[Bug 1946307] Re: Persistent loss of focus when an application goes full screen
Unfortunately the decision to minimize on a loss of focus is up to the game itself, so that part is not an Ubuntu bug. What is an Ubuntu bug is that desktop-icons-ng still steals and then quickly restores focus when an app goes fullscreen. This is harmless to most fullscreen apps but obviously not to some games. A proper fix might end up coming from mutter rather that desktop-icons- ng. I'm not sure yet. ** Summary changed: - Persistent loss of focus when an application goes full screen + Loss of focus when an application goes full screen ** Also affects: mutter (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1946307 Title: Loss of focus when an application goes full screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons-ng/+bug/1946307/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1065126]
We've hit 200 comments here and the vast majority of recent comments are arguing about exactly how dumb Firefox programmers like me are for not having fixed it yet, so I'm locking comments as there seems to be little point. We are actively working on a fix, but as several comments here have already pointed out, it isn't trivial and will come with some side- effects to 20-odd year old ways that Firefox has done downloads. The root cause of this issue is outlined in comment #22: avoiding dataloss when applications don't provide the user with control over the resulting file, while the file is stored ephemerally (ie in the temp folder) and gets deleted later. We'll update this bug when we're confident about those changes making their way to release. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1065126 Title: "Always do this from now on" does not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/firefox/+bug/1065126/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I'm not quite familiar with how this works, I think Martin is the right person to ask about it. I can dig if you want but I'd guess that this kind of stuff (the `:not(:-moz-lwtheme)` bits and such) is related: https://searchfox.org/mozilla- central/rev/9bc5dcea99c59dc18eae0de7064131aa20cfbb66/browser/themes/linux/browser.css#389-399 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1871644 Title: Top corners of Firefox windows have weird black protrusions from the rounded edges To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/firefox/+bug/1871644/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1871644]
This just became even more prominent in 95 with colorways. We need a way to support this with alpha visuals as XShape is neither available on Wayland nor on X11 with HW Webrender - i.e. it's only available in legacy fallback paths. As the default theme supports this (even though with a grey corner), I suppose this is not really a graphics but rather a theme issue. Emilio, do you happen to know how the default theme gets its corners and what would need to be done to make it work for other themes as well? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1871644 Title: Top corners of Firefox windows have weird black protrusions from the rounded edges To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/firefox/+bug/1871644/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1871644]
Wayland case seems to be a bit special as it produces gray corner even with Gtk theme (which works OK on X11/Alpha). [Bug 1946303] [NEW] No video after wake from S3 due to Nvidia driver crash
Public bug reported: Since upgrading to Ubuntu 21.10, my computer sometimes fails to properly wake from suspend. It does start running again, but there is no video output. I'm attaching text for two crashes from kernel log output. First is: /var/lib/dkms/nvidia/470.63.01/build/nvidia/nv.c:3967 nv_restore_user_channels+0xce/0xe0 [nvidia] Second is: /var/lib/dkms/nvidia/470.63.01/build/nvidia/nv.c:4162 nv_set_system_power_state+0x2c8/0x3d0 [nvidia] Apparently I'm not the only one having this problem with 470 drivers. https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=354445 https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/fixed-suspend-resume-issues-with-the-driver-version-470/187150 Driver 470 uses the new suspend mechanism via /usr/lib/systemd/system- sleep/nvidia. But I was using that mechanism with driver 460 in Ubuntu 21.04 and sleep was reliable then. Right now I'm going back to driver 460. [Bug 1938299] Re: Unable to SSH Into Instance when deploying Impish 21.10

In this state, it's not possible to reclaim the memory and the virtual GPU, they are stuck until the computer is powered off. After this QEMU guest freeze, it is impossible to power off the computer cleanly: it's required to forcefully shutdown, as the system fails to The telnet server from the guest still connect, but doesn't respond. Testing with drm-tip (commit 7c36ed237585ed2f645439e62dafccac070d5e33, from August), I was able to left the guest idle for hours with no problem multiple times, but using Ubuntu's generic (5.4, 5.8, 5.11) or oem (5.14) kernel this freeze is happening. [Bug 1946286] [NEW] Merge openssh from Debian unstable for 22.04
