[Bug 1925019] Re: [MIR] oem-stella.cmit-rattata-meta
** Description changed: [Background] Please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MIRTeam/Exceptions/OEM and https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates/OEMMeta for details. [Impact] 1. Upgrade path: Users will be upgrading from a package in the associated OEM archive, not the Ubuntu archive. 2. The background and impact of the situation for this change, and it's impact. [Testing] 1. Test that `ubuntu-drivers list-oem` lists the meta-package on the relevant hardware 2. Test that fully installing the meta-package (upgrading to the OEM archive if relevant) works properly on the hardware 3. Do an offline install. Boot the system. Run update-manager. Check that an upgrade to the OEM package is offered and that it completes successfully and the hardware works properly. [Regression Potential] Most potential regressions will live in the package set that will be installed via dependency of this package, which live in OEM archive (outside of Ubuntu) and control by OEM team. OEM team and other corresponding team need take responsibility of those dependency installed. [When switching kernel flavour] Check that the new kernel flavour works on the target platform. [Availability] This is a meta package for https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MIRTeam/Exceptions/OEM that means the package doesn't exist in Debian or Ubuntu archive yet. The source code of the oem-stella.cmit-rattata-meta for focal: git clone -b cmit.rattata-focal-ubuntu https://git.launchpad.net/~oem-solutions-engineers/pc-enablement/+git/oem-stella-projects-meta [Rationale] We want to improve the hardware support for some HP platforms. [Security] No CVE/known security issue. [Quality assurance] I have used ppa:oem-solutions-engineers/oem-projects-meta to check this package on some HP platforms. - oem-stella.cmit-rattata-meta will be upgraded to 20.04ubuntu1 or latest version from OEM archive. + oem-stella.cmit-rattata-meta will be upgraded to 20.04ubuntu1 or the later version from OEM archive. [Dependencies] It only depends on ubuntu-oem-keyring. [Standards compliance] This package should have met all requirements of https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MIRTeam/Exceptions/OEM. [Maintenance] Canonical OEM Enablement Team will take care of the maintenance. [Background information] Please check https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MIRTeam/Exceptions/OEM for details. [Bug 1932548] Re: [Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201] Video conferences constantly freeze when I am on wireless [8086:a0f0]
Hi Harrison, Intel used to ask users using the latest proprietary firmware from upstream[1]. The proprietary firmware is a blackbox in opensource, so we are trying to figure out the stable combination of kernel and related firmware. So far there are 2 kernel flavors verified works in the environment of #27 in Focal: 1. HWE kernel 5.11 + latest firmware iwlwifi-QuZ-a0-hr-b0-59.ucode (you can try it from the linux-firmware from #21 which is doing SRU) 2. OEM kernel 5.13 + latest firmware -63 (you can try it from the linux-firmware from #21 which is doing SRU) We did not check the latest mainline kernel[2] + latest upstream firmware [1] because so far the above 2 works well in our WIFI AX environment. We are wondering if any difference from the Steve's environment and yours keep the Intel proprietary firmware crashing. Could you please check if the above 2 kernel flavors plus the linux-firmware doing SRUing work on your environment? If it still failed, could you please share with us the dmesg and lspci (better to get sosreport as well) and which WIFI 6 AP you are connecting to? So that we can try reproducing your issue here :) [1] https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git [2] https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1932548 Title: [Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201] Video conferences constantly freeze when I am on wireless [8086:a0f0] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux-firmware/+bug/1932548/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi Ian, We sometime get compatibility issue form different external device and even the HDMI cord(e.g. LP: #1890772). To check if it's a external device issue, could you please help to do some test: 1. Will BIOS shows on external HDMI monitor if you plugged HDMI before booting up your machine? 2. If lower resolution make you HDMI monitor light up? - I saw you make it light up after manually xrander command, how if you change the resolution up and down?
