[Bug 1676474] Re: Frescobaldi crashes when compiling

2017-07-08 Thread Aikawa Takuya
Mr Hotteterre (a good name related to another great baroque composer!),
thank you for good information as I am also experiencing the same
problem.

Though I have not yet tested updating the python package, I wonder if
the fixes in the Artful package will be introduced also through the
ordinary periodical software updates on Zesty? Or should I manually
install the package?

[Bug 1416849] Re: Booted into blank screen after the security update

2015-03-03 Thread Aikawa Takuya
Thanks for your advice, Christopher.

I've just done the BIOS update and tested booting.

With the 3.13.0-45 and 3.13.0-46 kernel:
The backlight turns off (as normal boot process) and on with some oddly
scrambled lines,
then the screen generally becomes white. While the screen whiting out, the log
in drum rings.

With the 3.13.0-44 kernel, my laptop boots successfully.

The output of the dmidecode commands:
X200MA.504
11/13/2014

Thanks.

[Bug 1416849] Re: Booted into blank screen after the security update

2015-02-25 Thread Aikawa Takuya
Hi,

I've just done the latest security update,
but the same problem exists with the newly installed(updated) v. 3.13.0-46
kernel.
Also on ASUS X200MA. The hardware configurations are the same as reported above.

I expect further developments. Thank you.

[Bug 1416849] Re: Booted into blank screen after the security update

2015-02-05 Thread Aikawa Takuya
The latest v3.19 mainline kernel doesn't produce this bug.

Some messages were displayed during the boot session (sorry I couldn't write
them down, but 3 short lines),
but my laptop booted successfully.

2015-02-02 Thread Aikawa Takuya
Thank you for your proposal.
I'll certainly test the latest kernel, but this is my main laptop and
it is difficult to test it for a couple of days because of my own work...

Probably I can test the v3.19 kernel on Thursday or Friday.
Then I'll go on to adding some tags!

[Bug 1416849] [NEW] Booted into blank screen after the security update

2015-02-01 Thread Aikawa Takuya
Public bug reported:

I am using Ubuntu 14.04 on ASUS X200MA laptop.
After applying the security update to the linux kernel, the boot process failed.

Summary:
Grub load, empty purple screen appears and disappears,
then the backlight turns off... it DOES NOT turn on and the log in drum sound
rings.

It is just like the former bug reported below:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/919350

Now I am running on the previous kernel 3.13.0-44 #73-Ubuntu
(with selecting from Grub menu), and have no problem on booting.

I appreciate your help and cooperation. Thanks.

[Bug 1159065] Re: kernel hard freezes unless processor.max_cstates=1 is used

2013-08-19 Thread Aikawa Takuya
I have the same problem on Acer Aspire 5750 (Intel Core i5 2410M / Intel HD
Graphics 3000).
No sings of overworking, every month for me (maybe equivalent to 24-48 hours).
The system version is 12.04.2 LTS and I tried normal 3.2 kernel and 3.5 Quantal
HWE kernel; the same happened with both of them.

Interestingly, hard freeze used to be happening on another Acer Aspire V3
(Intel Core i5 3210M / Intel HD Graphics 4000), too,
and after upgrading it to 12.10, this trouble disappeared (at least for a
number of months).
