I've seen a report of the 6.9-rc5 kernel booting on the hardware. I have
also had issues with Fedora Rawhide and NixOS booting on the hardware so
I think it is an upstream issue with the kernel.

I'm able to recreate this issue as well. I also want to note that the
24.04 LTS Beta also does not boot with the "Try or Install" option in
GRUB but it does boot the ISO.

Here are the steps to recreate the issue:
The blank screen issue can be recreated very easily:

Power on system - NOT LIVE DISK.
It gets to the ubuntu login screen.
Do NOT login and stay at this screen until the screen goes blank.
try to wake screen and unable to.
only course of action here is to hard power off.

I just installed NVIDIA driver 346.47 from nvidia-346 and from 'prime-
select' query shows nvidia. Once I reboot with nvidia select I get a
lot of crash reports about plasmashell and krunner. If I switch back to
intel with 'prime-select intel' and reboot, everything is back to
normal. If anyone can point me to some logs so I can provide some
feedback do let me know :). This is my hardware:

When I install the NVIDIA packages from Driver Manager and reboot my
system does not load (I think it has to do with sddm not starting) I did
pick sddm from the list that include a option to use lightdm.

I got past this bug as it seems the partitioner has a problem making a
efi partition and/or formatting a partition into a efi partition. I
moved though it by using fdisk to format the fat32 into efi and then
going though the installer normally.

 The File System Queue is actually meant for use with double-clicked items in
 Nautilus or another file manager. It's just that Unity uses the same mechanism
 for playing music files.
