[Bug 1389159] [NEW] Clicking on search results doesn't take you to the corresponding page

2014-11-04 Thread Alberto Salmerón Moreno
Public bug reported:

When searching inside a PDF document in Evince, a side panel opens with
the results found (updated live while typing the search string). Each
search result item shows a bit of text and the page number.

When clicking a search result, Evince should take you to the
corresponding page. Instead, Evince does nothing, so you have to go to
that page manually.

It used to be the case that the current page also jumped to the first
search result (if the current page does not have any), but not anymore.
I guess these two bugs are related.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Open PDF document with Evince
2) Click on search button (or press Ctrl+F)
3) Type some text expected to be found in the document
4) Click on one of the search result items on the side panel

Expected result:

5) Evince shows the page in which the result is found

Actual result:

5) Evince does not change the page that is currently showing.

[Bug 573236] Re: sound distortion while scrolling

2011-03-30 Thread Alberto Salmerón Moreno
...and it's back :)

This time I noticed looking at the system monitor applet that the
scrolling that causes the stuttering (not all scrolling causes
stuttering, e.g. not all tabs in Chromium are causing it, nor Eclipse),
the "system" color goes way up, while in situations where scrolling does
not cause stuttering there's only a small increase of the "user" color.

If there is any way in which I can help by profiling this behavior,
please tell me.

[Bug 573236] Re: sound distortion while scrolling

2011-03-30 Thread Alberto Salmerón Moreno
I'm having a similar problem under Ubuntu 10.10 32-bit.

Sometimes (but not always), scrolling in Chrome/Gedit/almost anything
while playing sound on Rhythmbox/Spotify under Wine/ Flash
videos/whatever, results in considerable sound stutter.

On a related note, sometime videos playing on Totem have slight stutter
if resized past certain size (e.g. when played fullscreen).

I haven't been able to track the cause of this problem. Problems with
Totem sometimes go away after closing almost all background applications
(note, however, that there's plenty RAM free and that no other process
is consuming much CPU). Sometimes the problem just goes away without
doing nothing. For instance, I was experiencing whis bug when I started
writting this, but it has dissapeared since.

2010-05-02 Thread Alberto Salmerón Moreno
I have a related problem with my ATI x1400, open source driver, and dual
monitors. If I setup a secondary monitor, the image on that monitor
looks all distorted with waves. Primary screen (the one on my laptop)
works with, though. This problem disappears if I use "nomodeset" at boot
time.

[Bug 562191] [NEW] "Show Rhythmbox" in app indicator sometimes shows Rhythmbox in background

2010-04-13 Thread Alberto Salmerón Moreno
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

The "Show Rhythmbox" in the application indicator should open the
Rhythmbox window (it it's closed), bring it to forefront and give it the
focus. However, sometimes appears below the currently focused window and
without focus.

Ubuntu release: Ubuntu lucid (development branch) 10.04 (up to date)
Package: rhythmbox
Package version: 0.12.8-0ubuntu1

Steps to reproduce:

1) Open two nautilus windows
2) Open Rhythmbox, it appears on top and focused
3) Close Rhtyhmbox window
4) Focus on one of the nautilus windows
5) Click on "Show Rhythmbox" on the application indicator

Expected behavior:

6) Rhythmbox should appear on top of both windows and focused.

Actual behavior:

7) Rhythmbox appears below the currently focused nautilus windows and
unfocused.

I realize that focus issues are tricky, e.g. focus stealing issues get
on my nerves, but in this case I believe Rhythmbox should appear on top
and focused, as it was invoked directly by the user and no other window
got focus after this invokation. This issue is more apparent when the
currently focused window is maximized, as Rhythmbox will be completely
hidden behind it and only clue about its location would be its pulsating
button in the task bar.

[Bug 540440] [NEW] No option in tracker to stop indexing chat logs

2010-03-17 Thread Alberto Salmerón Moreno
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: tracker

Tracker indexes chat logs, e.g. generated from Pidgin, even though I
have instructed it to not watch and index my whole personal folder (only
some subfolders). New chat logs are still being indexed, so they are not
chat logs that were present after tracker was installed and indexed my
whole personal folder by default.

I don't know if Tracker searches for chat logs in specific folders, e.g.
whether it knows that Pidgin chat logs are stored under ~/.purple/logs,
or it just classifies the text files it find as chat logs if
appropriate. In the first case, there should be an option in the Tracker
preferences GUI to stop indexing chat logs. In the second case, there is
a bug regarding the folders that Tracker must index. This case seems
unlikely, since it seems that no other file that's outside the folders I
have selected has been indexed.

[Bug 223532] Re: Nautilus crashes when duplicating a non-empty folder

Yes, all the machines I tried are using the spanish locale.

I've seen that there are more issues related to the spanish translation.
Is there an ETA for the translation fixes? Or any way to identify the
offending translations so I can lend a hand (in case there are more
problems yet to be discovered)?

[Bug 150130] Xgl causes noise when scrolling

2007-10-07 Thread Alberto Salmerón Moreno
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xgl

When using the Xgl server, scrolling on windows makes a strange noise
(sound noise, not visual noise). The noise can also be heard briefly
during some Xgl intensive tasks, e.g. opening a window. This noise
doesn't sound like the one the hard drive makes, or any the CPU would do
under heavy load (which is none in my case).

I had this problem on Feisty using an unofficial Xgl package, and it's
happening again on Ubuntu Gutsy Beta up-to-date with xserver-xgl from
the official repos (version 1:1.1.99.1~git20070727-0ubuntu3). This
happens using either Metacity or Compiz.

This problem has been reported on the Ubuntu Forums:
