[Bug 367822] Re: resume (after suspend) broken on ASUS W3V - Jaunty
I think the graphics driver may be part of the problem, but it seems odd that I am not able to shutdown the computer with ctrl-alt-del. If the keyboard was still working as you hint at, shouldn't I able to do that? Also, my Intel X40 has a intel graphics chip (Intel Extreme Graphics 2 ). -- resume (after suspend) broken on ASUS W3V - Jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367822 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 367822] Re: resume (after suspend) broken on ASUS W3V - Jaunty
This also happens on the Thinkpad X40. Fresh install of 9.04. The same problem:A suspend to RAM appears to work fine, but it cannot resume. The status lights change, as if the machine was awake. The wireless indicator even blinks. But the screen is completely blank, it doesn't even look like the backlight is on. I then did an update on the installed packages. Same behavior. Doing a hibernation works, and resume from hibernation works fine too. -- resume (after suspend) broken on ASUS W3V - Jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367822 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 64070] Re: suspend/resume porblems with centrino duo
Hi, On a clean install of Hardy Heron Alpha 5, upgraded to Alpha 6 with the newest kernel in the repository -- this problem still exists. After resume (from standby to RAM), the govenor is set to performance causing the cpu frequency to stay at the maximum. I believe this bug ("The suspend scripts do not restore the cpufreq governor on resume.") is the same as this other bug from 2006: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/64070 -- CPU Frequency Scaling Monitor applet on dual-core doesn't work after resume https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/124797 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 194710] [NEW] update-grub stalls at user input
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: grub After a clean install of 8.04 x86 Alpha 5 (without bootloader), I installed the grub package. When I run "sudo update-grub", I get the following output: Searching for GRUB installation directory ... found: /boot/grub Searching for default file ... found: /boot/grub/default Testing for an existing GRUB menu.lst file ... Could not find /boot/grub/menu.lst file. Would you like /boot/grub/menu.lst generated for you? (y/N) The script stalls at this point. No matter what I type, the script just stalls there. Looking at the script, the problem area is here: echo -n "Would you like $menu_file generated for you? " >&2 echo -n "(y/N) " >&2 read answer I created a short script to reproduce the problem, and it seems that the problem stems from: . /usr/share/debconf/confmodule Here's the sample script that reproduces the stalling: #!/bin/bash . /usr/share/debconf/confmodule read answer echo $answer I don't know why confmodule is causing this. The workaround is invoke update-grub with "-y". ** Affects: grub (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Status: Fix Released -- update-grub stalls at user input https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194710 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 122208] Re: Mouse sensitivity & acceleration settings reversed
I believe these labels are simply wrong / misleading. Under Windows there are two options called speed and acceleration. Speed dictates the linear relationship between movement of mouse and cursor speed. Acceleration makes the relationship non-linear. So rather than cursor speed = mouse movement * , you have something like cursor speed = mouse movement* + mouse movement^ However, the mouse preferences under Ubuntu correspond to something different. If you look under gconf, theses two settings adjust "motion_threshold" and "motion_acceleration". Motion acceleration is really speed, and Motion threshold is meant to disregard small movements. Therefore, it seems that the two fields in the mouse properties window should be "speed" (replace "acceleration") and sensitivity (keep the same). I'm using 8.04 Alpha 5. -- Mouse sensitivity & acceleration settings reversed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/122208 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
