class/backlight/amdgpu_bl0/brightness do change. However without effect on the actual brightness of the screen, which seems to be stuck at maximum brightness. Previously, these were multicolor icons; and, if possible, I'd like to display them as such (if this is possible), because they were more identifiable.
