[Bug 1902649] [NEW] Unable to upgrade to 20.04.1 from 18.04.5
Public bug reported: Description:Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS Release:18.04 I ran sudo do-release upgrade and expected to upgrade from 18.04 to 20.04. But this happened: Could not calculate the upgrade An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade. This was likely caused by: * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu Please use the tool 'ppa-purge' from the ppa-purge package to remove software from a Launchpad PPA and try the upgrade again. If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal. If you want to investigate this yourself the log files in '/var/log/dist-upgrade' will contain details about the upgrade. Specifically, look at 'main.log' and 'apt.log'. I have looked at main.log and apt.log and removed some PPAs but it is still failing and I am unable to figure out why. [Bug 1284196] Re: Install to 3TB disk fails with "attempt to read or write outside of disk" error on reboot
I was hit by this bug too when installing Zentyal server 5.0 (based on Ubuntu Server 16.04 with Ubiquity) [1] on a Dell Poweredge R530 with a 4Tb Raid 5 hard disk. If I chose guided partitioning, Ubiquity created 3 partitions, 1 Mb bios_boot partition, ~ 4 Tb root partition, and 16 Gb Swap partition. With above partitioning and booting in BIOS mode, I got "Error: attempt to read or write outside of disk `hd0'.". While reinstalling I added a 2Gb /boot partition before the root (/) partition, it worked and was able to boot into the installed system. TL;DR: Grub failed on 4Tb / partition *in BIOS mode*, worked when a /boot partition was created. [Bug 1511414] Re: PHP-FPM incorrectly defines the SCRIPT_NAME variable when using Apache
Another problem that could be fixed by updating PHP: With apache-2.4.10 (available in trusty-backports), a new method was introduced to pass files via proxy from apache to php-fpm, which solved some issues with using ProxyPassMatch available earlier. However it does not work with php-5.5.9 available in trusty and was fixed in php-5.5.17 https://github.com/php/php-src/pull/694 So I believe that PHP should be updated to 5.5.18+ in trusty-backports. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1511414 Title: PHP-FPM incorrectly defines the SCRIPT_NAME variable when using Apache To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/php/+bug/1511414/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 420077] Re: grub2 has no timer
I faced this issue on a karmic-server yesterday, upon rebooting after 4 months of uptime and around 2-3 kernel updates in the meantime. Apparently it was the recordfail as mentioned in the comments above and in this post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=8086168postcount=6 Something went wrong in the first reboot. I was able to ping the box by IP but not by mDNS hostname, and was unable to access it over SSH. [Bug 480564] Re: Loops trying to mount NTFS partition after failure
In my case, the failure to mount the ntfs partition was only because the mount point was missing. `service udev stop; sleep 2; service udev start` stopped the continuous logging in /var/log/syslog and /var/log/daemon.log, but I was able to re-trigger it by `mount -a`. Looking at /etc/fstab and checking which partitions weren't mounted, I was able to narrow it down to the ntfs partition. `mount /dev/sdaX /media/drv0` revealed that the target mount point directory was missing. Note: `service udev restart` didn't stop the log messages, so I had to run `service udev stop; sleep 2; service udev start` Looks like it's been fixed in Lucid. [Bug 359392] Re: [i965] X freezes starting on April 3rd
Had the same problem in Intrepid. Display didn't freeze that often, but considerably slowed down - right after I updated my box on April 4th.