Public bug reported: Scheduled-For: 22.12 Upstream: tbd Debian: 1:8.4p1-6 Ubuntu: 1:8.4p1-6ubuntu2 Debian typically updates openssh every 1 months on average, but it was last updated 21.08 and looks overdue. Check back in on this monthly. ### New Debian Changes ### openssh openssh (1:8.4p1-6) unstable; urgency=medium [ Colin Watson ] * Rename ssh group to _ssh (closes: #990456). It now includes the authenticator data needed to validate attestation signatures. - The API between OpenSSH and the FIDO token middleware has changed and the SSH_SK_VERSION_MAJOR version has been incremented as a result. Third-party middleware libraries must support the current API version (7) to work with OpenSSH 8.4. - ssh(1), ssh-keygen(1): support for FIDO keys that require a PIN for each use. These keys may be generated using ssh-keygen using a new 'verify-required' option. When a PIN-required key is used, the user will be prompted for a PIN to complete the signature operation. - sshd(8): authorized_keys now supports a new 'verify-required' option to require FIDO signatures assert that the token verified that the user was present before making the signature. The FIDO protocol supports multiple methods for user-verification, but currently OpenSSH only supports PIN verification. - sshd(8), ssh-keygen(1): add support for verifying FIDO webauthn signatures. Webauthn is a standard for using FIDO keys in web browsers. These signatures are a slightly different format to plain FIDO signatures and thus require explicit support. - ssh(1): allow some keywords to expand shell-style ${ENV} environment variables. The supported keywords are CertificateFile, ControlPath, IdentityAgent and IdentityFile, plus LocalForward and RemoteForward when used for Unix domain socket paths. - ssh(1), ssh-agent(1): allow some additional control over the use of ssh-askpass via a new $SSH_ASKPASS_REQUIRE environment variable, including forcibly enabling and disabling its use (closes: #368657). - ssh(1): allow ssh_config(5)'s AddKeysToAgent keyword accept a time limit for keys in addition to its current flag options. Time-limited keys will automatically be removed from ssh-agent after their expiry time has passed. - scp(1), sftp(1): allow the -A flag to explicitly enable agent forwarding in scp and sftp. The default remains to not forward an agent, even when ssh_config enables it. - ssh(1): add a '%k' TOKEN that expands to the effective HostKey of the destination. This allows, e.g., keeping host keys in individual files using 'UserKnownHostsFile ~/.ssh/known_hosts.d/%k' (closes: #481250). - ssh(1): add %-TOKEN, environment variable and tilde expansion to the UserKnownHostsFile directive, allowing the path to be completed by the configuration. - ssh-keygen(1): allow 'ssh-add -d -' to read keys to be deleted from stdin. - sshd(8): improve logging for MaxStartups connection throttling. sshd will now log when it starts and stops throttling and periodically while in this state. - ssh(1), ssh-keygen(1):

[Bug 1946279] [NEW] GNOME session crashes on wakeup from sleep
Public bug reported: Upon waking up, my system occasionally has its GNOME session crash after logging in. This takes it back to the log-in screen, and resets the session with all previous windows lost. Here are some relevant logs. ``` 12:46:01 gnome-shell: The program 'gnome-shell' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'. (Details: serial 330049 error_code 11 request_code 12 (core protocol) minor_code 0) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the GDK_SYNCHRONIZE environment variable to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) 12:46:02 systemd-coredum: Process 3287 (gnome-shell) of user 1000 dumped core. [Bug 1921494] Re: ad_use_ldaps error could not start tls encryption
Hi Rex, Looking closer at the logging which you provided when debug_level = 4, the important part is: [sss_ldap_init_sys_connect_done] (0x0020): ldap_install_tls failed: [Connect error] [(unknown error code)] This looks very similar to this upstream bug report: https://github.com/SSSD/sssd/issues/5531 In which case, I believe the below commit should fix the issue: commit da55e3e69707de416b7949d08c165c950090bbb6 From: Iker Pedrosa Date: Wed, 3 Mar 2021 15:34:49 +0100 Subject: ldap: retry ldap_install_tls() when watchdog interruption Link: https://github.com/SSSD/sssd/commit/da55e3e69707de416b7949d08c165c950090bbb6 I will make some test packages for Bionic, Focal, Hirsute and Impish. Re: [Bug 1928393] Re: linux-firmware 1.197 causes kernel to report error "amdgpu: [gfxhub0] retry page fault"
Hello, I’d just like to report that I haven’t seen this problem in a while. The last time I see the “retry page fault” messages in my log was on August 9. I’ve been using the ‘amdgpu/picasso*‘ files from linux-firmware commit c46b8c364b82 (“ice: update package file to 1.3.26.0”) so apparently this particular problem was recently fixed. Which isn’t to say that I’m having a trouble-free amdgpu experience, unfortunately. Every week or so my laptop comes back from sleep with the screen and keyboard frozen (I can still ssh into it), but now the error is: kernel: [drm:drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_flip_done [drm_kms_helper]] *ERROR* [CRTC:67:crtc-0] flip_done timed out But it seems to be a separate problem from the one reported in this particular launchpad issue. I’ll see if I can find a more appropriate launchpad issue and post the details there. Thank you all for your help and support with this issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1928393 Title: linux-firmware 1.197 causes kernel to report error "amdgpu: [gfxhub0] retry page fault" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/amd/+bug/1928393/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
