[Bug 1557172] Re: khubd/usbhid deadlock(?) creates processes in state D

2017-01-10 Thread Aakash Roy
Mike: I did read that from the original post. Just that preventing the
iDRAC from working would prevent remote access to the terminal which is
sometimes required at our end - typically contingencies when there is
some issue with network, we use the iDRAC for remote access.

Unlike your situation, this bug affects all our servers with iDRAC (R410
& R610) running Ubuntu 14.05.1.

Can you help me with the command which can be run if iDRAC access is
required? I know this might create the hung process again but for us we
use iDRAC in contingency scenarios only & would not mind restarting once
things are restored.

[Bug 1555418] Re: Wifi Stops Working After Suspend

2016-03-09 Thread Aakash Dabas
One more thing after using logging in again, wifi network manager
doesn't responds and rfkill event shows following output on pressing the
wifi hardware key,

 idx 2 type 1 op 0 soft 0 hard 1
 idx 2 type 1 op 0 soft 1 hard 1
 idx 2 type 1 op 0 soft 0 hard 1

it changes the software lock but not the hardware lock. After restarting
the ubuntu everything again starts functioning properly.

[Bug 1555418] [NEW] Wifi Stops Working After Suspend

2016-03-09 Thread Aakash Dabas
Public bug reported:

My wifi works before suspending the ubuntu but right after I login after
suspension wifi doesn't works. It always displays hard blocked but the thing is
that the hardware key doesn't works here. The possible solution is to restart.
I've also tried following commands:
nmcli nm wifi on (NO EFFECT)
service network-manager restart (NO EFFECT)
rfkill ublock all (NO EFFECT)
I've also updated my ubuntu to latest and also updated the drivers. But non of
them works.
I've also contacted my network driver providers. They are saying that this is a
problem with the kernel and not with the driver.

[Bug 1501986] Re: Wifi signals are unstable and drops after sometime in RTL8723BE

2015-10-07 Thread Aakash Dabas
Sir now I've upgraded my ubuntu pc to the latest mainline kernel but sad to
still there is no significance improvement in the wifi performance. Also,
watching over the Link Quality using command "iwconfig", the link quality never
crosses the limit 46/70 even if I'm setting next to the modem whereas in
windows it shows maximum wifi signals.

Moreover sir wifi signal Link Quality constantly varies between 23/70 to
35/70 and that's even when I'm not moving a bit from the location.

I've already installed the latest version of mainline kernel available
at the date. But the issue ain't changes too much. The wifi still gets
low signals and still disconnects occasionally.

[Bug 1501986] [NEW] Wifi signals are unstable and drops after sometime in RTL8723BE

2015-10-01 Thread Aakash Dabas
Public bug reported:

I'm using ubuntu 14.04 on my new laptop from HP( HP pavillion
15-ab032tx). It has got a network card from realtek which seems to be
really buggy as of now. When I'm connected to a network either the wifi
signals are damn low or they just vanish. And at the same time my other
devices captures full wifi signals. Moreover the wifi just ain't works
after suspend. Also I've tried updating the drivers. The current version
of network driver is : rtl8723be. My kernel version is
:3.13.0-65-generic. But nothing changes. Please help me out. Also I'm
not so experienced with ubuntu so kindly tell me everything in details
so that I can follow the commands. Thanks in advance.

I've just updated my bios to the latest version available for my laptop.
The version released today(1 oct 2015). And installation was proper. But
that doesn't affects the wifi problem slightest.

How many different Window managers do you have running and which styles
do you have enabled (KDE, GNOME, etc) and/or compiz?

They could be interacting/counteracting each other.
