[Bug 980510] Re: Downloaded files don't show up in recent files if the folder is synchronized in Ubuntu One

[Bug 1064916] Re: Excluded directory shown in recent files when accessed
I think I understood what happens. In the blacklist plugin of zeitgeist, everytime a URL is being logged, we need to check if it is a symlink. If it is a symlink, then try to resolve it. As of r84, I have managed to get the list of all the scopes under XDG_DATA_DIRS/unity/scopes There are a few confusion. e.g. I have /usr/share/unity/scopes/graphics.scope which does not have an icon because it is a category scope for /usr/share/unity/scopes/graphics/deviantart.scope and this latter one has an icon. [Bug 1155968] Re: Upgrade zeitgeist to 0.9.14
I have been using zeitgeist engine (zeitgeist-core) built against libzeitgeist1 with applications built against libzeitgeist1. It is working because all the communication happens over dbus. Any changes which took place was at library level. DBus API remained nearly the same, but the programmer facing abstraction of API was vastly improved. Theoretically, the apps built against libzeitgeist1 do not need to be rebuilt to work against zeitgeist-core built using libzeitgeist2 I would be sooner working on moving everything to libzeitgeist2 libfolks-telepathy25 has been patched upstream to use libzeitgeist2 IIRC. [Bug 986898] Re: Icons "Privacy" and "Backup" are swapped in System Settings
Actually the standalone activity-log-manager is not meant for Ubuntu in the first place. Ubuntu is supposed to use activity-log-manager-panel, whereas the former is meant for non-Ubuntu which don't allow additional panels in System Settings and in non-elementary OS which don't have switchboard. The standalone should just be called "Privacy Manager" ALM doesn't really brand itself because it it supposed to play along with the OS. zeitgeist/alm is pretty much useless if they have to work separately. [Bug 1017710] Re: A directory set not to record in Privacy Settings is still shown in the Unity Files Dash
Vincent, the method you explained is not a bug because the folder was blacklisted after the file was moved. When the file was moved, then zeitgeist did now know that this folder has to be excluded. Now if the steps I mentioned above still shows test in lens, then it is indeed a bug in zeitgeist/activity-log-manager. If by following steps I mentioned above, the file does not show up, then it means that unity-file-lens is showing the files which have been logged even before blacklist was added. In that case, you would have to open a bug against unity file lens -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1017710 Title: A directory set not to record in Privacy Settings is still shown in the Unity Files Dash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/activity-log-manager/+bug/1017710/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Can you try these steps 1. Create a file in the Downloads folder (let's say it's called "test") 2. Open the files lens and search for that file. Note that it is listed (under the heading Downloads). 3. Create a folder in the Downloads folder (let's say it's called "hidden"). 4. Open Privacy settings. 5. Click the tab Files. 6. Add "hidden" to the list titled "Don't record activity in the following folders". 7. Close Privacy settings. 8. Move "test" into "hidden". 9. Open the files lens and search for "test".
