[Bug 1388647] Re: DRI_PRIME=1 has no effect in Ubuntu 14.10

2015-03-07 Thread ABOUBAKR SEDDIK OUAHABI
Well, I found that it's an issue with setting the right Paths for the
right installed NVIDIA driver, in my case GT540M 2GB. (Ubuntu 14.10)

It was poiting to nvidia-current, while I have the latest installed by
default for some reason which is way greater than the current, and I've
found also that optimus was set to use Nouveau instead, hence I changed
that to nvidia, and set the right paths and everything's working great
including EditShare Lightworks and The Foundry Nuke Studio.

So check your config again.

Btw, I lost the confs after one Update and had to re-do it manually
again.

[Bug 1300722] Re: hud-service is eating up 100% of one of my CPUs in a poll loop

2014-07-27 Thread ABOUBAKR SEDDIK OUAHABI
It's been happening on my laptop since 13.04, and the reason was and
still is (on 14.04) opening Nautilus on a Folder that contains either
Photos and/or Videos, and once the Thumbnails are shown, then my i7 CPU
feels like it's burning, really burning and the fan wants to fly, the
hud-service goes crazy consuming both the CPU resources and the memory,
which goes up to 1.7GB in no time. Surely it's a memory leak sort of
thing.
