[Bug 1973397] [NEW] Ubuntu 22.04: Display manager resets when trying to change it using gear icon in login window

2022-05-14 Thread Gaber Terseglav
Public bug reported:

I would like to select wayland display manager on login screen. But when
I click on the gear icon in login screen, screen resets to terminal view
for a few seconds and black login screen is displayed. There is no more
gear icon, I enter login info and can log into the session. But the
activated display manager is X.org.

Must I wait for some fixes, in order to be able to list different
display managers in login window (the rest on gear icon is normal), or
can I configure the system somehow in order to enable change of display
managers?

less /etc/gdm3/custom.conf
...
[daemon]
# Uncomment the line below to force the login screen to use Xorg
#WaylandEnable=false
WaylandEnable=true
...

echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
x11

[Bug 1973386] Re: 22.04 Jammy: Lockscreen (but not login) on-screen keyboard touch keys do not work

2022-05-14 Thread Matthias Röckelein
Experiencing that issue on a Surface Go 1 tablet running vanilla Ubuntu
22.04 (no custom kernel, other customizations). I can also replicate the
behavior on my Desktop PC with mouse input for the on screen keyboard,
so it's not touch dependent.

Re: [Bug 1973101] Re: After upgrade to 22.04 NFS exports for vers 2 and 3 no longer work

2022-05-14 Thread Robert Dinse
Thank  you very much.  The disabling of udp by default is what
broke version 2 and version 3, and since TCP were not part of the NFS
specification for either of these versions, making it the default makes
ZERO sense.

[Bug 1973394] [NEW] Can't find integrated camera in Ubuntu 22.04 on Lenovo

2022-05-14 Thread Wayne Elfo
Public bug reported:

Dual boot, Win 10 & Ubuntu 22.04.
Camera works on Win but not discoverable on Ubuntu 22.04
Never any image or video in cheese
F6 does not turn it on in Cheese.
Used synaptic, nothing broken.
Checked for driver, nothing available.

Boot from USB (ie install iso) Cheese does not work in "try Ubuntu"
mode, ie cheese cannot find camera.

I have tried other programs that use the camera & none work.
Looks like a driver is missing to me but I can't find one to add.

I know the camera is there & working in Windows.
Something is missing for it to work in Ubuntu 22.04

1)Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
2)Cheese
3)expected camera to open
4)Message "there was an error playing video from the webcam"

** Affects: ubuntu
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
