[Bug 189198] Re: [RV200 QW 7500] video comes up garbled - monitor edid not 1.2 compliant, and X picks wrong preferred mode
Similar bug still happens to me occasionally. Question #118449 is NOT SOLVED, but I don't know how to change the "state" and reopen the bug. After a while (10 -> 30 MINS ) the desktop is full of big lines of random pixels . Restarting single applications do not solve, and soon Ubuntu becomes unstable and crashes. I can only close & restart the session as quick as possible as a workaround. Installing Lucid Lynk 10.04 RC test ISO (on Wubi) from CD or ISO image mounted on XP, I had the same problem. [Bug 553200] Re: Mouse and keyboard stop working after selecting user
@Robert Hooker - Thank you, Alberto Milone's PPA solved the issue. Desktop Effects activated with 96.43.17 and the password at GDM login is now working! This is what I have done: -Installed Ubuntu Desktop i386 (20100419.1) test ISO on Wubi (ONLY TO TEST ;-) ) (Other Bug found & FIX - if installation at 93% + stops, press enter or move the mouse to awake the installation again and again until finished!) -When offered the installation on NVIDIA proprietary drivers, refuse and add the PPA to the sources. -Search for updates, then install the new PPA nvidia-96 mode aliases (96.43.17) -Restart the system and activate Desktop Effects if not already ebabled. -- Mouse and keyboard stop working after selecting user https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/553200 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
