[Bug 883319]

2015-04-16 Thread Alex Fiestas
With the proliferation of hidpi laptops having scale properly working is
becoming more important since it is the only way of using embedded and
external displays with a decent experience.

I do not know for what keystone is used these days but, maybe we could
consider breaking it in favor of scale?

We can't wait until Wayland + al Compositors to implement scaling imho.

Thanks.

[Bug 1061614] [NEW] KWin should enable compositing by default

2012-10-04 Thread Alex Fiestas
Public bug reported:

The Kubutu Quantal Beta 2 cd is not enabling Compositing by default in
my Dell XPS1330 with Intel GPU.

Other distros using same KDE Plasma Workspace version activate it, and
it works as well in my self compiled version (all of them with new users
and old).

So I guess it is a fault in the configuration shipt by Kubuntu.

In the Configure effect KCM the Enable desktop effects startup is
disabled.

2012-03-28 Thread Alex Fiestas
Public bug reported:

By default Akonadi contact resource is configured to storage contacts in
.local/share/cointacts but this last subfolder does not exists.

This will make akonadi launch a notification each time akonadi is
started saying .local/share/contacts folder does not exists but what
is more dangerous, akonadi will allow the creation of contacts since
they will be stored in the cache (mysql), if something happens to that
cache the data will be lost.

I already reported the akonadi_contact_resource bug in bugs.kde.org:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=296944

But nevertheless the defaults for the resource must be fixed, either by
changing the folder or by creating it.

[Bug 966913] Re: Akonadi contact resource wrong defaults

2012-03-28 Thread Alex Fiestas
Same things happens with local/share/local-email folder, and like in the
notes case it will be created by akonadi but still akonadi will popup a
warning which is noisy.

Screeenshot with all warnings show first time you open Kontact:
http://wstaw.org/m/2012/03/28/plasma-windowedT19331.png

It is important that we fix this bug for making a good impression first
time the user executes kontact.

[Bug 779421] Re: Battery status applet always shows 100%

2011-10-02 Thread Alex Fiestas
Execute :
qdbus --system org.freedesktop.UPower

Then check where is your battery, it should be something like:
qdbus --system org.freedesktop.UPower
/org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_BAT0

And finally call
qdbus --system org.freedesktop.UPower
/org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_BAT0
org.freedesktop.UPower.Device.Percentage

That percentage is what the plasmoid shows, so if that command returns
always 100, then the problem is within upower.

[Bug 689242] Re: KDE session does not have shutdown/restart options available if session is started via LightDM

2011-06-09 Thread Alex Fiestas
I'm using lightDM 0.3.7 right now with the KDE that should become 4.7
and everything seems to be working fine. Also when I fixed this into
master I did backport the change to 4.6, so it should be out now (with
4.6.4), can anybody check this?

Thanks.

[Bug 702706] [NEW] QtGstreamer should be packaged

2011-01-13 Thread Alex Fiestas
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu natty (development branch)

Release:11.04

QtGstreamer adds a Qt-Binding layer to the GStreamer framework, it is
the official Qt binding and is used by at least 2 applications, Kamoso
and KTelepathy and I'm sure that will be used by more applications in
the future.

The first pre-release has been just released, and the final release is
expected within a week and as far as I know will be ABI/API compatible
(so package this should be safe enough).

If you need any more information let me know.
