[Bug 1794980] [NEW] Outdated icons used on slides
Public bug reported: Affects: ubuntu 18.10; Package: ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu; Expectation: icons used in slideshow should match the icons used on the desktop; What happens: icons don't match or are inconsistent; ++ A minor bug, but some of the icons used in the Ubuntu slides that refer to software and/or features which are installed or available on Ubuntu do not match the 'new' Suru icon theme set. For example, the "music" slide shows the upstream Rhythmbox icon, and the "Photos" slide shows the upsream Shotwell icon. Neither icon appears on the default Ubuntu desktop, meaning a user who installs Ubuntu 18.10 for the first time will have a hard time trying to locate those apps by the icons shown in the slideshow. Similarly the "assistive technologies", "languages" and "appearance" icons are affected, while the Firefox icon and LibreOffice icons shown on the "browse" slide are outdated as both upstreams now have 'newer' icons. ** Affects: ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: cosmic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1794980 Title: Outdated icons used on slides To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu/+bug/1794980/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1742502] [NEW] 108 and 109 kernel hangs
Public bug reported: Overnight I had 2 of 12 16.04 servers brick with the 108 kernel. They also do not work with 109. They work fine with 104. The other 10 worked fine on both 108 and 109. [Bug 1132063] Re: Mouse settings missing from Mouse & Touchpad dialog
For me, I'm using a Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000, and no workarounds were working. lxinput and xset both did nothing, however I did manage to get xinput to work. I got the id of my mouse from here: $> xinput --list ⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2[master pointer (3)] ⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointerid=4[slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ Microsoft Microsoft® Nano Transceiver v2.0id=13 [slave pointer (2)] <- I picked this one ⎜ ↳ Microsoft Microsoft® Nano Transceiver v2.0id=14 [slave pointer (2)] ⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3[master keyboard (2)] ↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5[slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Power Button id=6[slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Power Button id=7[slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Sleep Button id=8[slave keyboard (3)] ↳ HD Webcam C615id=9[slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Apple, Inc Apple Keyboard id=10 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Apple, Inc Apple Keyboard id=11 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Microsoft Microsoft® Nano Transceiver v2.0id=12 [slave keyboard (3)] I picked 13, since there were multiple id's with the same name, and listed the properties: $> xinput list-props 13 Device 'Microsoft Microsoft® Nano Transceiver v2.0': Device Enabled (152): 1 Coordinate Transformation Matrix (154): 1.00, 0.00, 0.00, 0.00, 1.00, 0.00, 0.00, 0.00, 1.00 Device Product ID (269):1118, 1861 Device Node (270): "/dev/input/event6" Evdev Axis Inversion (285): 0, 0 Evdev Axes Swap (287): 0 Axis Labels (288): "Rel X" (162), "Rel Y" (163), "Rel Horiz Wheel" (277), "Rel Dial" (278), "Rel Vert Wheel" (279), "Rel Misc" (280) Button Labels (289):"Button Left" (155), "Button Middle" (156), "Button Right" (157), "Button Wheel Up" (158), "Button Wheel Down" (159), "Button Horiz Wheel Left" (160), "Button Horiz Wheel Right" (161), "Button Side" (275), "Button Extra" (276), "Button Unknown" (273), "Button Unknown" (273), "Button Unknown" (273), "Button Unknown" (273) Evdev Scrolling Distance (290): 1, 1, 1 Evdev Middle Button Emulation (291):0 Evdev Middle Button Timeout (292): 50 Evdev Third Button Emulation (293): 0 Evdev Third Button Emulation Timeout (294): 1000 Evdev Third Button Emulation Button (295): 3 Evdev Third Button Emulation Threshold (296): 20 Evdev Wheel Emulation (297):0 Evdev Wheel Emulation Axes (298): 0, 0, 4, 5 Evdev Wheel Emulation Inertia (299):10 Evdev Wheel Emulation Timeout (300):200 Evdev Wheel Emulation Button (301): 4 Evdev Drag Lock Buttons (302): 0 Notice how there is no mention of "Mouse Acceleration" or any such thing. I just multiplied the first 2 "1.000"'s by the same number (which I guess are X and Y speed) and now my mouse has a good speed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1132063 Title: Mouse settings missing from Mouse & Touchpad dialog To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1132063/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1434556] Re: tls in ubuntu-push client doesn't support certs with 384/512 signatures...
fwiw, we've had to stop issuing SHA-512 certs for fear that it will affect users. We do have some 512s that are out there yet. I'd like to resume issuing 512s instead of 256 as soon as you believe the fix has been populated out to the user base. At that time we'll start to re- issue our 256s as 512s when they expire. Our normal process is to choose a security stance that allows for the widest amount of access using protocols that are still considered secure. In this specific case, the algorithms to support 512 are (usually) part of the 256 set but yet provide a slightly better security posture and have slightly better hashing performance over 256. SHA-2 has been out since 2001 and I believe it's penetration is sufficient at this point for us to legitimately use it without any ill effects. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1434556 Title: tls in ubuntu-push client doesn't support certs with 384/512 signatures... [Bug 1396338] Re: [Dell Latitude E7440] Wifi keeps dropping with Intel Wireless 7260
FYI, I seem to have this problem with my Dell XPS 13 (2014 Ubuntu Developer's Edition). This also has the Intel wifi chipset (Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless AC 7260, REV=0x144). I had the same error messages and very similar overall behavior. [Bug 1391555] [NEW] Bluetooth mouse battery reported as "Extra" battery
Public bug reported: In several places, the battery status for my Logitech M557 Bluetooth mouse is being incorrectly reported as a generic battery or laptop battery. This shows up in two places related to gnome-power-manager. In the System Settings/Power screen, under the heading "Batteries" there are two bars, one for "Main" and one for "Extra." The "Main" corresponds to the laptop battery and the "Extra" corresponds to the mouse battery. I expected to see a separate entry for the mouse, or at least a more descriptive label than "Extra." In the gnome-power-statistics interface, the mouse battery appears as "Laptop battery" with a model "Bluetooth Mouse M557." It should appear as a "Mouse battery: or "Bluetooth Mouse battery" or something similar. I am not certain that this is the appropriate package for the bug report because I do not know which is responsible for the initial error or whether it is an independent error in several packages. If I am in the wrong place, I would appreciate help routing this to the correct place. This (or a similar) bug also shows up in indicator-power. Let me know if I should post a bug separately for that package---I am holding off because it seems possible that is a knock-on effect of the problem here and I don't want to spam the bug reports.
