[Bug 1947204] Re: rpackage apache2 2.4.46-4ubuntu1.3 failed to install/upgrade: installed apache2 package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. We will need more information in order to proceed with the investigation of the bug. Based on the logs posted, I could not determine the cause for the error message. When I repeat the steps described in the DpkgHistoryLog.log in a Focal container, namely: # apt-get install apache2 # apt-get purge apache2 # apt-get autoremove --purge # apt-get install apache2 Everything works as expected. Bear in mind, I have not modified any configuration file when running these tests. Therefore, I would like to ask you to provide: 1) More log files, especifically the Apache2 ones: /var/log/apache2/*, and "journalctl -u apache2.service". 2) Any custom configuration files for Apache2 that you might have. Since there is not enough information in your report to begin triage or to differentiate between a local configuration problem and a bug in Ubuntu, I am marking this bug as "Incomplete". We would be grateful if you would: provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to "New". [Bug 1947506] Re: failed to call "sudo ua attach 'key'" with unexpected error
Hi Florian, thanks for reporting this bug. This is probably happening because the machine has the cloud-init package installed but it was not fully run on the machine (which is not a problem per se). We have addressed this on our next release of ubuntu-advantage-tools that should be delivered very soon. Until that happens, you can add this at the end of /etc/ubuntu-advantage/uaclient.conf settings_overrides: cloud_type: "" And I believe it solve the problem for now. [Bug 1947141] Re: monitoring-plugins-standard check_mysql missing
Hello Bernd and thanks for this bug report. Your are right: check_mysql is missing from Hirsute but present in Focal and Impish. The Hirsute build log [1] shows the following at the configure stage: checking for mysql_init in -lmysqlclient... no checking for mysql_init in -lmariadbclient... no while for the versions in Focal and Impish we have: checking for mysql_init in -lmysqlclient... yes Interestingly if src:monitoring-plugins is rebuilt today in an up-to- date Hirsute chroot, then mysql_init is found and check_mysql is built and installed. What changed is the version of the libmysqlclient-dev build-dep (or, better, of src:mysql-8.0). The buggy version of the package has been built against version 8.0.23-1, which interestingly never left hirsute-proposed. Hirsute at the moment ships version 8.0.26-0ubuntu0.21.04.3. I believe we simply need a no-change rebuild to fix this. [Bug 1947587] [NEW] Context (right click) menu does not appear on dual-monitor setup when dock is active on all screens
Public bug reported: I have a dual monitor setup, primary monitor on the left, secondary monitor on the right, exactly lined up, on Wayland, Intel graphics drivers, Ubuntu 21.10 (but issue was already present in 21.04) I have Ubuntu Dock enabled on all monitors, on the left side of the screen (which is default) and symbol size 28 (but this size does not seem to matter). Independent from the running program, when I try to bring up the context (right click) menu close to the right side of the left screen, the context menu will not show up. I disabled the "dock on all monitors" and _then_ the context menu will show up, but weirdly on the right monitor stuck to the left side of the screen - even if the context menu gladly will right-align when not too close to the border of the screen. Now the dock and the weird context menu behaviour seem to overlap somehow and the context menu will not show up at all. Sounds similar to this: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/1783 and while searching I found this: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1930567 which sounds very similar or might be even the same. [Bug 1947558] Re: rfkill fails to turn on wifi card on Dell Latitude 5490
Note : it might be a problem in the ilwifi driver. I am not sure. [Bug 1947561] [NEW] wifi card goes into hardware disable on resume on Dell Latitude 5490
Public bug reported: Dell Latitude 5490 DMI: Dell Inc. Latitude 5490/0FDHF4, BIOS 1.18.0 09/10/2021 When machine goes into sleep, rfkill turns off the wifi card Then machine goes to sleep. When resumed, the wifi no longer works, Gnome reports "no wifi card" Trying to use rfkill to bring the card back does not work Trying to use the button on keyboard to turn off then on the wifi card does not work either Rebooting does not fix the issue : card is no longer working and set to "hardware disabled" The only solution is to turn OFF the machine, then ON again. I have opened a bug report on rf-kill there : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/util-linux/+bug/1947558 But the more I look into it the more it seems that it could be a problem in the ilwifi module. The card is turned off physically properly by rf-kill but trying to turn it back on fails So it seems that the ilwifi is unabled to bring the wifi card out of the hardware lock/off for this laptop model on Linux. [Bug 1947552] [NEW] Idle tcp connections
Public bug reported: Description:Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS Release:20.04 unbound/focal,focal-updates,focal-security,now 1.9.4-2ubuntu1.2 amd64 [installed] Hello, We have an issue with unbound package. In some case of usage we have a certain number of idle tcp-sessions wich blocks any new tcp sessions to this server. 1. One of our users initiate a wild number of tcp sessions and stops 30 min later. 2. Thoses sessions max out the `thread0.tcpusage` accordingly to our setting `incoming-num-tcp:` 3. No more TCP cnx are possible. UDP still responding 4. We log the established tcp sessions with an `lsof -i :53` 5. *12 hours later* the *same* TCP sessions are still ESTABLISHED (same client ports same host) 6. A tcpdump on this interface show no tcp packet at all for more than 15min ... but `net.ipv4.tcp_keepalive_time = 7200` or tcp-idle-timeout (actually 30 sec) should have kicked. 7. Still no more TCP cnx are possible A restart of this service resolves the bug. This bug is hard to reproduce and we didn't find the client/usage which works all times nor we have more information on our client real infra/clients/libraries. But in the right conditions, it can append a lot. But we think we are not the only one experiencing this find of bug : This is the same as 2 bugs reported on the unbound mailing list : * https://lists.nlnetlabs.nl/pipermail/unbound-users/2019-August/006361.html * https://lists.nlnetlabs.nl/pipermail/unbound-users/2019-October/006487.html And this seems to be fixed by this MR on the next version of unbound : On Unbound 1.9.6 Changelog ( https://www.nlnetlabs.nl/projects/unbound/download/#unbound-1-9-6 ) : ``` Merge pull request #122 from he32: In tcp_callback_writer(), don't disable time-out when changing to read. ``` Refering to : https://github.com/NLnetLabs/unbound/pull/122 This MR/Fix is quite simple, so I'm asking if we can cherry pick this fix on this version of unbound to avoid a potential DoS on this service and fix that issue Thanks in advance :) ** Affects: unbound (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1947552 Title: Idle tcp connections To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unbound/+bug/1947552/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
