[Bug 1970408] [NEW] brltty package disconnecting ttyUSB0 used for Arduino

[Bug 1951832] Re: xl2tpd "Can not find tunnel" in jammy
More of a meta comment : If Ubuntu wishes to be taken seriously as a professional workstation OS (as I'm sure it will do, with an impending IPO next year), issues blocking VPN connectivity - especially to the Usual Suspect endpoints like L2TP (which will cover anyone using e.g. Azure for their corporate VPN) - need to be considered far more important. This issue was reported four months ago and will block Azure VPN connections from 22.04 until it's fixed (in the absence of workarounds), which means that many users would be unable to do their job, but has yet to be marked with an importance other than "Undecided". As an engineer who believes strongly that Linux has a place among his co-workers, it gets increasingly hard to justify this to operations when their compliance requirements (like connecting to VPNs) cannot be met out of the box. L2TP is, yes, a Microsoft thing. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't be taking it seriously - quite the opposite, as that means it forms a substantial minority of VPN endpoints out there. Hackarounds like manually installing old package versions or alternative VPN clients [1] do not inspire confidence. I know that the maintainers are absolutely doing their best within the constraints they are operating in, this comment is more directed at Canonical, in the hope that they can understand this is a part of the distro that needs to be tested and supported more rigorously. [Bug 1970270] Re: LibreOffice localization is not working out of the box
Looks like you found it. Ubuntu 22.04 desktop-default-languages points to a number of other seed files (or at least I think they're seed files) such as "desktop-de" and the like. In the Languages folder of https://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu- archive/seeds/ubuntu.jammy/languages/desktop-de, there's quite a bit of LibreOffice related stuff, including the l10n package. On the other hand, doing a search for "l10n" in https://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/seeds/lubuntu.jammy/desktop only shows up qttranslations5-l10n. So if I'm understanding correctly, we're only providing localization for QT5 applications. Even if we make the seeds install other common languages, any languages we don't include still won't work, so we may need a deeper fix than just adding some packages to the seeds. According to Bug #1520278, ubiquity on Ubuntu < 16.04 was able to install languages on demand, so I'm wondering if calamares provides any similar feature. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1970270 Title: LibreOffice localization is not working out of the box To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lubuntu-meta/+bug/1970270/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1970392] [NEW] 22.04 USB devices do not work after sleep on Dell XPS 13 9370
Public bug reported: I have a Dell XPS 13 9370 that came with Ubuntu preinstalled. I have just completed a fresh install of 22.04 on it. When I suspend the laptop, the USB devices that were plugged in when I suspended do not work. Specifically, I had an Ethernet adapter and a USB-C monitor with a keyboard attached through it. The monitor display works as expected, but neither the keyboard nor the Ethernet adapter work after suspending. Interestingly, I can move the Ethernet adapter to the remaining USB-C port and it works correctly. Moving it back afterwards, it still does not work. [Bug 1970389] [NEW] [nvidia] Janky text entry in some applications in a GNOME / Wayland session
Public bug reported: When writing into text fields in some applications (Firefox, VS Code) on Jammy in a GNOME / Wayland session, I can see an effect best described as the glyphs appearing / disappearing sometimes repeatedly. I have attached a recording from my phone (since attempting to record a screencast fails). This doesn't happen always, and it appear somehow sensitive to some environmental condition (load?) since for example when I'm on a video call, the effect seems to not be happening so often. I have also experienced a few instances of a currently not-focused window disappearing (seeing through to a window that is below that window), but cannot reproduce that reliably. I have the NVIDIA driver 510 in use, RTX3090-only 16-core Zen1 Threadripper system with no integrated GPU. No similar effects visible when in a GNOME / Xorg session. [Bug 1970107] Re: [nouveau] Xorg crash / Graphics Issue
When you are returned to the login screen, does Ctrl+Alt+F2 fix it? If not then: Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => mutter (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1970107 Title: [nouveau] Xorg crash / Graphics Issue To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1970107/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1970076] Re: "User process fault: interruption code 0011 ilc:3" on SSH client/server upon Jammy upgrade
Hi, for comparison on another system I've taken a Host (was impish before upgrade) and created guests with Xenial, Bionic, Focal, Jammy. All worked fine at this stage - ssh login and health of guests/hosts was good. Then I upgraded the Host to Jammy (as the reporter did). Example of the simple tests made: #log into jammy, from there log into focal ssh -t ubuntu@192.168.122.177 "ssh ubuntu@192.168.122.39" #log into focal, from there log into jammy ssh -t ubuntu@192.168.122.39 "ssh ubuntu@192.168.122.177" => That was all fine initially (impish) => That was all still fine after the upgrade to jammy => And it was still fine after restarting the guests (to use the new qemu) So it can't be reproduced easily, this would need to go into analyzing the ssh crash dump file that is attached. @Ryan - if you have any further insight on how/why your config might be special let us know. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1970076 Title: "User process fault: interruption code 0011 ilc:3" on SSH client/server upon Jammy upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/1970076/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
