Yes I wasn't knowing which package should take care of this. Also I was thinking about replacing "Ubuntu" font like "Gnome Tweak Tool" do. Where here it with fontconfig it seems to me like 'font priority list', is it so? if yes, so the font mentioned here is just a fallback. because there other Arabic script fonts at the top of it. > After the changes > - > * When you install Urdu language support, you get both "Nafees Web > Naskh" and "Nafees Nastaleeq". yes > * The fontconfig file /etc/fonts/conf.avail/65-nonlatin.conf says > "Nafees Nastaleeq", so unlike before the font it states as the > default is available. Re: [Bug 1153188] Re: Urdu with better support: Default Fonts, Kbd Layout
I just tried to check the name in system, I have installed the new package from the ppa. I couldn't find a font with this name "Urdu Nastaliq Unicode", even using gnome-font-view for each font in both packages Nafees & PakType. I was thinking the its the name of the new included font NafeesNastaliq. Actually we were looking for NafeesNastaleeq.ttf , if fallback option available: NafeesWeb.ttf (Nafees Regular) will be good. (Please, Shabbir let us know if you would other way.) I am not familiar with fonts, but the new included font, NafeesNastaleeq.ttf file, does not have a name. As it seems in gnome-font-viewer. I couldn't find in the font list. Is it a problem in this font? One time I left my machine like that for more then 30 min . [Bug 141472] Re: Window titles are misaligned in RTL languanges
@Ddorda Yeah, you are right. I have check it in Ubuntu 9.10. Titles positioned correctly (compiz has no effect). [Bug 141472] Re: Window titles are misaligned in RTL languanges
It seems like GTK make affect on title positioning (make Direction as RTL, I don't know) when it detects an RTL text in the beginning; as in Text Boxes, text starts with RTL always aligned to right. This does not happen when title forced to be aligned to left. ** Attachment added: "rtl centered title tests" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/141472/+attachment/1653084/+files/compiz_emerald_rtl.zip -- Window titles are misaligned in RTL languanges https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/141472 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 341015] Re: update-manager crashed with TypeError in _get_last_apt_get_update_text()
I think this bug is coming from python/print function. As in Arabic,we have 6 plural forms. we used NOT to include the variable (%i for example) in 0th, 1st & 2nd forms. This is the correct language. I have check both c/printf and python/print. c/printf is more robust. c/printf accepts this: n=1; printf("One hour.", n); in other hand python/print rises an error: n=1 print "One hour." % n As a work around we could do some thing like "(%i) One hour.". [Bug 485726] Re: No shaping in PyFribidi
I have contacted fribidi & pyfribidi authors. the resume: - Ubuntu up to 9.10 includes fribidi 0.10.9 (fribidi0) which doesn't do Arabic shaping (only bidi). Pyfribidi up to 0.6.0 was build on this version. - fribidi 0.19.2 (fribidi2) which has Arabic shaping feature is not released yet officially. Ref: http://www.fribidi.org/ http://pyfribidi.sourceforge.net/ So this bug could be changed to Invalid or Wish-list? I don't know.
