[Bug 1917010] Re: Hard to detect double-clicks on the HiDPI touchscreen system
Yes, I will accomplish the testing and verification. However, gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons gets uninstalled on Impish because the gnome-shell in -proposed breaks gnome-shell-extension- desktop-icons (<< 21.04). ** Description changed: + == SRU Justification == + [Impact] + Double tap desktop icons on a touchscreen barely works. + + [Fix] + Because tapping isn't as precise as clicking, ignore the double click distance as long as the icon is tapped. + + [Test] + Roughly double tap the desktop icon and nothing happens. + After applying the fix, double tap can 100% open the app or directory. + + [Where problems could occur] + If the new code throws any exception, clicking can also be affected. + + == Original Bug Report == Double-clicks touchscreen on HiDPI system, sometime it will not be detected. [Bug 704763] Re: boot loader not installed to target disk
Same problem, 20.04 on 2019 Mac Pro. And in this case, I *can't* install GRUB on the internal drive at all, because the built-in NVME disk is non-writable in Linux. So I had to go through a lengthy process of mounting things and running grub manually with about a hundred- character-long command. Worse, every time I install any kind of update that upgrades the kernel, it looks like I have to repeat that whole lengthy process, or else the system won't be bootable. How is something so critical still so badly broken after this many years? Installing the bootloader on the same disk as the OS should be the DEFAULT. Installing it on some random disk shouldn't even be POSSIBLE, much less the only supported behavior. If the internal disk ever becomes writable in a future kernel update, this bug could be *seriously* bad. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/704763 Title: boot loader not installed to target disk To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/704763/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1936447] Re: Package post-install configuration fails
I thought that something as trivial as a syntax error was certainly caused by some Python version mismatch (default Python version on Trusty being 2.7). So I tried to launch the package configuration again (dpkg --configure solaar) in a shell where I had forced default Python version to 3.4, but to no avail. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1936447 Title: Package post-install configuration fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/solaar/+bug/1936447/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1936441] [NEW] Fixed-sized 32-bit types are incorrect on LP64
Public bug reported: The file `include/OMX_Types.h` contains these lines: ``` /** OMX_U32 is a 32 bit unsigned quantity that is 32 bit word aligned */ typedef unsigned long OMX_U32; /** OMX_S32 is a 32 bit signed quantity that is 32 bit word aligned */ typedef signed long OMX_S32; ``` These differ from the corresponding lines in the official OMX headers (https://www.khronos.org/registry/OpenMAX-IL/api/1.1.2/OpenMAX_IL_1_1_2_Header.zip): ``` /** OMX_U32 is a 32 bit unsigned quantity that is 32 bit word aligned */ typedef uint32_t OMX_U32; /** OMX_S32 is a 32 bit signed quantity that is 32 bit word aligned */ typedef int32_t OMX_S32; ``` It's unclear where this difference originated, but it results in the type `OMX_U32` being 64-bit on LP64 platforms, which produces an ABI incompatibility with software built with the official headers using correct types. I'd suggest replacing the headers in this package with the upstream ones, and possibly moving the standard `/usr/include/OMX_*.h` headers to their own package (`openmax-il- headers`? `openmax-il-devel`?) rather than bundling them with the Bellagio implementation. ** Affects: libomxil-bellagio (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1936441 Title: Fixed-sized 32-bit types are incorrect on LP64 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libomxil-bellagio/+bug/1936441/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1936437] Re: Backuppc autopkgtest fails doing ping6 due to 'Operation not permitted'
Thanks for the report, Bryce. As discussed, here is the proposed debdiff that fixes the problem on armhf. It is not entirely clear why reinstalling iputils-ping makes the test pass, but after preparing a PPA: https://launchpad.net/~sergiodj/+archive/ubuntu/backuppc-armhf/+packages and running autopkgtest on it, I verified that it works. I thought about submitting this to Debian, but now I'm not so sure it's going to be useful for them. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1936437 Title: Backuppc autopkgtest fails doing ping6 due to 'Operation not permitted' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/backuppc/+bug/1936437/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

ASPM issues come with quite different symptoms. Sometimes there's just a number of rx_missed errors and performance is significantly reduced, w/o tx timeout.
