[Bug 1078499] [NEW] Minidlna does not show up in software-center when searching for dlna

2012-11-13 Thread Adam Niedling
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 12.10 x64.
When I search for dlna in software-center I expect to find all solutions
related to dlna. Rygel and Plex do show up but Minidlna does not even thou the
letters dlna are both in its name and its description. What possible reason
is there for it not to show up?
There must be something wrong with the search implementation of software-center.

(Btw Minidlna does work for me and I could not make Rygel to work. One
more reason why it should be found more easily in software-center.)

[Bug 685321] Re: webgl doesn't work with chrome

2012-11-04 Thread Adam Niedling
madbiologist: Are you mass closing bugs like this? I don't think this is
the right protocol to do this:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Responses#Old_untouched_bugs

First you should test the bug yourself, in this case it's really easy.
Second if you can't reproduce it you should ask the original reporter or
the others affected by the bug to see if they can still reproduce it.

You can just go to http://get.webgl.org/ and see that webgl in fact
still does not work with Chromium. At least for me it doesn't even tho
it does with Firefox.

Hmmm, if it's officially not supported then I guess there is nothing we
can do. I have a Optimus dual-GPU configuration with Nouveau driver so
it's not a surprise that it doesn't work.

Maybe you are right and this bug should be closed and new ones should be
filed if someone has this problem with supported hardware. Even the

[Bug 1073868] [NEW] VLC can't connect to MiniDLNA server

2012-11-01 Thread Adam Niedling
Public bug reported:

I have MiniDLNA server on my router with OpenWRT firmware on it. I'm
running VLC on Ubuntu 12.10. When I try to connect to it with VLC I get
the following error message:

[0x7f57880011b8] idummy demux: command `nop'

After closing VLC:
[0x7f57b8715a78] upnp services discovery error: UPNP_E_INVALID_HANDLE when
trying the send() action with URL: http://192.168.1.1:8200/ctl/ContentDir

action
[0x7f57b8715a78] upnp services discovery error: UPNP_E_INVALID_HANDLE when
trying the send() action with URL: http://192.168.1.1:8200/ctl/ContentDir
[0x7f57b8715a78] upnp services discovery error: No response from browse() action

These messages repeat several times. My MiniDLNA server works fine with
my tablet and smart TV. I only have issue with VLC under both Linux and
Windows 7.

[Bug 1070253] [NEW] Ubuntu 12.10 keeps crashing with kernel 3.5 (not with 3.2)

2012-10-23 Thread Adam Niedling
Public bug reported:

After upgrading to Ubuntu 12.10 my system keeps crashing. The GUI
dissapears and I get to a terminal screen with these messages:

Oct 21 16:18:53 ultraviolence kernel: [ 6626.273022] CPU6: Package power limit
notification (total events = 9)
Oct 21 16:18:53 ultraviolence kernel: [ 6626.273024] CPU3: Package power limit
notification (total events = 9)
Oct 21 16:18:53 ultraviolence kernel: [ 6626.273026] CPU7: Package power limit
notification (total events = 9)
Oct 21 16:18:53 ultraviolence kernel: [ 6626.273028] CPU5: Package power limit
notification (total events = 9)

It is possible to change to another terminal with ctrl+alt+f1 and log in and do
stuff.
I'm attaching syslog and kern.log of a crashed session.

This issue does not happen if a I use kernel 3.2 that came with Ubuntu
12.04.

[Bug 1068662] Re: webapps are not working :(

2012-10-21 Thread Adam Niedling
I have the same issue after upgrading from 12.04 to 12.10. I use chromium as my
default browser.
I had to manually install unity-chromium-extension after the upgrade but the
webapps integration still does not work. I get no notification to create a
webapp icon in the launcher when I visit launchpad.net and when I start a
webapp chromium forgets all my previously opened webpages so I can't continue
on with my last session.

[Bug 1069310] [NEW] Chromium session gets lost after starting a webapp

2012-10-21 Thread Adam Niedling
Public bug reported:

I've just upgraded my computer from 12.04 to 12.10. I use chromium as my
default browser and I have it configured to restore my previous browsing
session when I start it up. (I get my previously opened websites back.)
When I start a Webapp in Ubuntu my session gets lost and I lose my previously
opened websites.

[Bug 1051354] [NEW] Ati HD 4330 + fglrx + HP x23LED screen = wrong resolution

2012-09-15 Thread Adam Niedling
Public bug reported:

I have a freshly installed Precise on an Acer 4810TG laptop that has an Ati
Mobility Radeon HD 4330 video card and an HP x23LED fullHD (1920*1080) screen.
The screen is connected to the laptop but it does not find the correct
resolution.
The resolutions that it can find can be seen in the Xorg log (Modeline):
https://launchpadlibrarian.net/116135375/XorgLog.txt
The screen works fine with another Ubuntu 12.04 box that has a different video
card (nVidia).

[Bug 1051354] Re: Ati HD 4330 + fglrx + HP x23LED screen = wrong resolution

2012-09-15 Thread Adam Niedling
I'm sorry, this is not a bug. There was a problem in my system. Looks
like both fglrx and fglrx-updates were installed somehow and it was
causing this issue. I removed both of them and reinstalled only fglrx
and now the resolution is fine.

[Bug 921123] Re: ath5k Atheros AR5007G/AR2417 Chip Connected to Router but No Internet

2012-09-15 Thread Adam Niedling
It turned out that it was the fault of my router. The wifi connection
was very hectic/bad with other devices too. Then I changed the router
wifi setting to 802.11g instead of n and now it's working fine. I have a
TP-link 1043ND router with OpenWRT backfire on it.

Since Unity-2D will be discontinued there is no point in keeping this
bug report open. Also in Unity (3D) there is no problem with this.
