[Bug 761065] Re: [Sandybridge] Spurious "*ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... blt ring idle" messages in dmesg when using compiz
I have the same issue here but I discovered that, if I run a 3D program like celestia, nexuiz or even a 3d screensaver like one with the wireframe ant, the problem vanishes with a -39 kernel. In a discussion with Chris Van Hoof today he tells me he thinks the new kernel just masks the error but, at least to the user's POV it actually solves it for the common applications the users run. I kept nexuiz running for more than 2 hours and haven't noticed a single freeze. I would like to ask the priority to be raised as this can affect many new systems. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Confirmed ** Tags added: kernel-bug -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/761065 Title: [Sandybridge] Spurious "*ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... blt ring idle" messages in dmesg when using compiz -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 198861] Re: There's no flag to enable hildon interface when building for lpia
The difference is the way configure.ac works. If I use the --enable-ume method, I explicitely say that I want that platform, the other way the same flag works for maemo and ume builds but it's more confusing for the one who looks at it for the first time so I'm switching to --enable-ume. The precious was a bad choice. -- There's no flag to enable hildon interface when building for lpia https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/198861 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 198861] Re: There's no flag to enable hildon interface when building for lpia
As I said, upstream support for maemo is very specific but we share many things so I could have used --enable-ume as well. [Bug 198861] Re: There's no flag to enable hildon interface when building for lpia
Thanks for the review. I totally agree with your point 2 but right now I don't believe we have the time to do it so, I would like to sugest we split the difference by fixing 1, 3 and 5 for now and leave 2 and 3 (which is a bit of an ugly hack I admit) for a next release. About the IFDEFs (which are connected to the item 2 as well), the problem is that the upstream support for maemo is very specific and things we don't support like GTK's tap-and-hold and osso_uri have to be disabled when building it for UME. This item can be addressed later when some further granilarity will be added. For now I believe is good enough in terms of funcitionality and speed as one can't beat "done". -- There's no flag to enable hildon interface when building for lpia https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/198861 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 194848] [NEW] hardy alpha 5 closes session after choose keyboard
Public bug reported: Tested on a G1 notebook and Mac Mini, both dual core 2, 2G and 1G of ram, the rest about the same hardware. Using the Hardy Alpha 5 AMD64 desktop disk, if one try to install with any other language but English, if another keyboard layout is choosen or if one continues with the default layout, the session crashes and the user returns to GDM. [Bug 194848] Re: hardy alpha 5 closes session after choose keyboard
Hi Colin. I tried again and when the crash happens, if I switch to a console, my monitor goes blank and I can't get back. Try this way: at the first moment after the boot choose brazilian portuguese, boot normally and start the instalation but when you hit the keyboard part, choose USA. Here it crashes every time. I can't perform any more tests today, I will try to ssh to the box before start the instaltion to get the logs during the weekend. -- hardy alpha 5 closes session after choose keyboard https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194848 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 183311] Kernel oops when pairing via bluetooth with cellphone
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-3-generic Notebook Asus G1 running Hardy Alpha 3, kernel 2.6.24-3-generic. Bluetooth module don't report any errors but when trying to pair with a Motorolla cell phone, the whole process goes well until the message that the pairing was done shows up. At this moment the notebook freezes completely, there's no indication of what the oops is related to. No traces on the logs and even ssh to the box to try to catch something is useless, the system completely freezes becoming irresponsive even to SysRq. The only indication of a kernel oops is the Caps and Scroll leds flashing. The same pairing procedure worked flawlessly with Gutsy. [Bug 181512] asus-laptop display switching no longer works on Hardy
Public bug reported: In an Asus G1 notebook with nvidia Go 7700, to switch to external monitors one need the asus-laptop module instead of the default asus_acpi. Once it's running, an echo 8 > /sys/devices/platform/asus-laptop/display switches to DVI port and echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/asus-laptop/display switches back to the LCD. The asus-laptop module documentation shows all the possible combinations. Up to Gutsy this procedure worked nicelly, after update to Hardy Alpha 2 (kernel 2.6.24-3-generic) it stopped working. I wasn't able to find any logs that might explain what's happening.
