[Bug 290019] Re: Laptop freezes as it wakes up after sleep, reboot needed
I have almost the same laptop as neu (the first reporter), meaning a kohjinsha SH8 (only the processor is different). And I have the same issue. Also, like neu, I think the issue reported in the comment above are different as in our case the computer doesn't respond to ssh so it is not only a problem of X or of backlight. I will try to debug it following http://www.mjmwired.net/kernel/Documentation/power/basic-pm-debugging.txt and post the result as soon as possible. I tried the first test but nothing work... [Bug 293485] [NEW] no working driver, problem with hal
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-penmount Ok it is again me who report this bug. As i said I am not developper, in fact I am starting with python, but to debug the touchscreen is out of my reach. Anyway here is my report After a fresh install of intrepid mobile edition the touchscreen work out of the box but not calibrated and using a mouse driver. Also the penmount driver is not installed by default. Here is what I did : install xserver-xorg-input-penmount create a fdi file to say hal to use the driver : penmount It work it used the good driver but when you touch the screen the mouse jumps everywhere (I heard that before no? when mouse driver and penmount where messed up). Try the penmount website driver and launch gCalib : big X crash had to reinstall the driver from repository. And once more : the driver from repository does not include calibration tool. A possible workaround : pass all the parameters that were in xorg to hal by using the fdi file. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-penmount (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- no working driver, problem with hal https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/293485 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 227183] [NEW] no calibration tool
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-penmount The driver for the penmount touchscreen works perfectly with the PM6000 usb chips, mounted on a kohjinsha sh8 (umpc). However no calibration tool is available, making it unusable... The penmount website provides a driver and calibration tool, not opensource, but actually the calibration tool is broken under hardy, it was working under gutsy. Is there any other way to calibrate the penmount touchscreen under GNULinux? Thanks for any kind of info. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-penmount (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- no calibration tool https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/227183 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 210525] Re: No Custom opption in Visual Effects
Indeed as Mike pointed out on bug #202543, this bug correspond better to my case cause I never had the custom option as a choice. So I confirm this bug on hardy beta, all update done and ccsm installed -- No Custom opption in Visual Effects https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210525 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 202543] Re: Gnome-Appearance-Properties fails to Alllow Custom Compiz Settings
Confirmed here on hardy beta with all update. But I never installed simple-ccsm ? just install the compizconfig- settings-manager as I did in gusty and custom didn't appear as a choice. the most inconvenient things is that if for some reason we have to switch to metacity before we could use the gui and set to none in desktop effect, then when we want to switch back to compiz reselect custom and we are back we our own settings. now if we want to do the same we have to use the cli or we will use all our own settings.
