[Bug 134074] Re: Text based install writes files +GMT offset

2007-10-24 Thread 마잇
How about this method for time setting problem.

When Install, read BIOS time and show that to user.

Ask, Is this correct time to you ?

When yes, set UTC=no in /etc/default/rcS

When no, set UTC=yes.

I live on GMT+9 then had problem like this,
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fontconfig/+bug/104553

As I remember Ubuntu installer didn't ask UTC or localtime.

When user do dual boot with other os like windows, this problem can
occur more complex problem.

[Bug 59695] Re: default value in power.sh potentially kills laptop disks

2007-10-24 Thread 마잇
It's not 'wishlist', just 'critical issue'.

I've had same problem, and now solved with martin's tweak.

Quote,

As a temporary fix I edited /etc/hdparm.conf and added:

/dev/sda {
  apm = 255
  spindown_time = 0
}

Afterwards I installed the hdparm init script by doing 'sudo update-rc.d
hdparm defaults' to make the changes consistent over reboots.

Thnks, martin.

So sorry, 'M' was typo. It's 'B'

Check this bug report,

Maybe this problem seems not direct relate with kernel. It seems acpi-
support package control this issue.

[Bug 153915] Re: Sometimes can't rename files in nautilus

2007-10-19 Thread 마잇
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 66104 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/66104

Same problem here. When Korean users select default language to korean
in language-selector, input method environments were set like this.

Quote in `im-switch -l`

The system wide default is pointed by "/etc/alternatives/xinput-ko_KR" .
xinput-ko_KR - status is auto.
 link currently points to scim
scim - priority 50
scim-immodule - priority 0
scim-hangul - priority 45
scim-hangul_xim - priority 40
nabi - priority 50
Current `best' version is scim.

$ cat /etc/alternatives/xinput-ko_KR
#
# Use "X input Method" for all applications
#
# Per Ming's Documentation in SCIM, XIM Input Method is activated
# not only for old X-applications but also for GTK and QT appplication.
#
# If a user wish to use, GTK Input Method, (s)he can right-click input
# area and select "Input Methods" and change from "X input Method" to
# "SCIM Input Method".
#

XIM=SCIM
XIM_PROGRAM=/usr/bin/scim
XIM_ARGS="-d"
GTK_IM_MODULE=xim
QT_IM_MODULE=xim
DEPENDS="scim,scim-anthy|scim-canna|scim-chewing|scim-pinyin|scim-hangle|scim-prime|scim-skk|scim-tables-additional|scim-m17n|scim-uim|scim-tables-ja|scim-tables-ko|scim-tables-zh"

As we can see, default input module for gtk(nautilus) is xim. And
current problem occur only when using xim input module.

workaround,
1. change input module in input field(right click) to scim
2. change input module through im-switch permanantly. For Korean, choose
'scim-hangul' instead of 'scim'(default)
$ im-switch -s scim-hangul

I confirmed this bug when using xim input module for GTK_IM_MOUDLE.
