[Bug 569680] Re: Hard disk write/read freezes for 10 seconds several times in session
I have to disappoint all who complained here. Looks like it's not a bug, but a feature. My disk was dying for a long time, and new kernel just made it clear to me. After replacement, I have no problems with kernel 2.6.32-32-generic. Probably new drivers allow for less rereads and have stricter DMA wait limits. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/569680 Title: Hard disk write/read freezes for 10 seconds several times in session To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/569680/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 569680] Re: Hard disk write/read freezes for 10 seconds several times in session
Looks like this problem exists with 2.6.32-31-generic kernel as well, just doesn't happen that often. It happens under heavy disk usage only. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/569680 Title: Hard disk write/read freezes for 10 seconds several times in session -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I had a similar problem after upgrade to 2.6.32-32-generic. Boot time became huge, after boot system behaved more or less OK. But after first suspend/resume root filesystem was remounted ro. Re: [Bug 325518] Re: hwclock /dev/rtc Device or resource busy
This is still an issue on fully updated 8.04: hwclock Cannot access the Hardware Clock via any known method. Use the --debug option to see the details of our search for an access method. I don't know if I can try on the latest release. On Sun, 2010-03-14 at 01:53 +, Jeremy Foshee wrote: Hi Alex, This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid. If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux 325518 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . [Bug 325518] [NEW] hwclock /dev/rtc Device or resource busy
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image This is happening in Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron. After latest kernel update, hwclock is not working anymore. [Bug 121491] Re: Camorama can't take picture: Could not create directory
OK, I think I now what problem is. If you open Preferences, it's possible to change directory for snapshots. By default, it's ~/Webcam_Pictures. If you change it to any directory with full path, like /home/user/Webcam_Pictures, camorama works perfectly. If you try to use any relative path, starting with ~, you get the above mentioned error message. Good to know that workaround is available, but the bug should be quite easy to fix. -- Camorama can't take picture: Could not create directory https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121491 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
