[Bug 1842320] Re: Out of Memory on boot with 5.2.0 kernel

2022-05-30 Thread jeremyszu
the problem seems to me that memory allocation issue with higher
resolution monitor.

When issue happening, the grub shell not able to read some files
(depends on current memory usage).

For instance, I create 20M, 30M, 40M, 50M ... 80M, 90M, 100M, 101M, 102M
... 110M, 120M, 130M, etc... files and try to read them in grub shell.

The "ls -al" only list the part of files.

sometimes:
"20M, 30M, 40M, 50M ... 80M, 90M, 100M, 101M, 102M"
sometimes:
"20M, 30M, 40M, 50M ... 80M, 90M"
sometimes:
"20M, 30M, 40M, 50M ... 80M"

when force "ls -al test-130M", it will show "out-of-memory"

it looks to me that depends the current memory usage.

Based on my test, this issue is likely relate to EFI or grub (or
initramfs config) instead of kernel.

For the people be blocked by this issue, the best practice should change
the initramfs compression method to reduce the file size as what ybdjkfd
shared in comment#41.

[Bug 1976316] [NEW] pytorch: (autopkgtest) needs update for python3.10: 'float' object cannot be interpreted as an integer

2022-05-30 Thread Brian Murray
Public bug reported:

Version: 1.8.1-5
Severity: serious
Tags: sid bookworm
User: debian...@lists.debian.org

Dear maintainer(s),

We are in the transition of making python3.10 the default Python
versions [0]. With a recent upload of python3-defaults the autopkgtest
of pytorch fails in testing when that autopkgtest is run with the binary
packages of python3-defaults from unstable. It passes when run with only
packages from testing. In tabular form:

   passfail
python3-defaults from testing3.10.4-1
pytorchfrom testing1.8.1-5
all others from testingfrom testing

I copied some of the output at the bottom of this report.

Currently this regression is blocking the migration of python3-defaults
to testing [1]. https://docs.python.org/3/whatsnew/3.10.html lists
what's new in Python3.10, it may help to identify what needs to be updated.

message in your log file:

Feb 12 17:56:01 ubuntu ubiquity: The device contains 'zfs_member'

Hi, thanks for the response! I'm also not sure how this package works,
where is its source, where is the upstream, etc. However, as I said, on
Arch Linux `auto-servernum` is marked as deprecated. Googling `auto-
display` leads to some information (also on other distros):

[Bug 1975690] Re: kernel 5.13.0-41 and 5.13.0-44 do not boot

2022-05-30 Thread Michel Sauvard
I found the problem.
The culprit is the packet grub2-theme-mint. Last version 1.2.2
When I remove this packet grub initrd works fine with the new kernels.
Sorry for the misplaced bug report.

[Bug 874181] Re: brltty daemon prevents creation of ttyUSB0 device link

2022-05-30 Thread Akos Schneemaier
I just run into this issue after upgrading from 20.04. This is breaking
a lot of things for me. It seems that "apt remove brltty" resolved the
issue for now, but it should work out of the box as it used to.

[Bug 1970957] Re: suspend problem

2022-05-30 Thread Tobias
After upgrading from 20.04 to 22.04 I'm facing same issue on Thinkpad E480.
When I boot older kernel 5.13.0-41-generic it works as expected. Seems that
issue is related to newer kernel 5.15 or a ubuntu specific kernel patch.

[Bug 1971933] Re: [Regression] Unable to wake laptop using trackpad input

2022-05-30 Thread Aaron Rainbolt
I don't believe that my system ever was able to wake from the touchpad -
I seem to remember having to use the power button or open the lid in the
past. I thought maybe I just had something misconfigured back then, but
maybe not.

[Bug 1975690] Re: kernel 5.13.0-41 and 5.13.0-44 do not boot

2022-05-30 Thread Michel Sauvard
I could not give the faulty kernel because I could not boot!
But it is not a kernel problem because I can boot with SuperGrub.
So its some problem with grub or the config.
When entering grub commands manually grub freeze on the initrd command.

As I now can boot I attach apport-collect with the faulty kernel
